  1. Yah, there is literally nothing around there they can get rid of minus the road behind the stadium, you'd think.
  2. Delete that road, or rotate the stadium and start deleting graves, whichever.
  3. What's the story with the road behind DF? Is deleting that a possibility?
  4. I’ve said I probably wouldn’t bet on it, but the idea of it being completely in “no chance” territory is silly to me. There’s a serious bond between CDC and Schloss, and I have no doubt he’d strongly consider. Today’s possible events make that a lot tougher, but…
  5. Well no dick! They do right now without winning it. But this isn’t about right now. Does he wants to create his own legacy in CS, or or make his mark on one of the greatest baseball programs of all time? None of us can answer that, only he can.
  6. Yes we know, some of you don’t think it’s within the realm of possibility to get a guy like Schloss, you’ve repeated it many times. Though it would be hard for me to bet on it myself, you’re wrong if you don’t believe it’s been a serious consideration, by both sides. This process has been going on since well before the season was over.
  7. But at the same time, also smart not to can Pierce now. Obviously no contracts have been signed, and it’s not hard to imagine the emotions of getting to the final -or winning the whole thing- can change one’s mind on leaving their situation. Then there’s plan B if that happens. Maybe retaining Pierce is a plan C, but it’s a bird in your hand or whatever.
  8. I just don’t get the feeling CDC’s waiting to talk to anyone. I think all of that has already been done, for a minute. The candidates(?s) just happen to still be playing.
  9. I wouldn’t be so sure they haven’t. This process started before Texas was bounced.
  10. No doubt a huge hurdle. It’d be a bit easier if they had already came to an agreement with CDC before getting this far, though…
  11. Like way not even, though there appears to be some cheering for it to be.
  12. I thought Schloss was damn near a done deal if he didn't go this far, but he did, and now I have a lot of pause.... but I pause on my pause because I think through back channels this might have gotten out by now, that Schloss won't entertain it. This discussion of Schloss/UT has to have reached the team. Maybe he told them he's coming back and every damn one of those kids have remained quiet. I dunno, tough to keep a lid on that many, and I'd expect something like that to leak out through at least one of them. But maybe he's throwing CDC a bone in some way? "I'm staying at aggy, bud, but I'll let my name hang around if it helps you out."
  13. Wish-casting is thinking you're the big bad Texas and can get anyone you want, regardless the circumstances (just winning a natty at an SEC school, possibly), to leave what they're doing and join you just because you're Texas. This is different, in the relationship that the said coach has with the other school's athletic director. Not that it makes it easy, it's still gunna be hard to pry him away and gun to my head I'd bet against it, but I just don't see it as "wish-casting." I guarantee you CDC doesn't see it that way.
  14. "Disch Gusaugieschloss Falk?" sounds like it needs to go on a bumper sticker, ala those czech fellers with their "Jak Se Mas!"
  15. "Guys, Schloss is at the Chicken. Fire up the Yell Leader Signal!"
  16. Yah, that's included in all of that "what he wants." You want to be the man at your university, or one of the men at one of the greatest baseball universities that exists? Neither is a bad option. All on how his brain operates in that department.
  17. These guys are in a "talk every day" type of friendship. That's the relationship they have. There's little chance the possiblility of Schlossenheimernagle coming to Texas hasn't been discussed a few times over the past seven years, and I'd imagine a bit more the past few months. Doesn't mean it'll happen, but the point is there isn't some loose connection here, they're real deal close. Also it appears Schloss is a bit more built for Austin than College Station on a personal level. Again, doesn't mean it'll happen, but I've heard it's a real thing. For me, if you take away the fact that those are annoying aggys who are running around that small city, Schloss has a lot of reason to stay in college station. The money will be there. The facilities are going to happen. He can create his own legacy there. It'd have been a lot easier for him to jump ship had he not made the finals, and possibly winning the whole gotdamn thing. But...... what does he really want?
  18. Hell maybe we should want him to come to Texas. It'd suck for him to go somewhere else just to later come ON Texas.
  19. Maybe not. Maybe pitchers? I think you have a guy like Vitell'r get a head gig in the SEC without ever being an HC because he showed he can recruit. Weiner, has he shown anything yet but the ability to coach pitchers? I just don't think that's enough. Maybe for UofH or something, but this is by gawd TEXAS!
  20. It was for sure more common then, especially very successful ones. These guys knew the local landscape, knew the other coaches in the state. You look at a guy like Gustafson, dude had just won like 8 state championships. Kids around the state knew who his teams were. Much easier to recruit back in the 60s with a guy like that.
