  1. yeah, we had record sales/profits when we were 100% working from home due to covid. our business benefitted greatly from people getting covid bux from Uncle Sam. we had been working 2 home/3 office for a while and got the notice last week we are going to 1 home/4 office starting Q4ish and the 'excuse' was that profits are down so we need more 'collaboration'.
  2. also should mix in a tax protest or two. it's a recent build but damn, that assessment.
  3. not quite old yet at 49, but a couple things i wish i had kept up on or what i am doing now - I call it reverse atrophy training. planks, light/body weight strength exercises just to keep muscles from shrinking and keeping the core strong. Helps with back pain and helps with lethargy from my desk job. a few months ago i started small at home and now hit the gym at work for 20-30 minutes at lunch 3 days a week. will never get swol but hitting the major muscle groups at least once makes a huge difference. - don't be afraid to spend money on docs. get cortisone shots, minor surgeries if you need them. my shoulders are pretty crappy with arthritis. not much i can do other than i had a bone spur removed and i get shots in both shoulders at least once a year now. - all of the above to keep doing 'young' stuff like playing pickup ball with my son at the gym, travelling a lot more/booking ski/snowboardng trips while you can still go hard - i was always blessed with good metabolism and have not had to battle weight issues, but it's starting get harder and harder to maintain my weight and still eat enjoyably. The saying that you cannot out-exercise your mouth is pretty true. weight loss is about diet more than exercise, imo - i have not really curbed my intake, but alcohol is very inflammatory to my joints...but mezcal is so good.
  4. is picking up someone from the airport still a thing? can step-bro not install uber on his phone? i can't imagine asking someone to waste an hour or more of their time (especially middle of workday) to save $20.
  5. lol, do you work for the NZ tourist board or something?
  6. yep, so many people get healed on the flight that the number of wheelchairs needs miraculously goes down upon arriving. flight back from Maui and my wife got the upgrade to first and said peace out, you can sit with the kids. i don't blame her one bit.
  7. you should have thanked the 'good guy with a gun' for his service and covered his bill, jerk.
  8. Oct 15th and the first message back will asking to confirm NASA's banking information at First Intergalactic
  9. have trips to Whistler (flying) and CB (driving, i think although weighing the JSX option) and 90% going to pull the trigger on Portillo for July next year. wife is on board, just have to work out all the kids' HS sports bullsht and how early they start prior to actual classes. Want to go as late in July as possible i think to get the best snow.
  10. with that salary they are essentially saying, hey come here and be a full time host, sharpen your skills, hone your craft to go make money somewhere else if you can. I, unfortunately use to work for a place with a similar mindset. they would only hire engineers after big layoffs in the sector and offer shit to start. the actual work was cool, but the pay, not so much. so they could not be surprised when people leave to get what they (at least think they) are worth.
  11. read an article the other day that said they tried a pilot program with assigned seating a few years ago. I think out of San Antonio and one other city. Said it increased boarding time by 1-4 minutes. Which i guess every minute counts. I don't think it's written in stone though. I think the other airlines have figured out that they can advertise their economy seats' low fare, but then rake in more dollars by charging for window/aisle, premium economy etc...
  12. it's a combo of that extra helmet padding and that he is really fucking short. RE: the Martin holdout. Jerry (although he never does) should just shut his glory hole. You think a player holding out wants to hear that you cannot pay him because you have to pay another player? Is that logic going to make Zach think, 'OK, i'm cool with another player getting my money. I guess i will head to camp now'? FFS, Jerry.
  13. no pics, but Rodeo Goat was legit. had never been before and stopped by a lunch yesterday. Murder burger (aka chili burger) was fantastic. huge chunks of brisket in the in the chili. Fries were good, but would be better to have thinner cut pieces so they would crisp up more.
  14. just want to come to this thread and vent. Fuck this dude for screwing with sooo many people, families, paychecks, military readiness etc... because he wants to flex on women's reproductive systems and take even more money out of families' pockets that might need to travel because so many of our states are too fucked up to give citizens autonomy over their bodies.
  15. I thought he got busted for bussing in fake 'pubs to Iowa to bolster is his numbers in Iowa
  16. Didn't the Cubs do the same thing and claw some money from the rooftops that had sightlines to the baseball games? I get their point somewhat, but max occupancy * $1500 is straight up extortion.
  17. they should just pull Killer on the air by himself for 5 hours a day until he shatters Norm's ebrake record.
  18. reminds me of my dad's (well grandad's) old JD. towards the end we had to pull start it with the truck every time with my dad bitching my 12yo old ass out for taking off too fast. air up the tires for every run. hydraulics were actually decent and only leaked a bit. eventually some rainwater got in the engine block and froze and that's all she wrote. i want to say it was built in the 50s and lasted 35 years or so. quick web search and this photo looks the most like what i remember The front wheels were definitely closer together than a lot of the other models and you had use the individual rear tire brake to turn. Although it could have been a 4010 which was built in the early 60s.
  19. i mean, i am stupid enough to pay for surly, so there's a chance
  20. no money shot. busy cooking for the non-steak eating members of the family and forgot to snap a pic before digging in. one side had good sear, the other not as deep a sear as i wanted, but i did not want to overcook them as they came sliced thin (about a 1lb each)
  21. i think Trump is actually so repulsed by 'the evangelicals' that he just cannot bring himself to even fake being one for the 2 minutes it would have taken to fabricate an answer to that question of how his faith has grown over the course of his presidency. Even a "Jesus is my copilot. Every day i ask his guidance" would have sent 1000s of those idiots into speaking-in-tongues conniption fits. Trump may be too big a narcissist to admit that another being, even the creator of the universe, could possibly improve upon his life or his plans for the nation that he cannot speak the words out loud. the best he can do is tear gas some people and hold a Bible upside down.
  22. got a group of 4 i am floating the idea to. we have rental booked, but who really wants to deal with that shit
  23. finally cooked these bad boys last weekend. The daughter and i share a birthday and a love of steaks so splurged on some A5 as a 'her' gift. Just pan-seared and finished in oven. Used the drippings the next day for the base of cheese enchilada gravy.
