would seem silly if they cannot, though they probably don't know or understand the scope of it quite yet enough to pitch.
I'd imagine Sark and the rest have been updated on what to say, where to stop, and what contacts to give out if any further questions. It's super the fuck organized.

You’re trying to talk rational to posters that still don’t understand why a high school kid would choose playing for a winning team > playing for a loser but getting more stats.
Then he should have gone to UH.

Why is everyone so against getting Lake??? Washington always had a top secondary.
The Washington defense was a myth. Move along.

THink it's gonna be a tough pull for the big name WRs that hit the portal until the QB situation gets addressed. Is Casey staying or leaving? If he bails, is card staying or leaving?
The situation has been addressed: Ewers and Brown battle it out until Arch gets here. Fin -
What the fuck TCU!? I thought once Sweaterson was gone you’d be at least half-assed tolerable.

but how much of Stewart not coming here relates to our awful QB room with no remedy in sight?
Obviously that plays a part. We can point to Demond Demas all we want -and that point makes absolute sense- but if Stewart believes there's a better chance that he's good enough to where Jimbo will have no other choice but to play and use him often vs. Texas having a steady QB situation, then that's what it is.. plu$ a kicker.

It's truly ridiculous we have not already raised $5K for Worthy. It should be a $10K target anyway IMO.
If Stewart got $250k just to go to A&M what should we be doing for Worthy????
I get hating on the LHF and our bloated Athletic Department.
But this kid put forth a tremendous effort on our behalf.
He is truly worthy of our recognition.
This board talks a lot about what Texas should like on the field. We agree that this year's team fell short.
But Worthy exemplified what we want Texas Football to look like IMO. If Surly can't muster that then we aren't who we think we are.
I already gave a $100 to the fund and I will give another $200 if at least ten others agree to contribute $200 more as well.
How much do we think the same setup for ROJO would have raked-in by now? Just a thought that came to mind, no hidden point or second guessing or anything.

We'll see soon with the NIL initiatives Texas is taking on. I doubt the dark money goes away unless there are serious repercussions for it, which there aren't right now
That's part of what my point hinges on. Nothing's making it more advantageous for a recruit to hold out only for the legit NIL money vs. going after both. Nothing changes before they get on campus, which is when the majority of the bag game is played.

Also... $100k vs nothing is easy choice... $100k vs $125k becomes less clear
But $100k and $125K aren't fighting. You'll take both.

How many schools alums do you see passing the hat for 14.5 million a year Which would pay each football player 100k. That's an almost 20x increase in spending required just to stay competitive. And doesn't include any other individual corporate sponsorships or additional opportunities each player has through NIL.
We're going to find out. Point taken for sure.

The problem with your premise is flat out resources. You keep saying every program that matters, but in reality even among the list of 20 or so programs you'd list out, only 5-6 of them can match and stay competitive with something that can be built at Texas. Alabama has a great bag game, but when Saban retires and there's money flowing through corporate channels, I doubt they're keeping up. You can't copy cat alumni resources. Period. There simply aren't that many programs with enough rich alumni and recruit appeal that are going to dedicate 15 million a year to paying football players. And that's what CTJ has been talking about with the "layering." It all adds up. And what it adds up to is everyone at Texas on the roster getting 100k a year to play football. Or a 150k. Plus whatever other individual deals they can sign up for...no matter how you slice the numbers, it will still come down to resources. And Texas is at the top end, ahead of many others. And all of this is before you take into account business money from being around Austin versus, say, Tuscaloosa.
Think of it a different way. Look at what Phil Knight as done at Oregon. Can Texas match that? Yes. But not every other school has a billionaire alum who owns a chunk of Nike, who also cares desperately about winning, and who can re-task his Nike resources to build a huge marketing and PR firm that exists solely to get Oregon athletes paid. Texas could build that. But does aTm have that guy? Does Alabama have that guy? It's about resources. You can have the highest tech drilling equipment in the fucking world at your beck and call that you've copied from the best oil technology firms in the world, but if the plot of land you're drilling on is Vermont guess what you're fucked. That's fair. I guess the difference is that I see more than 5-6 schools that can compete, and that could be where I'm off. Obviously what Texas has to offer in resources, and Phil Knight, those are incredible, I just believe now that we've put this all out in the open that those 20 or so programs could pull more than we'd like to think.
It's going to interesting to watch unfold, at the least.
