  1. Whoever came up with that narrative is foolish. How many freshmen were going to take minutes away from Carr, Hunter or Rice. As far as Mitchell, he had no game and you had Disu, Bishop and Allen who were established. Also, kids show the greatest development after their freshman year offseason and before their soph year. Kids have to understand that they need to develop and put in the work to do so. Some schools are forced to play freshmen out of necessity.
  2. The portal and the NIL are the new norms and you will absolutely have to rerecruit some of the kids every year. It's not appropriate to say that losing Holland is inexcusable until we know why he left. Many posters do not understand that there are numerous reasons why a kid commits to a school or decides to go elsewhere. Sometimes it could be the coach but if it's due to lack of playing time, that's on the young man. Sometimes you have to wait your turn.
  3. If we have 11 scholarship kids, then 2 walk ons may get the last 2. The only way a walk on gets a scholarship if there are any leftover once the roster is settled.
  4. Sad. It always hurts when you lose a teammate. RIP Lance.
  5. Most don't know this but his nickname back in the day was the Black Greggym. True.
  6. Braff, thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. Let me tell you why I go after derka and feel free to tell me I'm wrong. Everyone is entitled to post their opinions. But when he posts his opinion, he thinks it's fact. You have seen this dozens of times where someone will voice a different opinion and he attacks them as they are wrong because they disagree with him. He also gets so worked up about this stuff and it's extremely unhealthy IMO. I think that he posted in the past about some health issues and this just makes things worse. He has every right to post as much as he wants but he needs to calm down when disagreeing with another poster. One other thing., a while back I thought that a couple of posters were taking a cheap shot and so I responded in kind. I was fortunate that fletch sent me a private message because he could tell that I didn't understand the posts that we made about me. He explained that they were not taking cheap shots at me but rather laughing with me He explained to me that their comments were actually lines from a famous movie that I was unaware of. So there are times when it's me. But most of the time my posts are brilliant. I am like the 5 star kid that doesn't go to the various camps, so I get only 3 stars. The inhumanity. Again, I appreciate your post.
  7. The athletic dept still considers me to be part of the program.
  8. I am going to make a suggestion but you're probably not going to listen. You need to lighten up. Seriously. It's one thing to be an enthusiastic fan but you are way over the edge. You're going to give yourself a heart attack. These are 18 and 19 year old kids. Most have been pampered since they were 12. These kids think that they can come to school and dominate from Day 1. When it doesn't happen, it's always someone else's fault. They have "uncles" who are looking for a payday and will listen to anyone that gets their ear. No one on this site including you wants this program to be more successful than me. And it's not even close. Quit hanging on to everything these kids say. Just lighten up and see how things play next season. Just calm down.
  9. In fairness to Alan, he was the only one armed point guard in NBA history.
  10. You should probably take everything a 17 yar old says with a grain of salt.
  11. Sometimes it's the coaches fault and quite often it's something else.
  12. It wasn't a lack of development. When you go from one level to the next, there is an adjustment period, and some adjust faster than others. Mitchell was super athletic and that's how he made it in high school. He comes to college and it's a new game. Morris was stuck behind Carr, Hunter and Rice were going to get most of the playing time. If he came back, he probably would have seen his minutes dramatically increase. You develop during the offseason and gain experience during the season.
  13. The reason that you may give a walk on a scholarship is if you have any extras available. Say at the last minute a scholarship kid leaves, the coaches may want to reward the walk on with that extra scholarship. Walk ons receiving a scholarship are not taking one away from another player. It more of a reward for someone who is really working hard and may be able to contribute when an extra scholarship is available. And sometimes a walk on can surprise and be a valuable asset to the team..
  14. Braff, there was no point. I made a couple of comments about not getting too excited about what is going on in practice. I made a comment about let's see what happens when the lights come on which is another way of meaning when the games are played. That was my comment. The idiot t shirt fan made a comment about Rice. I never mentioned him or anyone else but when you have no clue like the idiot t shirt guy, you have to make up crap.
  15. Great job, coaches and players. Roster beginning to shape up.
  16. Maybe you can get some of your goyim buddies to make up the difference.
  17. Maybe my eyesight is getting bad, but I could have sworn that I saw him on Star Trek years ago, but he was a lot smaller and a lot furrier.
  18. It's not about finding a better coach. It's about finding the right coach.
  19. I can't believe that they didn't call me. Probably couldn't find my cell number.
  20. Hi Fletch, hope all is well. Have a great weekend.
  21. The Longhorn Basketball Family is excited to have Coach Terry. T No one cares what you think. Thanks for your note because you have been wrong on every post you have made here.
  22. Congrats Coach. Job well done. Looking forward to the future with you as the head of the program.
