  1. New season and you're still a clueless village idiot. Newsflash. With maybe a couple of occasional exceptions, no team at any level sets proper screens. In a proper screen, the ball handler actually rubs against the screener so there is no room for the defender to go through him. You don't dribble 3 feet behind the screener. Go watch a Duke game. Kentucky game, Tennessee game or any pro game and watch all of the improper screening.. Please stick to telling the board who the next hot 16 year old young man is.
  2. Tyrone passed several years ago. Sadly so did Gary Goodner and I believe that Rich Parsons has as well. Saddest of all was Hank Bauerschlag passing in I believe 1979 the day after he found out that he was going to be a Dad. Breaks my heart to this day. I haven't been able to make a reunion in the last couple of years so I am not sure and hope there hasn't been anyone else besides Lynn Howden. Tyrone was a good guy.
  3. As long as we play tough defense, we should be a tough out for any team.
  4. Guys, please quit acting like idiots. Whenever a young man moves to the next level, there is an adjustment period. Things that these kids do in high school don't always translate well to the college game. Greg needs to and will learn that he can't just jump over kids like he did in high school. Probably for the first time, he is playing against competition that is as tall as he is, as strong as he is, a much narrower talent gap and in many cases are more experienced than he is. The more he plays, the more he will learn how to play at this level and he is getting the coaching he needs to not only play better but also playing smarter. Just give the young man more than 5 games. The game will begin to slow down for him. He will be fine.
  5. I think we're going to need bigger shorts.
  6. I thought that a T Man was a former letterman. Now its food?
  7. My uncle actually helped Ninfa get started in the restaurant business at the Navigation location. Long time ago.
  8. Agreed. Any time a young man goes to the next level, there is an adjustment period. It could be a couple of games to maybe an entire season. He is moving a little faster than sometimes he needs to but soon the game should be slowing down for him. Its not like he doesn't have the ability to shoot 3s. He will be fine.
  9. shouldn't there be a couple of fried shrimp somewhere on the shorts?
  10. and don't forget to sign a lucrative shoe contract.
  11. When I was in school in the dark ages, I had the opportunity to coach young kids with the late Tyrone Johnson. After watching the kids for about 20 seconds, we decided that the best way to coach these kids was just to make it fun for them. To us, the main goal was that they had fun and wanted to continue to play as they got older. I remember that during some games, one of us would stand under the basket when we were on offense and when a kid was in the lane too long, we would pick them up and put them outside the lane so there would be no 5 second call. The refs couldn't stop laughing. Just have fun..
  12. The SWC was the greatest conference in NCAA history. As stated earlier, everyone knew everyone and every game was a rivalry game because the fan bases hated each other even more than the teams did, It was even more amazing before there were scholarship limits.
  13. from you. Maybe Hamm didn't play much yesterday because of the match ups that Davidson caused.
  14. Good luck to the young man. Hope everything works out well for him.
  15. Agreed. Hope everything ends well for the young man.
  16. Maybe there is a young coach in the NFL. Look at what Brady did for LSU in one year. Get him and Venables as DC and go from there.
  17. Right. Lets be honest. You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. The game is more than just regurgitating statistics and you don't even do that well. Hepa was quarantined in Alaska for many months and couldn't even get to a gym. As far as Baker is concerned, he has his reasons and you are no one to judge him or anyone else on the team. Of course, you don't understand. An extra year of education at UT is a huge opportunity but according to you, you never even made it to UT so you don't get it. Stick to what you do best...reporting on the next hot 16 year old..
  18. This is correct and is a great move by both of the young men. This is a positive for them and the team. They still may get playing time but want to focus on becoming better players and from what I understand, both of them went to Coach Smart. He didn't go to them.
  19. Have you been tested? 😁
  20. You beat me to him. I would think that Les Alexander may have been another and didn't Red start out with nothing as well.
  21. Thanks for the responses. I will partially agree about the comments of the owners. Granted some may have been born with a silver spoon in their mouths but some started with nothing and took risks to get where they are now. Many of you may be looking at the end results rather than where they started. But agree on Tortilla.
  22. Guys, got a money question. I had Rocket season tickets from 79-95. I recognize that things are much different but today it seems like salaries are out of control. I don't begrudge any kid from making as much as they can but it seems like things are getting out of control. 5.10,20 million a year contracts are the norm. Are the TV revenues great enough to support these salaries? Just curious for some opinions. Thanks.
  23. Thanks Monkey.
  24. We're going to be Cleveland when Ted Stepien was the owner.
  25. Obviously I know about Allen but help me out on the other players. Thanks.
