  1. Gotdam I can't wait to go. Will be in France for 11 days for work in May. Spending 5 days in Le Mans... so bummed that I'll be missing the 24 hour race by just two weeks. Any Le Mans recs? The other 5 days I'll be in Paris, but have done enough internet exploring of the city over the years that I know exactly what major churches I want to visit and then get lost in all of the out-of-the way things I've read about over the years.
  2. Pat McAfee Show - any of the ones with John Daly. He's a true American hero. Last Podcast on the Left - the ones covering the Menendez brothers. I laughed way too much.
  3. 99% invisible - Flags. All about design, shitty design, and good design behind city/state/national flags. It's actually better to watch than listen to this one.
  4. my expectations get higher with every new thing that comes out.
  5. Yeah, it got bad when Roseanne took over the writing, right? Love the early seasons. Watched the first two episodes of S10 last night and went in with very low expectations thanks to this thread and I'm glad I did. It allowed me to shake off the crappy stuff and enjoy the nostalgia. My mom got into writing after dad died and has self published a couple books (Shell Silverstein type poems for kids - I keep telling her to take it to a real publisher and see what they say). And John Goodman, especially now in his older years for some reason really reminds me of my dad. Made me wish I could just blink and have pops back like it was just a bad episode of a tv show that never happened. So, yeah, all the feels.
  6. All... Bets... Are... Off... If all bets are off there can't be any money, can there?
  7. Do you have anything to declare? Yeah. Don't go to England.
  8. It's a four ton truck, Tyrone. Its not as if it's a packet of fucking peanuts, is it?
  9. Even though lent ended yesterday with the Triduum starting today on Holy Thursday it is common practice to keep Lenten sacrifices till you attend Easter mass. For us that is the Saturday night service where they baptize converts and confirm adults. Long as all get out. Usually 3 hours at our church. Cradle catholic and my mom is basically the church lady sans being judgmental.
  10. I have fun with my friends when I go and make money doing it. Fun and profit seem like reason enough. And it's not an inordinate amount of time - 2 hours per week on a Wednesday night and I don't even go every week.
  11. Suppose Nancy sees me coming out of the shower and decides to come on to me. I'm looking good, got a luscious V of hair going through my chest pubes down to my ball fro. She takes one look at me and goes, " Oh, my God, I've had the old bull, now I want the young calf," and she grabs me by the weiner.
  12. It did. And I'm already finishing that season after binging it this week.
  13. Ok two more things... At DB you don't have money on your card like ME does. You have "chips" and of course there's all sorts of convoluded math as to how much they charge for chips. bottom line, don't buy chips unless it's with a 20-for-20 coupon. and don't do the "supercharge" option they offer you. So, when you get a 20-for-20 coupon/card you have 200 chips to play games. simple math, you just drop a decimal point to determine how much a game costs you to play. Second - fuck school breaks like spring break (this week here). went to DB tonight and it was a pigsty. kids everywhere - and not just grade school kids. saw probably a dozen toddlers wandering all alone. a few of the games i play were fucked with (cheaters) and shut down for the night. other games were run-up to stupid scores except a few. the one positive is that coinpushers were all ready to be sniped. spent 220 in chips ($22) and came away with 11,000 tickets ($44). A bad night as far as my normal numbers are concerned, but any night I walk away in the black and have some fun with friends is a good day. The biggest thing with DB right now is there are no prizes with flipping. Sitting on quarter-mil tickets right now.
  14. Will do, AB. Oh, and the reason I say I'll DM to anyone who would like to know is that there is a small but tight-knit D&B community of guys that do this for a profit and sharing secrets recently has led to two things- first, D&B corporate started noting the ways that games were beat and adapting them to either not be winnable or paying out less tickets. The second thing is those guys have their own forum that is private, and it's generally frowned upon to share secrets on public forums.
