  1. I am terrified with how many side-crashes have ended up with cars airborne. Yes, they all came back down on the proper way, but I think that's just luck. One of these gets up into the catch-fence it could get ugly.
  2. McLaren giving Alonso problems in practice today. Heard he had a couple equipment failures. Could be a rough month for him was like 34th in speed today in the limited practice he had. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  4. So pissed about that. Last few years all practices have been streamed live online.
  5. Practice session 2 just getting underway.
  6. Top speeds so far, all over 228... Carpenter Castroneves Herta Bourdais
  7. Castroneves already up to 228 today. Can't wait to be out at the track for Fast Friday this week. That is in the first hour of practice. Without boost. And last year's pole speed was 229
  8. Vaughn deals, and Heywood swings and crushes one towards South America.
  9. How is this not a story out of Florida?!
  10. seriously. was expecting the javelin to be in flight. you're telling me. i am shocked that more of my athletes aren't hurt by the discus (high school track coach here). always have to remind athletes warming up or doing drills to stay the fuck away from that area. yes. Most pole vaulters are using incorrect (illegal) poles that are tested for athletes lighter than them. So, if I am 175 and use a pole for someone who's 150, I get more bend in the pole and a higher vault when the pole snaps up. Only problem is it creates more danger - higher heights and poles snapping mid-vault. I don't see it much here in Indiana, thankfully. It's also a liability issue for the school if the coach knowingly gives a vaulter a pole under their weight and the vaulter gets hurt, so it's pretty fucking serious.
  11. In a meeting and just openly laughed at "Scott, I ain't your fuck monkey." There was no sense in hiding it - so I just said a friend emailed me something funny a co-worker said and I made the mistake of reading it in here. They asked me to share. They too agree it is a gem and hysterical. That'll teach me to read Surly while in meetings (Ron Howard's voice: It won't.)
  12. Bump. It's May in Indy. I'll be going to the GP, some testing sessions, quals, carb day, and the 500. Gonna be a great month.
  13. Good God that was an ass kicking today. Again.
  14. I think this is something we can all agree upon.
  15. It sure isn't Dr Drunkenstein AIDS.
  16. Agreed. It’s technically part of Indianapolis. Glad they didn’t go by that name.
  17. Lawrence Indiana - not too far from the suburb I live in. I liked how the officers kept speaking English to the Mexican guy who clearly no speak ingles.
  18. In a related topic, last night some asshole tried to enter St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC with two jugs of gasoline, lighterfluid, and lighters. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/17/nyregion/st-patricks-cathedral-marc-lamparello.html

    Lent

Technically Catholics are called to keep their Lenten sacrifice until the Easter season begins, which is after sunset on Saturday, or after Mass if you go that night. The Triduum (Thus-Sat) is also technically its own mini-season on the church calendar.
  20. Chargers old/new look is scrong.
  21. I'll take that bet @Lobo. Sagrada Familia is in the home-stretch. Notre Dame could be a 100 year project.
  22. Rather than try to put it in my words, I copied this from the Diocese of Scranton website that does a good job explaining it... Such a program (self-insurance) demands an increased awareness and responsibility for safety conditions, and the correction of improper, hazardous or unsafe situations. The benefits of such awareness will be a reduction in total claims, and continued savings in the cost of insurance to all parishes and agencies. We maintain very high levels of Self-Insurance Retention. Above these levels, we have purchased various levels of Excess Insurance to cover against large catastrophes. Our program must, therefore, be managed in accordance with the recognized principles and practices of underwriting and claims adjustment that is required under the terms of our excess policies. ADVANTAGES TO EACH PARISH ⦁ All Risk Coverage ⦁ No co-insurance requirement ⦁ All Properties fully protected ⦁ Newly acquired properties automatically insured ⦁ Liability exposures fully protected ⦁ All parishes organizations and activities protected ⦁ Automatic coverage for Parish and Diocesan events ⦁ Favorable costs
