  1. This is what I've heard. I think there's a bit of confusion about exactly what Tennezilla is saying. There's no doubt the BBQ history in Memphis is insanely deep, whether you think the BBQ who as good as anywhere else, or not.
  2. Yah but most of my bbq is for Sundays, just how it lines up if we're doing something on Saturday. If I can get one on early on a Saturday I might try this out.
  3. Man I'd love to do a 12 hour heated rest but ffs I'm trying to eat at some point during my weekend. It's a wonder anyone put out any good brisket at all before the youtubes (we did, but there's so much info available to us these days).
  4. Studying this thread hard AF. Cool to see KN in Cuero getting some due. Grew up on their burrito plates, fish burgers and frosty mugged root beers. Their burgers were good, but not the main attraction. 20 years ago they were using some brisket trim from one of the local BBQ places in their burgers, but that was back when my mom's cousin and his wife still owned it. Believe they've sold since then but it's still cookin'.
  5. my wife uses the sauce to warm them up. Seems messy, but, that's what she does.
  6. What's funny about this, is that it is widely accepted that deep dish pizza was created and first sold by native Texan and all-american offensive lineman for the University of Texas Longhorns, Ike Sewell.
  7. Phew, had me worried for a second when this thread popped up
  8. ... has he been saying it exactly like this, or are we seeing some hedging now?
  9. You can also buy the frozen bone-in and separate 'em yourselves. I wish they did more fresh, though, as thaw time blows.
  10. Normally I'll do the patty melt. Maybe the hatch green chile burger when it's that time of year. I can't tell you the last time that their fries have been good at our Whataburger. I'm talking double-digit visits over the past couple of years and the fries have not been good once. They're never fresh, and mostly it seems we're getting sharp pointy end pieces you could use for a prison shank. If it's my choice, I only choose whataburger for breakfast hours and get a ssg/egg/cheese biscuit and a taquito, as they've managed to not screw that up... yet. Buuut the kids like the chicken strips and gravy, so we do still go. I'll be surprised if they even serve fancy ketchup in a few years with how many other ketchups they keep trying to shove down our faces.
  11. 1. Maybe he blew'd out his knee 2. Sarcasm
  12. Always been hard for me to find also, so I'll grab the 3lb turkey breast roasts from HEB sometimes (all white breast meat). I'll do a 5hr-ish brine on them and season and smoke them still in the net-trussing. Turn out great every time. That's what I do for Thanksgiving now, too.
  13. I was listening earlier, they were talking about the Jack Settleman tweet. They weren't reporting anything.
  14. Julius Peppers and Ronald Curry (the QB) at UNC come to mind.
  15. Like I was saying, I don't really think it's a bad thing that he's going to add a visit. Him leaving from Texas to go visit USC for a second time seemed like the nail in the coffin for Texas. The hope at least remains alive as he further considers things. Time is good.
