  1. Treating all standard trades this way across the board is really questionable in my opinion if I have the facts right. There is little doubt that many middle class people with their smaller nest eggs (versus larger institutional investors and hedge funds, etc) are going to be disproportionally impacted. It is so easy to distinguish specific trades with more targeted taxes to impact larger - and richer - investors (frequency/value of trading, derivative, algorithm) versus a flat rate across the board. In fact, Warren seems to have done just that with some of her own proposals. Let's take a simple idea -- income tax. We target richer people in theory by having a larger tax rate for higher income. People might scream if someone proposed a flat rate for all tax brackets no matter the income going into the billions -- but I feel like this proposal is kind of analogous in that it would apply to a "low bracket" newbie investor making a standard trade with literally only $500 in his retirement account the exact same way as a $25 billion hedge fund making say the exact same trade except with tens of thousands of extra volume being traded? (I haven't read the actual plan, so feel free to correct me if this is not the case, but this is the impression I got)
  2. In a sad way, I think they are right. I think Jimbo could have asked for almost 100 million and gotten it.
  3. Oh wow. He really is the biggest danger to his own candidacy.
  4. I've got a good imagination so I actually pictured the moderators baiting them both with very specifically worded questions and laughed out loud. Well done.
  5. Nothing wrong with doing everything you can but under no circumstances should Democrats sacrifice any resources and effort towards ESPECIALLY Wisconsin for a national campaign that takes money and resources away from that state (and a few key others of course). If you can do it all, that's fine.
  6. If both Bernie and Warren keep remaining viable and Harris is knocked out first, it's very possible that Biden will win without ever really having super strong support (over 50%) but enough to win the most delegates by a war of attrition. Warren has to be able to win a good share of the black vote and also win some more conservative states. I don't think Bernie can ever win enough of the black vote personally to ever win it all so to speak.
  7. I'm...speechless. Just that image on the back of the truck.
  8. For the Dems, I think this state is Biden's firewall that someone has to break if they are going to win the nomination. It might be hard to stop momentum if Biden stomps everyone in this state.
  9. Running backs take so much contact that I am not sure the situations are all that analogous, although certainly Durant is suffering a challenging injury.
  10. If isn't done by the top people but instead only the athlete and NBA reps officially leading the process to form a committee, it could possibly work. But the Chairman (Dempsey) is just a military guy and it is also asking a lot for this specific organization to go beyond their current boundaries as a national governing body. I would still much prefer a newly formed advisory committee composed of specific NBA people.

That's a damn good answer. Impressed.
  12. Some nice changes for players that are undrafted, but USA Basketball is the wrong entity to determine elite high school players. It should definitely be some type of advisory committee composed of mostly NBA people. I wonder how many players would qualify as "elite" -- lottery level picks?
  13. Fair if it works to our benefit, but it is what it is if it's my own.
  14. I never thought we would nail Bijan and Broughton but miss on Thompson. All things considered, I'll take it as I think we can still eke out some good commits in the secondary. (I hope)
  15. Yeah, I agree. He could have just said that he feels that Auburn isn't the better fit but adding the "regret" comment is pure salt to me.
  16. Exactly. Unlike Thompson, I hope my children would choose their passion/dream even over my objection if necessary. I don't mind them making mistakes (in my opinion at that time and of course I could be wrong) if they are always passionate and following their dreams because more often than not that kind of person has a pretty good shot to be happy in life even with failures and mistakes. I basically hope they are independent and strong willed enough to follow their own mind and heart against all if necessary.
  17. I don't have any issues with a kid going where they want, but I sincerely hope my children are strong enough to follow their own dreams and not be dominated by myself or my better half if we have a different opinion. I can respect that even if I think it's wrong.
  18. Yeah, I don't remember who posted it, but that post showing offer letters from multiple SEC schools (and A&M's offer letter having the SEC logo just as big as their own versus the other schools not even bothering to put SEC) says it all.

It certainly launched him to the national spotlight, and I don't doubt he can be genuine and a worthwhile person, I am just seriously doubting his political strategists so far. I think he has run a poor campaign, especially in the beginning by not taking advantage of his early fundraising/exposure momentum. Despite that, I think he has to be considered a strong VP contender (depending on who wins the primary) if he can stay disciplined and improve as a communicator a little more. I think Warren should take a hard look at Beto if she wins the nomination. (but this still depends on the next few months as variables can change)

I never once felt in his entire campaign before that he was ever speaking from his actual heart unscripted and genuine until just now. Maybe I missed something before as I'm certainly not glued to the political scene, but that was my reaction.
  21. Lol, so stupid. Go visit say...Seoul or almost anywhere in the world with high tech and a lot of young people with access to games. Look at where people are playing from on almost any popular FPS out there. Numerous countries have casual, serious, and even hopelessly addicted gamers, but they aren't shooting anyone. Japan openly has extremely violent, sexist, and outright offensive games all over the place that would never even sell in the United States, but they aren't doing this either.

He could be a great running mate for certain candidates in my opinion, and where has this guy been up to now?
  23. I'd consider 6th pretty damn good considering our likely class size and what is going on with the above five. I think 2021 might be pretty epic though...
  24. Maybe, but I was seriously unimpressed that Tulsi (who I know very well and how strong and weak she really is for this kind of thing) could hit her so hard and so effectively. I'm even more unimpressed she could not effectively attack Biden this time around when she really had to take him down to get more traction. Biden survived the night fine (except maybe his own self-induced meme worthy error) and probably suffers no real setback from this debate. Tulsi is also not nearly the foil Trump would be when it counts. I think Trump will attack everyone hard without any holding back no matter who it is that runs on the other side. I guess we will see.
  25. I have to admit -- when this all started, I thought Warren might be one of the weakest foils for Trump as I felt she lacked the right charisma to command/dominate where it mattered. The more I watch everyone, I am becoming more convinced she might be the only one that can actually stand toe to toe with Trump and battle at a high level. I still worry about her strength in the Midwest a little, but I really can't even imagine how Sanders/Harris/Biden could stand up to Trump properly, and no others are real contenders to me.
