  1. This could be a dumb question, but why do they require at least one tire change? That seems like it could be an interesting strategy wrinkle at certain tracks.
  2. What's up with Day's pants? Was he inspired by the TJ/Melo/Perk commercial?
  3. Thanks for posting. Super interesting. We need to reconcile with our past to work towards a better future at UT.
  4. We got about 10 minutes of hail at Balcones and 2222. Not quite golfball but bigger than I had seen in years. I was worried my skylights were about to crack. Loud as shit.
  5. They know that our alums have a lot of expendable money to waste.
  6. About to come here and say something similar. They left it in a good spot with some storylines closed and some open. It would be a good place to stop. I just don't know what kind of traction this has gotten. It seems pretty light, but I could be wrong. Season 2 was terrific throughout though. Fuck that FBI lady.
  7. Man, he hates that so much. Got out of there ASAP. I felt like the seasons after the long break after season 8 were really uneven. Leon was pretty hit or miss and he was the most common foil to Larry. I think Cheryl’s incredulousness was missed. That said, the finale was great and it went out on a high
  8. Clark is obviously the best on her team but she has been pressing for most of the 4th.
  9. Seems weird. Maybe they’re talking about refunding of the deposits to get a Cybertruck?
  10. Can I ask where you get your info from? Legitimately curious. “Cancer doctors/nutritionists just don’t want to get involved in preventing cancer” isn’t going to make me throw the advice I have gotten in the trash, but I could be convinced to keep a better eye on carbs/sugar.
  11. I've asked multiple doctors and nutritionists specifically about sugar intake. This includes doctors and nutritionists at MD Anderson. They all say natural sugars are good, but it's good to stay away from added sugars. Mostly, due to added sugars just being unhealthy and cancer appearing/recurring in unhealthy individuals. Not a direct link. Just FYI on my discussions but others may have heard differently.
  12. CC from Little Hurricane isn't the best drummer ever, but she has other talents. Namely, being hot as fuck
  13. Legitimately one of the coolest live music stories I've ever heard. Maybe the coolest. Definitely a story your whole family will be sharing for years on end. That said, I am laughing at your daughter telling her friends that story. "That's awesome! What did the hat say?" She looks down, shuffles her feet and sheepishly mutters, "a trucker hat with 'I love girls' on it".
  14. Hill thinks Houston’s best player should sit out against Duke? Strange….
  15. Cryer had to make that lay up. Brutal miss.
  16. Giving a shit goes a long way
  17. Did I hear them say Vescovi has the flu and is in the locker room? Am I crazy or should they get him the fuck out of there?
  18. We are donors at The Paramount and they had an event on Wednesday. They screened "20 Feet From Stardom", which I hadn't seen in a decade. About backup singers throughout the decades. It is so good and joyful. A wonderful watch.
  19. Christ, Love was completely useless that game. What a no show.

That makes total sense. Their 25-30 years is very varied. That said, they have Britt's voice and the just off-kilter sound dissonance and soundscape maximalism that is always unmistakably Spoon.

We didn't do much this year, except for Luck Reunion and bouncing around South Congress on Sat. We caught English Teeth and were about to leave until they introduced Britt and we stayed for his songs. I don't know much about The Replacements, but Alex Chilton definitely could have fit right in on Girls Can Tell. Pretty obvious that Britt was influenced by them early on. Thanks for posting. Luck was a great time, once again. I have been 6 (7?) times now. Just love it. My favorite set of the day was Texas Wild with Walker Lukens and The Texas Gentlemen. It was all covers of Texas artists with special guests throughout. From what I remember, but I am missing a few: The Texas Gentlemen - That's Right (You're Not from Texas) Walker Lukens - "Cheap Sunglasses" David Ramirez - "All my Exes Live in Texas" Not sure who they were - "Say My Name" Steve Earle - DIdn't know the song Rainbow Girls - "Goodbye Earl" Sarah Jaffe - "Angel Flying too Close to the Ground" Vaden Todd Lewis (Toadies) - "Since You've Been Gone" Matthew Logan Vasquez (Delta Spirit) - "Pancho and Lefty" It was just one of those transcendent live music sets that has everyone locked in and having a great time. So joyful. "Since You've Been Gone" brought the fucking house down.
  22. Mariko couldn't even finish translating because she knew that was a one way train to fucktown.
  23. In. The original was one of my favorites and I liked the last one.
