I have Star Wars fatigue after the last Mandalorian season but that may bring me back. Looks awesome.

I’d be curious to see the seasonal cycles. With the sports calendar being pretty empty this time of year, that could be affecting this. I feel like Twitter is especially active during big sports events. -
The world is made for people who aren’t cursed with self awareness.
A perfect sentence. That’s Isbell-level shit right there.- 1

I love Jon Batiste having the time of his life behind Juvenile.

Jeremy Allen White is the weakest part of this show.
The character he plays or the actor? I could see an argument for the character, but not for the actor. -
I wonder if my limit includes the 150 adds for bullshit companies I had to scroll through over the last day.

Just started for me too. I am logged into the Twitter app but every time I try to view a tweet from Tapa, it asks for my login. Fuck that.

Every episode was named after something on the menu in finale, I believe. Even Pop.
I didn’t love the texts on Marcus’ phone at end. We already have the main character conflicted between those he cares about and the job. I don’t need the other.
The biggest mistake even good TV shows make is contrived conflict/drama. When I am watching a show like The Bear or any good TV show and I am trained to expect the other shoe to drop when something good happens, because it always does in TV drama. And then it doesn’t. That is some of my favorite TV, frankly. Richie’s arc in Forks is a great example of that.
No one is counting shoes.- 4

Bummer it’s ending, whatever the reason. They have really been on one this season. That Applebee’s episode was incredible.

Rewatched Man on Fire for maybe the 5th time. Maybe my favorite Denzel movie.
Is the opinion that Man On Fire >>>> Training Day a crazy statement for the rest of you?
No, this is the correct opinion.- 2

Fishes and Forks are a perfect pair.
After the stress of Fishes we decided to roll the dice on the next episode instead of watching a different show and were handsomely rewarded.- 3

Only person that can stop him now is himself.
He’s trying -
Honestly, he should have just gone after Trudy. She’s the hottest one and would have been a “fuck you” to that grimy little pimp Pete Campbell.

I got garbage, noel gallagher and metric tonight at starplex.
Seeing 90’s bands. I’m using the 90’s name for the venue.
Not sure a username has ever checked out more- 3

This is probably a dumb question, but what is the reason for reducing the libraries? Is there an ongoing cost for them (I didn’t think so as that is part of the WGA fight) or is it just a way to have a huge tax write off for things that aren’t driving revenue? Some of both?

You Hurt My Feelings
My wife and I really enjoyed it. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a legend (not sure how she keeps getting better looking...maybe I'm just getting older) and the movie is very funny. It's an easy 90-minute low stakes movie about the small lies we tell each other to keep everyone afloat. I really enjoyed Enough Said, the last Louis-Dreyfus/Nicole Holofcener movie and this was in a similar lane.
Highly recommended for a fun/easy watch at the end of a long week.

Pay it forward had me dying when the lady behind him backed up and started ordering 55 burgers and 55 fries.
Halfway through but this is my favorite so far. Killed me when that happened.
This show is hit or miss but its’ hits are about as good as it gets. -
However you dice it up, looking through that list is a reminder of how much truly great TV HBO has put up over the last 25 years. No other network has 10% of the essential TV they have put out.

On 2/5/2023 at 5:05 PM, Stringer said:We’re planning a Thank You dinner for my friends next month for everyone who helped us over the last 6 months. When I think about what I’m going to say about my wife, I tear up every time. She has been unbelievable. She is a successful real estate lawyer, is on the board of the Thinkery children’s museum, we have a 3 and 6 year old at home, we are working on a home addition and she takes care of my leukemia riddled ass. I got the best one there is.
Going down to Houston for round 6 of 6 next week. From there, we just keep our fingers crossed that it doesn’t come back. If it does, we go to marrow transplant. I really hope we don’t have to do that as it can be pretty dangerous. At the very least, I should be “normal” for a time even if it does come back. The 2 year mark is the big one and then 5 year mark. After that, the chances of relapse are low.
Good luck to all of you guys. I am very happy that we’re going through this now and not decades ago. The advances are crazy and I hope they keep coming. My doctor said they are hoping for a pill to take care of leukemia orally in the next 10-15 years. Insane stuff.Quoting myself for a little follow up.
After 6 rounds, the levels were really low, but there, so we moved to a trial oral drug. A couple of weeks into that, the cancer cells showed strong signs of regeneration. It's not back yet, but it's coming sooner than later. So, we are going to transplant as soon as we get insurance approvals (our medical system is broken) and get a donor set up. Donors are identified, but they can't schedule until insurance is approved.
Basically, once we're all set, I'm going to Houston for roughly 100 days, 30ish in the hospital and 70ish isolated in an apartment near MD Anderson. I can have one visitor at a time and need 24/7 monitoring when I get to the apartment. I can't see my kids (3 and 6) the whole time we're going through this as they are germ factories. I'm going to be super tired and beaten down the entire time and the recovery is brutal. That's if things go great.
There is a also a 10-15% chance of mortality. So, I could leave my house in a few weeks and never see my kids again. I know that's true of everyone at any time, but it's different when you're choosing (right or wrongly) to put yourself in that position. The good news is I am a healthy (you know, other than cancer) 41 year old with very good donor matches. I am also going to be at MD Anderson where they do this all of the time and have a whole floor of just bone marrow transplants. That decreases the mortality chances.
It's going to be tough road, but as long as I get to the other side, I don't care how hard it is. Godspeed to all of you guys.

I just started The Other Two. A Schitt’s Creek vibe but raunchier. Enjoying it so far. Good cast.
My wife and I love it. Great mix of absurdity, grounded humor and pathos. Molly Shannon has had a really strong second act over the past 5 years or so.

I just love that Fran Drescher is leading this thing.
