  1. As I recall, the strong rumors at the time involved cocaine and strippers. He had tested positive for cocaine a few years earlier
  2. Would have been better off going full Astro a couple of years ago. This team will still not be contending in 2 years, mainly because they are well in the lower tier of AL talent and their top prospects are still (for the most part) a couple of years away. Even then, they are thin.
  3. Only “fast” at Sunday Brunch (awesome, by the way)
  4. Now I’m hungry for one of their 4-meat Sampler Plates (“No Sides”)
  5. This is a fairly accurate description. And he’s right — Austin lacks true high-end hotels.
  6. No on pastrami and corned beef -- never really liked those. Will agree with you on using it in chili and burgers. I was (1) joking with you and (2) referring to cooking a whole, not uses for grinding it up
  7. Doorstop, large paperweight, weapon (when frozen), pothole filler Otherwise, only good use is when properly smoked.
  8. Listen to "Polkas on 45" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS5Dc6u1j8o
  9. Again: he started the year coming off mono, had lost weight, and was unable to use December to fine tune for the year (actually, from what I read, he was basically unable to do anything golf-wise for a few weeks). He was off from the start and never was able to right the ship.
  10. Lousy, wet chug. Daly would never have spilled
  11. Had an odd season. He never seemed to really recover from the 6-ish weeks off (and weight loss, etc.) he had in Nov/Dec due to mono.
  12. As a RIce grad I can say that his pool of talent from which to choose for Rice was markedly different from what he will have to choose from for UT. Bailiff was about the best he could do at the time, especially after Graham left unexpectedly after saying he was staying. CDC should (assuming he has the $$$) be able to step up.
  13. If you head to Monterrey. The Aquarium there is awesome
  14. Not a huge fan of SF, but... Scoma’s. It’s like walking back in time. Food is good (not great) but the whole atmosphere is cool. You’ll think you see Sinatra there.
  15. Bought a bottle of 1920 last weekend for the first time, and shared it with friends. We all thought is was really good for a $50 bourbon
  16. Franklin’s YouTube video on how to trim a brisket is helpful
  17. I never thought about that — that is a great tip
  18. WIth your depth of vocabulary, you must be in MENSA, like Coach Herman And by the way, I was yanking his chain, not criticizing...
  19. Burt’s Greatest Roles 1. Lewis (Deliverance). 2. Jack Horner (Boogie Nights) 3. Paul Crewe (The Longest Yard) 4. Gator McCluskey (White Lightning, Gator( 5. Bandit 6. Turd Ferguson
