  1. My grandfather's family was from Poland. He got out years earlier but some of his family didn't. Fortunately your grandparents got out.
  2. They gassed members of my family. They were not victims.
  3. You're the only one that has no clue. No one needs you to temper anything. You're not that smart and thats not opinion, thats fact. When some guarantees something thats their opinion and you are no one to tell the posters he's wrong. All of the crap you are posting is from high school and you have no clue what will happen in college. You probably laughed when Rick offered Ivey.
  4. How can you be honest about him when he may not even be on campus yet. You have no clue what he is going to do when he gets here. Your problem is that you have no understanding of the game and thats why you have to keep posting stats thinking that it makes your point when it doesn't. I don't care how many points he scored, I want to see how he plays as a member of our team playing against real competition.
  5. Posters have the same right to their opinions as you do. That doesn't make one right and one wrong. Talk about walking stuff back, thats exactly what you did with Sims. No one is bigger ass than you. For a brief moment, some of your posts sounded like you were willing to listen to what others said but that was just a head fake and you're back to your usual self. Too bad.
  6. Earl, this crap was funny the first 50000 times. Now not so much. Lets drop it
  7. I want him near the basket when a shot goes up not necessarily to post up. He doesn't have the strength to do so. I don't want Capella shooting 3s. I want Harden, Paul, Tucker, Gordon, Anderson, etc shooting 3s. When he gets stronger, he won't have the same problems as he had in college.
  8. He has a huge wingspan and can move rather well. Thats why you want to teach him to set a screen and roll to the basket like Harden and Capella. No one in the league can stop him once he gets proficient at that. You're making my point. I don't want him posting low until he gets stronger. Capella was a big part of the Rockets offense and Bamba can be the same. And lets not forget that there are 2 ends of a court. He can be a monster on defense and thats more important than working on your 3 point shot.
  9. No one is saying that he isn't going to grow. I want him near the basket and let the 3 point guys do their thing. If there is a situation where he can take a 3, thats one thing but to make that part of his offense isn't why he's going to be drafted so highly.
  10. This isn't college. He will do what the coaches tell him to do. They aren't going to select him for what he can do on the perimeter. Thats nonsense.
  11. BigO, I would like to see him pattern his game like Capella assuming his team has a reliable point guard. Once he gets stronger, I agree with you. He can become one of the best in the NBA.
  12. We played in Fayettenam in the early 70s at the old Barnhill. It was as big as OU if not bigger because it was a conference game. Back then Fayettenam was a pit. The airport consisted of a runway and if the pilot could see the runway, they landed. If not, good luck. As much as we hated them, they hated us even more. They had a chip on their shoulders because they were the only non Texas team in the SWC and they always thought the refs were biased against them and that was a big reason why they ultimately left. They still haven't gotten over the 69 game. Interestingly the fan bases hate each other but one of the nicest players that I met from another team was a kid who played for pig. Really a nice guy. Those were the good ole days and its a shame that many of you didn't get to experience the old SWC. Just my .02
  13. What these threads need is less of you.
  14. 12, remember that you're arguing with someone who said that Sims was just going to be a JAG because of his freshman stats while someone like Fran Fraschella said that he thought that Sims might be the best athlete in the Big12.
  15. What matters is that the young man comes to Austin, gets a great education, works hard, is a great teammate and helps the team be successful. I'll leave the statistical crap to those that think thats important.
  16. Roach was recruited by Coach Smart when he came to Texas. Roach committed to Texas previously but Coach Smart convinced him to stay. He may be the only 4 year senior. DO has been here 3 years. Long has now been here 2 years and so have the sophomores. Senior leadership is the ideal situation but Coach Smart has a team with more experience recruited by him than he has the 3 previous years. You really don't understand but keep telling yourself that you do. Again, go watch a video.
  17. Its wrong because you have no true understanding of the sport. When exactly did Roach play for Rick. He is a 4th year senior under Coach Smart and he has never had that before. Being one of the coach's players is far different than inheriting players. Maybe there is a video to explain it to you. This will be DO's third year in the program and the shorthorns becoming sophomores will be huge. Also having Long should be a huge help. This will be Coach Smart's first experienced team.
  18. Mac, that is correct. Its one thing to inherit seniors when taking over a program. Its something else to recruit them and have them go through your program.
  19. dogbreath, thanks for posting. Its tough to explain how important upper class leadership is and this is Coach Smart's first team with any. I disagree on Young but everything else you mentioned is correct.
  20. Mr. Ramey, welcome to your son to the Longhorn Basketball Family. Work hard, study hard and play hard and have a wonderful life during and after college. A great adventure for him starts today.
  21. Lets stick to talking about the Texans. I really don't enjoy beating up on anyone unless its friendo and no one deserved it more than he did.
  22. Ponytail Man, that is true. She went to the Army to show them her ideas and at first, didn't give her the time of day. She persisted and they finally agreed with what she had invented.
  23. Actually they didn't until 67.
  24. From 1948 to 1967, the Arab could care less about the west bank or Jerusalem. Then the Israelis took over after winning in battle and thats when the Arabs started to care. Its like a little kid playing with a toy and all of a sudden his brother who has never shown interest in the toy now wants to play with it.
