  1. I don't see any clouds. Oh wait, my blinds are closed. The sun is out. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. In his 4th year, he went 2-4 in his division and lost to the worst team in the west. He beats SC who is horrible every year and either Missouri or Vanderbilt. He played an incredibly weak non conference schedule and only played 3 road games on the opposing team's field and lost 2 of them. They were also supposed to be in the running for the BCS this year and failed miserably.
  3. Do you know what else sucked? When we were shooting free throws after practice, if anyone missed a shot, all of his teammates had to run sprints while he had to watch. Not a great way to make friends but at the dining hall, you got a table all to yourself.😁
  4. This goes way back but I remember reading about a coach somewhere in the northeast that put thumbtacks in the heels of his kids shoes to make sure that they always played on their toes. When John Chaney coached at Temple, he used to have practice around 6 am every morning and his reasoning was that at the end of the day, his kids would be too tired to get into any trouble.
  5. Maybe part of the problem that "we" have is that most of us on this thread were students at UT and not a T shirt fan like you. WE had some great T shirt fans in our day but you have never nor will ever be one.
  6. That was just an example. If there are better examples out there great. And considering this is Surly, maybe the Pole Assassin could create an internship for appropriate student athletes.
  7. Create a "shark tank" program. Have UT entrepreneurs and successful businesspeople listen to ideas from student athletes. Say a student athlete has a great computer idea that Michael Dell really likes. He can offer that student a summer internship for say $50k for that student to work for Dell during the summer to use Dell's resources to develop that idea. The opportunities are limitless, and I don't believe that any school in the country can compete with UT in this arena.
  8. Actually you're partially correct. In my days on campus, algore hadn't invented the internets yet. I had a kid in my geology class named Fred Flintstone. He went on to be a great TV star. He was in my geology class but back then, there wasn't much geology to study.
  9. The bleachers aren't permanent. They fold against the wall when there aren't games. Gregory is usually sectioned off into one volleyball and two full basketball courts. I understand that but that way, you don't get any splinters while sitting on the old bleacher seats. That's no fun.
  10. SDG, thanks for the video. For 30 seconds, I felt like a kid again. The floor is much different and back in the day, the bleachers were not permanent but brought in for each game. They went down all the way to the court line and when sitting on the bench, our feet were actually on the court.
  11. Any score? I hope that someone is taking pictures. I would like to see what my old home looks like. Hopefully the crowd is loud.
  12. Agree assuming that Moody has the right configuration which I assume that it will.
  13. If anyone has a chance to go to the game tonight, go. Of course, Gregory has been remolded but you get 7k kids at the game going crazy and it will be an atmosphere that most have never seen before. Hopefully the band will be there as well. Go. You may be right but I believe that part of the situation on offense is that we are passing up wide open shots because the kids are extremely unselfish. Once they feel more comfortable playing together, that hopefully won't be a problem.
  14. I had season tickets in those days. Some incredible games especially when the Steelers came to town. RIP Curly.
  15. The best way to make long term money is by going to college and becoming a high draft pick. A couple of million dollars is peanuts compared to NFL contracts. That's how these kids make real money. Where do you think the real opportunity lies to make big money, Jimbo's offense for a wide receiver or Sark's?
  16. You may be right but I believe that part of the situation on offense is that we are passing up wide open shots because the kids are extremely unselfish. Once they feel more comfortable playing together, that hopefully won't be a problem.
  17. Would this be a good time to tell people that McCombs is rated much higher than Mays?
