He doesn't believe in Malik Murphy. OK.. what about Hudson Card/Casey Thompson for the next couple of seasons? And he decommits from OU who has Spencer Rattler in year 2? Does he not think that Steve Sarkisian and Lincoln Riley, literally the two best QB developers in college football, will not keep their QB room right? This kid is being sold a bill of goods.
Yah, I don't really buy it, that QB would be anywhere close to a large part of a "no thanks" on his part. My point in that comment was more toward the fact that it's even possible that line could be written. I mean sure, 995 and all.... but SMU?

Wake me up on NSD1 when Hudson signs with SMU. If that happens, I pledge to take my shameful feelings out on this board by posting artful photos of my assed pressed firmly up against a mirror in homage to Hudson’s similarly bad decision making.

Didn’t Jordan Hudson tweet at Maalik Murphy immediately after his decommitment tweet? Strange choice if we are to believe he doesn’t think Murphy is a competent QB.
This is levels upon levels of silliness.

You should talk to any kid coming off of a TCU visit it will quickly disavow you of this notion. Or any WR coming off a visit with Jimbo Fisher.
No, it really wouldn't, because I wouldn't believe it, and also because you said Jimbo Fi$her.
And TBH, in this case where it appears SMU may be leading the pack, you're silly if you think he ISN'T hearing negative about SMU's QB situation. He's a WR.

Finish the rest of the thought - do you think that Hudson had the concerns about UTs QB situation on his own, or are they coming from another source(s)? My guess is that everyone recruiting him right now is shitting on the UT QB room. No one has done the same with SMU because it's fucking SMU.
I know that these kids don't think everything through, and buy some crazy shit sometimes, but to buy this logic I'd have to believe he thinks the SMU QB situation is golden. He doesn't need anyone shitting on SMU for him to know their situation isn't better, and as a WR I'd expect him to explore the situation everyhwere.

Jordan Hudson isn't referring to the QBs on campus.
Not sure I'd buy that all the way, though, if his alternative is SMU...-

Look man I'm friends with a lot of people who I don't want being my team's quarterback.

WR Jordan Hudson, Garland (Garland, TX) (UOV): There’s chatter he’s not in love with the long-term outlook at QB for UT. There’s also buzz he might commit to SMU tomorrow
Well isn't this just a fucking fantastic line. Thanks a lot, everyone responsible.

Arch Manning, of the New Orleans Mannings, is not going to allow his recruitment to be influenced by the whims of Reuben Owens and anyone that says otherwise should be power negged.
Correct... but it's pretty obvious to me that Reuben Owens, of the Wharton County Owens clan, caught wind that Arch Manning is no longer considering Texas after a pelican arrived carrying word that Quinncy Ewers of house Southlake is about to march his glorious mullet back on down to Austin to claim the Whiskey Barrel Throne.

Or it could be that El Campo is a red ass aggy town and they hear negative stuff about Texas everyday and decided to take a step back
That was one of the reasons I was really surprised when he did commit to the good guys. I had already written him off for aggy a long time ago.

I think the thing that sucks about this the most, is that a lot of us who had doubts that this commitment would last up to signing day were getting pulled in by how actively he's been pushing for UT/the multiple visits etc... I think we might end up with him signing on anyway, but it'd be cool to have that class builder for the whole ride.

1 minute ago, closetojumping said:What a fucking grease fire this thread is the for the last page. Just a bunch of handwringing and whining, spurred by IT $9.95ers being scared of Fisher's bag dropping and Nick Saban being a sabateur, and also golfclap's conflating of "some younger big boosters that I know" with "all of the younger boosters" in his grind against CDC.
I think the world of Gerry and I think Nahlin is a thunderdouche and I can say that my POV on each goes beyond Internet posts. That considered, two things are very true of both of them - they both appear to work their asses off and they're both almost constantly on tilt when it comes to the notion that the bad men are at the door and those bad men are there for our UT souls.
ATM is overtly and outlandishly paying players. Some of their fucking loudmouths, O'Neal specifically, are serving as hypemen while trolling around that podunk shithole in tricked out Bentleys and the like. That, no doubt, would be worth the site for recruits. Fisher and Craig and their crew openly talking about how money is no obstacle for their program with the parents is also real and worth noting.
But what's really changed? They bought Richardson, Leal, Demas, Williams, Green and the like. We watched it happen. They're being more aggressive now with families and recruits who aren't showing up wanting or expecting bags to be dropped. They'll land the Bear Alexander types anyway. No one has any clue how effective trying to buy someone who didn't realize they could be bought is going to be, but it's not a concept being introduced by someone who is tactful or suave about the delivery or the way it will make those recruits and parents feel.
I stand by my prior and repeated take - Texas will land Denver Harris, Bryce Anderson and Kelvin Banks. Brooks? I've always thought we had a great shot but he's also never been a guy to be the house on, so maybe he winds up at Bama. In any event, I expect Texas to land a top 10 class and if they win, a top 5 class. ATM? They'll get the guys that will surprise no one and then Haynes King will lead them against a weak schedule to 9-4 on the season and not much will change. Same old ATM, throwing money at problems that don't need money to cure them.
My pussy needed this.

I agree with the first point but not the second point. Just because CDC shouldn't be involved in an activity does not imply that his actions elsewhere won't affect the willingness of others to participate in said activity.
I'm not saying it couldn't, and/or wouldn't... I'm just not thinking that would be a big enough reason to vehemently refuse to take measures that can greatly help in stopping the program's 10yr+ long bleeding . But if they're that big of some bitches as Sydney's saying, then consider me wrong.
