  1. I suspect that a lot of posters are pounding meat right now.
  2. I think they offered Elko season tickets to hoops games and aggy couldn't watch because they don't have a hoops team. Poor aggy.
  3. When did this happen? The last time I ate there they were still headquartered in Austin.
  4. You have been demoted to Private Hulk.
  5. I know. Before Marvin. I believe that he used to be a Sherriff before he went into TV.
  6. I used to plan all of my trips between Houston and LaGrange so I could stop in LaGrange. To eat. There was nothing else to do in LaGrange back then. I remember the old Bon Ton.
  7. Hi report on the CR didn't do me any good.😝
  8. Cottonwood Inn in LaGrange.
  9. and you do you. Thats the point.
  10. Groucho Marx says howdy.
  11. Joining this group has nothing to do with caring.
  12. I don't see any clouds. Oh wait, my blinds are closed. The sun is out. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. Hopefully he will have some with the upcoming class.
  14. In his 4th year, he went 2-4 in his division and lost to the worst team in the west. He beats SC who is horrible every year and either Missouri or Vanderbilt. He played an incredibly weak non conference schedule and only played 3 road games on the opposing team's field and lost 2 of them. They were also supposed to be in the running for the BCS this year and failed miserably.
  15. Do you know what else sucked? When we were shooting free throws after practice, if anyone missed a shot, all of his teammates had to run sprints while he had to watch. Not a great way to make friends but at the dining hall, you got a table all to yourself.😁
  16. This goes way back but I remember reading about a coach somewhere in the northeast that put thumbtacks in the heels of his kids shoes to make sure that they always played on their toes. When John Chaney coached at Temple, he used to have practice around 6 am every morning and his reasoning was that at the end of the day, his kids would be too tired to get into any trouble.
  17. Maybe part of the problem that "we" have is that most of us on this thread were students at UT and not a T shirt fan like you. WE had some great T shirt fans in our day but you have never nor will ever be one.
  18. That was just an example. If there are better examples out there great. And considering this is Surly, maybe the Pole Assassin could create an internship for appropriate student athletes.
  19. Create a "shark tank" program. Have UT entrepreneurs and successful businesspeople listen to ideas from student athletes. Say a student athlete has a great computer idea that Michael Dell really likes. He can offer that student a summer internship for say $50k for that student to work for Dell during the summer to use Dell's resources to develop that idea. The opportunities are limitless, and I don't believe that any school in the country can compete with UT in this arena.
  20. You're late. This debate has been over for over 40 years.
  21. Actually you're partially correct. In my days on campus, algore hadn't invented the internets yet. I had a kid in my geology class named Fred Flintstone. He went on to be a great TV star. He was in my geology class but back then, there wasn't much geology to study.
  22. The bleachers aren't permanent. They fold against the wall when there aren't games. Gregory is usually sectioned off into one volleyball and two full basketball courts. I understand that but that way, you don't get any splinters while sitting on the old bleacher seats. That's no fun.
  23. Final score? Thanks.
