I didn't know about its origin story. Also, from a personal standpoint, I wouldn't get rid of it. But I understand what's happening now and why its days are numbered.
I don't mind people bringing up questions about it. Especially young people. You gotta start asking questions at this age. It's natural, and healthy. Obviously, I don't fall completely in line with the idea, so I know I'll be labeled some type of way. But I do think we should have discussions about stuff like that. And that's part of why I word my points the way I do, to introduce the idea that nothing is really off limits if getting rid of "eyes" is a serious possibility.

Where was it where the band cancelled itself? Some Ivy League school I thought. Literally self assassination.I'd beat them to the punch if I were CDC, and ban them from performing at the stadium since I'm sure they performed at those same minstrel shows.

I don't get it? Should they be going back in time to get the school integrated sooner before worrying about the song?
It's pretty simple. The song has no racist meaning in itself, but if we're to say it's racist based on its origins, then I think it's fair to say the University of Texas is currently racist based on it's origins and past actions (as would be most universities). They don't seem to have a problem representing the university by being in the band. Just the song? It's interesting to me.
This country has a very short history, and a very racist one. Chances are anywhere you look you'll see something born out of it.

When was the only black drum major?
early 90s I think.

Damn right, fella.

The same band that has had only one black drum major in its history? Who is performing in a stadium that once featured segregated seating? For a team that didn't allow black players until just 50 years ago? That song tho, woo boy!

it was kind of rhetorical. Of course it's not possible.

His buyout is 4 million?
I was surprised myself. Also, I like that there's an enhancement if he's leaving for Bama:

I wouldn't think so, no. Even if there was legit interest his buyout is like a billion dollars.
It's only 4 (not saying that increases our chances any)

They circled back to this a few times. Erin kept saying basically "not sayin, just sayin, you heard it here first".
I do not believe that is possible. I will not believe that is possible...
...that's not possible, is it?

Super K-TFB....
I know there has been a lot of twitter talk about the desire by some Texas fans to see Texas hire Urban Meyer.
Of course much of this is premature. Herman still has a path to redemption – make it to the Big 12 championship and win.
But I have now heard from multiple folks that back channel donor talk dealing with Urban has already begun.
I have no idea what that means about the potential for the hire to materialize but I can say it seems it’s not just a discussion happening on twitter.

well no shit. that was the entirety of my point in the post you took issue with. take a lap, buck.
Oh, absolutely not. I still disagree that it was a rebuild because it wasn't. In our case, it was an attempt to get better, and take the next step. It didn't happen because Tom isn't a good enough coach. The talent has gotten plenty better, especially for the Big 12.
In Bama's case, it was in an effort to maintain the dominance the team already had (and happened to be the only other recent example I could think of where two coordinators were replaced in the same year, without being a rebuild).
It was a minor disagreement, but I can see it's just easier to say FTH and agree with you so yah FTH. And The Brockermeyers.

Figured someone would zero in on the first bolded selection. Thanks for not disappointing.
The point was that this is all an indictment on Herman. Teams don't rebuild in year four of a regime. You get better, or you get to fucking walking.

The respect is diminishing
I wonder if some of the hesitant fans, and our admin/some BMDs truly understand this fact. It isn't going to get any better under Herman. The time is now.

we replaced almost the entire staff. by definition, we had to 'rebuild'. i still can't believe CDC let him do that. what a fuckwad.
They didn't replace near the entire staff... and even when you bring in new coordinators, if the players are good and well coached enough to begin with, you don't fall down like this, and it's not a rebuild.
Bama replaced their two coordinators last year, and no one said they were rebuilding.

Id say that the only evidence we have is that we haven't heard outright that he isn't.
I'd say you are correct. Outside a few hints here and there from people saying he'd be interested, we haven't heard anything concrete (unless I skipped something/my brain has been formatted after Greenspoint Day yesterday). But it's something that there hasn't been an effort to shut that down, like there would be if it were false.

The fact he still gets to say anything right now is rather annoying.
