You know, I’m against knee jerk reactions and all but I don’t understand why we haven’t fired Tom and hired Urban already? Like why wait? He’s there for the taking and he will win. He’d definitely whip the dogshit out of the sweaty pregnant meatball in Fort Worth...
What if he’s talking it over with his family/some other wishful thinking? -
You can't publicly shit on the football coach and team while he's still employed. It'd leave a bad look. While we as fans would like it. It just would not go over well creating a bigger shit storm than it already is. The last paragraph where he talks about being 2-2 isn't where we want to be. Is more telling imo. That's a shot across the bow to Herman saying your time on limited time so if advise you to not shit on the season anymore than you have already.
Just seems like a SOP weekly address. You’re right, can’t shit on the coach. Gotta address things like everything’s normal since there have been no actions taken. Only other thing to do is not release your weekly letter, and then that just adds to the storm.
Without a firm defense of Tom himself, this letter doesn’t tell me anything outside of no final decisions have been made.

now where did I leave that dag nab meter? Red do you have it?
Had to make a “just in case” reply. Probably was not serious sigghhhh -
Maybe a coordinator...
Not sure your level of seriousness, but doubt he moves horizontally. -
The entire tone of this thread is "We're Texas....we're probably going to fuck this up." You're just being a twat.
I mean the username does check out -
Will this thread beat the Texas Recruiting Notes 2021 thread to 1,000?

People stating definitives like this when they clearly don’t actually know anything is always great.
What’s best is the definite immediately followed by the uncertain in the following sentence.

I heard that when he got off the plane in L.A. he said "Thank God I never have to live in Ohio again."
I heard he has always wanted to chase tornados and would take the OU job over any other job in the whole worlds.- 1

He'd take the USC job for less than the Texas job.

Shanahan has zero interest in coaching in CFB. Thats coming from someone that knows Kyle.
Kyle doesn't strike me as a guy who'd go CFB over NFL. Dude's been around the league his whole life.
But am curious if any of the BMDs would push hard for it, and if he'd at least listen for two seconds. That's my main interest, because I seriously doubt he'd jump, and honestly not sure how well he'd do.

yes "fans"think we can money whip anything. Sure we would support it. not our money. Texas isn't going to pay Urban Meyer 15M a year and if that is what he wants we will move on.
We can stop talking about 15 mil a year, because it's not going to a number that's even discussed.

Q: I’m no great fan of the performances of Tom Herman’s Texas teams so far, but I’m also less than enthusiastic about the Longhorns starting over with a new coach next year. If Texas would give a different coach three years after 2020 to build a national championship contender, wouldn’t it make more sense to give Herman those three years? (If three years is the new standard for taking a team from second tier W-L records to a national championship, which it seems to be.) — Brian D., Arlington, Va.I’ve been wrong before on these things, because you should never underestimate the extent to which emotion and irrationality dictates coaching decisions, but I believe Texas would have to bottom out pretty badly over the next two months for AD Chris Del Conte to pull the plug on Herman. Just last month, his department instituted $13.1 million in layoffs, furloughs and pay cuts. It would have to turn around and spend roughly $25 million to buy out not only Herman but all the new new assistants he hired last offseason. Offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, for one, got a three-year, $5.1 million guaranteed contract.Never say never, but that would be an insane amount to spend amidst a revenue-crushing pandemic.
But nor would I count on Herman getting another three years on top of the four he’s already had. Herman did not take on a Kansas or Rutgers-level rebuilding job. He took over a proud program with the resources and recruiting footprint to immediately attract talent and win big fairly quickly. Four games into his fourth season, the ’Horns instead look like a team that has regressed, not progressed, the more time he’s had to build his own roster. I shudder to think where they’d be without Sam Ehlinger, who remains essentially their entire offense, good or bad. Their defense has quietly gotten better, improving from 6.25 to 5.4 YPP allowed in conference games, but it’s still far from elite territory.Let’s say Texas, currently 2-2, goes on to finish 5-5. I have no doubt many fans will be screaming for his head. But it would be perfectly reasonable to say, let’s give him another year, with the players getting a second season in new systems. Yurcich gets to craft his own post-Ehlinger offense. If Herman’s team finally breaks through, great. If it’s no better, you pull the plug then, which, though still costly, will be about $7-$10 million less, and will take place (we hope) under more favorable economic circumstances.

Possible CDC’s just along for the ride on this one. Possibly. -

I think the "next loss" thing is just cover bc we don't have the replacement lined up yet. If Urban was done, I don't think Tom coaches another game.
Kinda what it feels like to me. Feels like it's possible he's gone immediately after the next loss, but that he's being allowed to walk around dead for now because a replacement is not locked in. Not sure I agree with the approach or not, but optics and such.

The next loss thing if accurate is a bunch of fucking maggot infested horse shit.
I was already off the Tom wagon but in dwelling on it more this past Saturday I experienced what is my lowest moment as a Texas fan. I've been at bad losses: 2001 B12 game, All the Stoops horse fuckings of Mack. I was at the game when Mackovic first shit the bed against TCU in FW and watched in horror when Charlie got drilled there in 2015. Route 66, Coin Toss Bumble Fuck, Houston Nutt throwing the Horns down and on and on. I've seen a lot of shit in person but Saturday was the worst. Why? Because that third quarter made me feel as utterly helpless as a fan, so helpless I felt like a hostage the Taliban is slowly ripping the finger nails out of before they ultimately cut off my head.
There in the unrelenting sun of a mostly empty Cotton Bowl I watched us come out of halftime tied only to go 3 and out (losing ~10 yards in the process) and then proceed to give up a long punt return followed by a patented OU quick strike 3 play TD drive. That was bad. Get the ball back. 3 plays and 9 yards....punt. Then finger nail by finger nail under a cloudless sky OU went on the most tortuous demoralizing drive I've ever witnessed. 17 plays of Lincoln Reilly and that rat face Spencer Rattler jamming their cocks up every single burnt orange ass who had been able to make it to the Cotton Bowl over and over and over and over until finally their 30th string RB plunged the final cock in from one yard to mercifully end it. Then three and out again and by that point the quarter was gone.
I've never felt like that as a Texas fan, it was a uniquely excruciating experience. Fuck you Tom Herman for that. Throwing you off the tower is too good for you.
can you sign my book?

FOR.THE.FINAL.FUCKING.TIME: PATTERSON IS NOT COMING TO TEXAS, PERIOD! HE WALKS ON WATER AT TCU AND WILL NEVER LEAVE.
The same water that runs like a river from out of his pores.

His first wife was better looking.
That’s probably my favorite Tom Landry quote. -
Is this an Urban Meyer only thread - or dare we discuss alternatives?
We already discussed PJ Fleck’s wife’s tits.- 4
