My guy was Gerald Young in 1987 for the Astros. The year after they went toe to toe with the Mets in the NLCS
In a half season he hit .321 with 26 stolen bases. Fast centerfielder. Expected big things going forward.
His stats - and value - decayed from that 1st season.
There was a Shaggy poster that was infamous for proudly posting a picture of his “cooked” bacon.
I just know I want it cooked more than that
I hope he didn’t die from the ptomaine.
Yeah, I was watching that live and did a double take. Had to rewind to see if he really said what I thought I heard.
That was awesome. Hinch rivals Bregman in the arrogance department. I love it.
Yeah, I was talking about LAST year. Right.
No. I heard somewhere around these parts that Marisnick wasn’t worthy of a roster spot.
So far, THIS YEAR, he’s proving that theory wrong.
I don’t know.
I read somewhere that Mike Khrushchev-ski sucked shit through a straw for his first 4 years at Duke.
The rest is history.
Seeing as he has sucked shit through a straw for 4 years, Shaka is obviously about to go on a 40-year run of excellence. Right? Right?
As a young man I used to go to a lot of Astros games in the Dome. In the late ‘70’s I could sit in the Yellow section directly behind home plate for $3. Pretty high up, but a good perspective.
Saw Ken Forsch pitch a no-hitter in the second game of the season in 1979 from up there.
Good times, indeed.
Matt Galante was tasked to teach Biggio 2nd base in 1992. Doran came back to help after having been traded a couple of years earlier. Biggio gives Galante most of the credit.
But Biggio was a hell of an athlete to be able to switch from a Major League catcher to a Major League 2nd baseman.

Ex-Astro Tuffy Rhodes would like a word with you. Ha ha
