  1. It'd be something different, as their past three coaches -which span 31 years- don't appear to have ever been affiliated with the mariners.
  2. Let's just forget that these same types of balloons and letters have been used for recruiting events, visits etc... for a long time now, and that most likely they've stocked up on the supplies and have kept the letters stored somewhere.... you can literally have this giant letter A delivered to your house tomorrow (woman and child not included... I don't think)...
  3. I don't think the shade thing is as big of an obstacle as everyone makes it out to be. A lot of soccer stadiums, especially in Germany, have overhangs all of the way around. ATT stadium just had to do grass for the soccer match. They basically utilize UV lighting, attached to wheels. They just roll them out in place. Also, how much grass is actually affected by the shading to begin with? Doesn't seem like it's a very large area. Thing is, do they really want to go to grass? Is it really even that big of an issue? Some I've talked to mention the benefits of not having to make up games etc... and cancel summer camps etc... Tennessee just went to artificial about five years ago. I like that their field has the basepaths areas etc.. painted or whatever.
  4. Used Chatgpt and it still took 'em 5 minutes
  5. I definitely don't think many people are denying it. I just think that today, after having taken their coaching staff and at least one pitching recruit -and also after opening up more recruitments and sending some of their players into the portal- that they're not on that tier above anymore.
  6. I'm sure through different graduates and back-channeling they can stop at least 40% of all brisket shipments into the Austin area.
  7. So there was no public statements of confidence for Pierce this whole time while rumors swarmed of him being out at Texas, and you think he "just found out?"
  8. That's why it's a gotcha question. "HE DIDN'T SAY HE WASN'T GOING TO LEAVE! HE'S SO LEAVING!" There really isn't anything you can say that won't come with you catching some shit. But you gotta play nice about it? Fuck those self-important assholes.
  9. Absolutely quite possible, I guess I'm just speaking on how I normally see it. I know these journos sit around their water coolers talking about this type of stuff. They can't wait to get back and hawk-tuah'd by their coworkers for asking the tough question, not really realizing why it's such a shitty question, and why they get the response they do. They just know they get it.
  10. It's a gotcha question, simple. Coaches don't like talking to the media to begin with, and then you ask them a gotcha question less than an hour removed from losing the final game of the CWS? Absolutely zero awareness of the situation by the journalists who ask these self-serving questions.
  11. #1: it's a highly emotional time to be asking the question. You can't be surprised when the reaction you get is hostile. We have a history of that being the case. #2: Coaches already don't want to talk to you, and REALLY have a deep disrespect for those types of questions being asked just on principle. So now, not only is the coach emotional and hyped up and upset about the game, now he's pissed because your dumb ass asked that lazy-assed question, all so you can walk around and get pats on the back by your media pals for asking the hard question, and being a good journalist and blah blah blah.
  12. There aren't many times where it's a good question to ask, but less than an hour off of a season ending loss -this one having been for the whole gotdamn thing- is for FUCKING sure not the time to ask that question. It's a gotcha question. No answer he gives outside of, "Yah. I'm leaving. I'm sorry," is going to be good enough, and it'll all be used against him one way or the other. I have no problem with journos having that lazy question shoved right back in their dumb faces. As for him being a shitbag, that's fine with me. Saban? A shitbag. Hoodie? Shitbag. Pop? He's been a shitbag, too. Shitbags tend to get things done sometimes. Sometimes they don't. I'm not sending my kids to their houses for the summer. Win a CWS, you shitbag!
  13. I mentioned this had been going on since long before our own season ever ended. I didn't know they were fuckin', though.
  14. Obligatory "This thread is starting to remind me of the Urban thread/Can't wait to see the meltdown when this doesn't happen/You're stupid if you think Schloss is really going to leave for Texas/*insert general puss-wringing" post..
  15. Lol @ the one that says "At least give Vitello a call." That's not how this works, aggy. WE'RE the real Texas. You guys can't do this shit that we're doing with your coach, because you're Texas A&M...
  16. I'd say the process has been going on for much longer than that. I'd go back to before our own season was over. As for favoring the rising star, we gotta remember that it wasn't CDC who chose Sark. Also, with Beard, I mean, who else was there, really? I'll go Schloss, 'cos he and CDC are legit close, and I imagine they've discussed this job for years.
