  1. I fucking loathe parents who act like petulant assholes towards youth sports / teenage umpires. It’s a fucking child’s game. Get a grip. Recently had an opposing coach (9yo kid pitch) berate a teenage umpire and then leave, trying to take his son (the pitcher) with him. Kid stayed. Dad tried to come back later. Teenage ump asked me what to do. I told him this was his field and if he didn’t want the guy back to tell him to gtfo. Which is exactly what he did.
  2. Damn. I my state's teaching schedule were a little bit different (we are 1st week of Aug to 3rd week of May) I'd actually consider giving this a go because wtf not?
  3. Jesus Christ, man. As Obama would say on one of his radio commercials (no cloak) "Take time to be a dad."
  4. Dogs and cats, living together - mass hysteria!
  5. Left here because I think these videos have merit. There were so many better ways to do Ep 1-3 than their execution.
  6. Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
  7. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor.
  8. Well... bye. Moose out front shoulda told ya. Can’t see the line can ya Russ? It’s... smiling at me. Ahoy polloi! What the fuck is a frush? We were inverted. Leave the gun. Take the cannolis.
  9. I refuse to go to a DQ outside of TX specifically because of that.
  10. If you’re watching at home, here’s what I’d do: sync up your tv (muted) with the radio broadcast. It’s infinitely better than the tv guys. And my friend is the broadcaster in turn 3. Born and bred Indy and his passion (as well as all the radio commenters) carries over. They just do a fantastic job.
  11. Fucking clown show. My buddy who works for Indycar Radio said Alonso was very chill, collected, and honest with himself after getting bumped. Stayed and signed autographs. Did some interviews. He will be back. Got my ticket yesterday - paddock penthouse. The section stuck on top of the grandstands. Outside of home stretch - quarter mile short from the pagoda. Can see the chute for turn 4 and 1 and even catch glimpses of the cars on the backstretch.
  12. I am terrified with how many side-crashes have ended up with cars airborne. Yes, they all came back down on the proper way, but I think that's just luck. One of these gets up into the catch-fence it could get ugly.
  13. McLaren giving Alonso problems in practice today. Heard he had a couple equipment failures. Could be a rough month for him was like 34th in speed today in the limited practice he had. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  15. So pissed about that. Last few years all practices have been streamed live online.
  16. Practice session 2 just getting underway.
  17. Top speeds so far, all over 228... Carpenter Castroneves Herta Bourdais
  18. Castroneves already up to 228 today. Can't wait to be out at the track for Fast Friday this week. That is in the first hour of practice. Without boost. And last year's pole speed was 229
  19. Vaughn deals, and Heywood swings and crushes one towards South America.
  20. How is this not a story out of Florida?!
  21. seriously. was expecting the javelin to be in flight. you're telling me. i am shocked that more of my athletes aren't hurt by the discus (high school track coach here). always have to remind athletes warming up or doing drills to stay the fuck away from that area. yes. Most pole vaulters are using incorrect (illegal) poles that are tested for athletes lighter than them. So, if I am 175 and use a pole for someone who's 150, I get more bend in the pole and a higher vault when the pole snaps up. Only problem is it creates more danger - higher heights and poles snapping mid-vault. I don't see it much here in Indiana, thankfully. It's also a liability issue for the school if the coach knowingly gives a vaulter a pole under their weight and the vaulter gets hurt, so it's pretty fucking serious.
  22. In a meeting and just openly laughed at "Scott, I ain't your fuck monkey." There was no sense in hiding it - so I just said a friend emailed me something funny a co-worker said and I made the mistake of reading it in here. They asked me to share. They too agree it is a gem and hysterical. That'll teach me to read Surly while in meetings (Ron Howard's voice: It won't.)
  23. Bump. It's May in Indy. I'll be going to the GP, some testing sessions, quals, carb day, and the 500. Gonna be a great month.
