  1. You're backtracking faster than a Port Lavaca sand crab. You never answered my question about the kid from Northern Colorado. You probably thought that he was low hanging fruit.
  2. No one is telling you to fall in line. Just don't make comments about kids you know nothing about. If they don't play up to your expectations next year, then bitch away.
  3. I'll go with the coach's judgement over yours. How did that kid from Northern Colorado work out last year?
  4. Or he might think that if Arch took a redshirt year to better understand the offense, build his strength, and get used to the jump up in competition, that might be the answer to getting better prepared for the draft one day. Arch will be our starting QB for probably 2 years so that might be the winning formula for him as well.
  5. Welcome to the Longhorn family. Work hard, study hard and have a great life.
  6. Welcome to the Longhorn Basketball family. Work hard, study hard and have a great foundation for a wonderful life.
  7. agree, just like that kid from Northen Colorado who was horrible in D1.
  8. The Houston Wheatley teams in the late 602-early 70s were awesome as was Hobbs New Mexico coached by Ralph Tasker.
  9. Opponents have been doing the horns down long before you were born. If I remember correctly and I may not, the horns down stuff at BYU was stopped by their admin. RT didn't even know what happened.
  10. When the move to the B10 was announced, I mentioned the travel. Flying from the west coast to the east coast will be rough. A 6-hour flight and 3 time zones is going to be brutal.
  11. Kentucky doesn't have a basketball program. They have a series of recruiting classes.
  12. Hope both Hunter and Mitchell come back next year.
  13. Tough loss but great to fight until the last second. For those of you putting on a Texas uniform for the last time, congrats for all of your hard work and dedication. I hope that great things are in everyone of your futures. For those of you that have the ability to come back next year, I hope that you do with a sense of the opportunity that is ahead of you. Use this tough loss as motivation for the future.
  14. Why are you bringing common sense to this thread?
  15. Well, he's playing as a scholarship athlete in college and is a student at UT so that's already 2 things that he has accomplished that you haven't.
  16. Mo, keep up the good work.😁
  17. Thanks Braff. I believe that's 5 teammates and my coach that are gone that I know of.
  18. Your jumper was almost as bad as mine. Sorry but you asked.😁
  19. Tommy Delatour passed away earlier this month. We were teammates for 3 years. Great guy and a great Longhorn. A note to all of the younger posters. Most young people think that the worst part of getting older is that your health begins to deteriorate a bit. It does but that's not the worst part. Before Kirk Douglas passed away at 100 I believe, he was asked about that. Despite being in a wheelchair and hardly able to speak, he said this. The worst part about getting old isn't losing your health but rather all of the people important in your life are gone. There is no worse feeling. Sorry for the preaching. RIP Tommy. There is going to be a great hoops team in Heavan.
  20. Years ago, I was reading about that movie and if I remember correctly, this kid was the best athlete in the movie. Supposedly, he was such a good free throw shooter that he had problems actually missing a free throw but I get your point. It's tough to compare athletes from years ago with today because the game is so different now. I would have loved to see lebron challenge the prehistoric beasts like Wilt, Russell, Zelmo, Thurmond, Reed and the rest.
  21. Hope Boston College doesn't let Bill trade away all of their draft picks.
  22. DKR used to do that with recruits.
  23. Wasn't Foreman in the Sports Illustrated game? Wasn't Page a judge at some level?
  24. The kids are finally learning to play together. It takes time and I think they are now there. Disu is finally healthy and they are playing much better team defense. Weaver has been a huge surprise and max now understands that his teammates are working hard to get him shots and he is responding. The coaches also have a better understanding of their rotations. The second half of conference could go really well.;
  25. We played there one year. In prehistoric times, the Marriott Center was the largest gym in the country seating about 20k. The benches were below the court and the gym was one level sloping slowly away from the court. There were about 13k in attendance and it was relatively quiet because of the gym's configuration. Supposedly tomorrow is a sellout so it will be loud.
