  1. Daughter and son-on-law live on Oahu. No major issues, other than the same type of hoarding we are seeing here.
  2. OK. With young kids anyone gets a pass to do what they feel best — I’m sure all will be OK!
  3. Really? So locking the borders to Europeans (when it’s already here) yet allowing US citizens to fly over and come back from the same exposed areas makes medical sense? And the UK is randomly excluded from the ban? Please elaborate
  4. Ahh... wouldn’t count on that. Push for a refund, hope for a credit
  5. My 2 cents There is a big jump in your price range. The $400-500 range is a big jump from the $250-300 range. That range is the realm of Tusk, Harlan, Scarecrow and Hundred Acres. As Porsche Guy notes, lots available $175-250 range. My top range is Fairchild and Stones, which is just above $300. There are a number I get that have held at about $275 (Vine Hill Ranch, Vineyardist, Brand, Immortal etc.). There are great buys we get between $150-ish to $250 — Spottswoode, Pott, Piper, Corra, Memento Mori (at the high end), Arkenstone, etc. Plenty of price levels to try !
  6. Saying this as a life-long Republican. Trump is a f****** idiot who is just trying to make press. This makes no medical sense — it’s already here. As noted above, had a trip planned to France and Italy mid April-early May. Canceled all 2 days ago, and everything refunded or credits given. Waiting on a couple, but out at most about $500, though I expect that to go down. Glad I already did it to save me time on the phone now Did I mention Trump is a moron?
  7. Yes, though Ruinart Brut Rose (probably $20 more expensive for the NV) is better IMO
  8. Yeah -- I should say hoping to rebook. We'll see what it looks like in a couple of months and go from there. Good thing is that the largest expense was airfare from US to France, which I can use to fly somewhere else that may (?) be better
  9. Just canceled a flight form CDG to Milan and back from Venice to CDG today. Air France gave full credit (we are going to rebook the full trip for later this tear)
  10. Hyatt is giving us a full credit for rebooking at the same hotel, which we will use later this year.
  11. Hope he is OK, and you get to go. Delta has given us full flight credit (business class) so we will rebook in late September. Trains have refunded. Waiting on Air France to respond on the flights from CDG to Italy, but those weren’t too bad and will get some back. Only thing I am dealing with is Hyatt Paris Vendome, which required payment in advance and is being pissy French. I told them just to give me credit and we will be there in the Fall but they are dragging.
  12. Same here. We were set for France and Italy in April. Canceling all now. Will cost us some, but most is refundable or credits (airlines and hotels are generally either working with us or were able to get credits) — will rebook for after summer. Not really worried about getting the virus — could get that anywhere. I don’t want to get stranded/quarantined abroad.
  13. Shells are odd, but it is definitely scratch made. Beans are good, just different Que is really good
  14. Wright’s in Fayetteville, AR. Very much central Texas style instead of “Southern” style, except for the beans — more liked baked beans, though done on the smoker). Eaten here 3 times and it’s always good:
  15. That is a sad plate of Que
  16. Anecdotal evidence from today. Austin terminal at 7:30 this morning: Terminal D at DFW at about 10:00. Yes, Terminal D is teh least congested, but it was almost empty today:
  17. Not disputing, just saying it’s been hard to find much that is good
  18. Celebrating the birth of our first grandchild today
  19. That is what I always do
  20. It’s typically when I’m getting an order to go, and have them throw in a half pound of pulled pork.
  21. I have tried LeRoy & Lewis’ pulled pork, and it is the best I’ve had in Austin (other than what I make ;))
