  1. Which airlines? I have a flight from Paris to MIlan on Air France in mid-April that I am considering trying to change
  2. It was good enough to stop at if passing through, but not a destination unless you want to combine it with another stop or two. Brisket (moist) was very good. Ribs were fine. Sausage (chipotle cheddar) was good but maybe the smallest links I have ever seen, and a tad dry. Sides (beans and green Chile Mac) were good, but not spectacular. Only real disappointment was pulled pork, but frankly there aren’t that many places I’ve found that make really good pulled pork. Anyone have any suggestions? I mean, I’m a native Texan and all about beef, but I do appreciate good pulled pork. Overall: yes, will go back when going through that area. Will try Helberg next time. Service is much like Miller’s in Belton — order, they give you a number and bring it out to the table.
  3. Guess Family in Waco. Stopped in on my way back from Dallas to Austin.
  4. Guess. It’s what’s for dinner
  5. Tonight’s offering: Kelly Fleming rose, Corra (Celia Welch) cab
  6. Dry aged bone-in ribeye, smoked and reverse-seared. Served with wheel-cut wedge with white wine vinaigrette and blue cheese, chorizo stuffed poblano and pepper jack cream corn (had it at Ha;Llc’s in Charleston recently ; recipe here: https://www.gritsandchopsticks.com/the-gravy-train/2014/03/recipe-the-original-pepper-jack-creamed-corn.html Wine: Kelly Fleming rose, Corra (Celia Welch) Cabernet
  7. No. That's going to be the fried chicken place - 22 Tumble. Duh — that’s right. I knew I saw a sign for a place I liked, but was confused as to which one. Both will be great to have up there
  8. I think it’s where “PDQ” chicken was — near Costco
  9. Takeout from Stiles Switch tonight
  10. Um...ok. Let me re-phrase -- for me, it's not worth driving there for that barbecue when you can get as good, or better, without having to make a hour-ish drive from downtown Austin.
  11. It’s too far to drive from Austin or Houston, so the only reason you’d stop if you were driving between the two
  12. That was fast. I always thought that was an odd place to put it
  13. People are definitely in unnecessary panic mode already. Wife went to Costco yesterday for the normal run; people were loading carts with non-perishable items and water (and., oddly, large quantities of toilet paper), and certain items were almost picked clean. She got to the checkout, and the lines were 20+ deep so she just left.
  14. We are staying at the Westin for 4 nights (and have been known to have a drink or three). We will find him, assuming we get to go...
  15. Same here. Booked the France/Italy trip in early January, so in wait and see mode. Would be very expensive to cancel now, unless things really start shutting down which should assist with trying to get airlines and hotels to help.
  16. Too early to tell. Will know more in 2-3 weeks, and will plan from there. Hoping the airlines will cooperate if cities/travel get locked down.
  17. You got change for a hundred?
  18. Heading to Reims, then Milan, Venice, Florence then Paris in mid April. Hoping it will be ok by then. Good luck to you guys
  19. Yes. Poorly acted, poorly written, all around lazy effort (and I like most Cruise flicks). Second worst Top Gun knockoff, topped only by Fire Birds
  20. “Days of Thunder,” a/k/a “Top Gun in a Car” “Sudden Death’” a/k/a “Die Hard in a Hockey Arena”
