  1. Watching the replay now and in the warm ups Simone was way off on her vault and the commentator said that he had never seen her like that. She just hasn’t been right for a while. I realize the desire to compare to if KD or another basketball player asks out of a game, but I don’t think it compares. If his head isn’t right, he goes 2-15 shooting, but can maybe help in other ways. Chuck Knoblauch can hit a HR if he has the throwing yips. She can’t help in any other way. Literally the only thing she can do is fly through the air/stay on the balance beam/etc. if she can’t do those things due to her mental state, I don’t know what other choice she has. She simply can’t help the team and is putting herself at risk. Everyone (including her, I’m sure) wishes it was brought up earlier. It may have been dealt with earlier and she could have gotten help before the games. It’s clear she’s had issues from at least the trials.
  2. The Strug moment was undoubtedly cool. Also, maybe it was fucking stupid? Her reaction after it was over was not one of joy. "Athlete A" on Netflix is more about Nassar, but it also has a section where it reframes the Strug moment.
  3. I could be wrong, but I don't think people say to themselves, "you know, I think I may have a mental breakdown in 7 days, I shouldn't go." Not really how that works.
  4. Caught the end of that one. USA down 11-9 in the 3rd but scored 6 straight to win. Also, yes on the blonde Latvian.
  5. That Belgium/Japan 3 on 3 game was hilariously bad. I couldn’t stop watching.
  6. I just flipped through a bunch of scenes from the back half of the season to get hype and this show is phenomenal. It has humor and positivity, but isn't afraid to get serious when needed, like Ted's panic attack and the divorce scenes. Top notch all the way around.
  7. Someone on my team had a breakthrough case he found out about yesterday. He got it from his cousin who was in town from Amsterdam. Apparently, he wasn't vaxxed and they were out all last weekend. I'm out at my in-laws house in Steiner since they are at their place in CO. So, because this prick from Amsterdam wanted to party in Austin, I have to rearrange my life, leaving my two young kids and wife who works past midnight every night. It's not awful having a quiet house to myself, but definitely feel helpless right now. Getting a test tomorrow, so fingers crossed. From what I understand, vaxxed breakthrough transmission to other vaxxed people is extremely rare. We'll see. I hope I can go home tomorrow.
  8. Delroy Lindo is awesome in his limited screen time.
  9. LOL. If UT told the SEC they would come in if A&M was kicked out, Sankey would take 5 minutes to boot A&M.
  10. Haven’t heard, so I assume that means I got them?

I think they shoot the cars like horses.

The stakes could not be higher for these teams, so I get the working of the refs. These are the only two drivers and constructors who have a realistic shot at the title and with Perez down in last, could make both title races basically even.
  13. Man, Marvel is throwing a shit ton of balls in the air. We’ll see if they can juggle them to make something coherent. Hope they can. Overall, a good 6 episode series. The premier was still the best episode to me.

Darke/Twellman on the call? If you’re going to make me listen to Twellman for 2 hours, you at least have to give me Jon Champion.

Unreal set up. It’s like you’re there.
  16. That missed shot at the net up 40-0 broke her brain

That’s a dive. Not sure the Denmark guy even touched him

Leicester fans torn on that one.

Yeah if you give Norris his, you have to give Perez one too. Seems harsh but needs to be consistent.

Verstappen already getting separation. He is in the fucking zone right now.

That pass on Denmark’s second was unreal. First time on the outside of the foot and it just floats to Dolberg. Beautiful.
  22. Yes. Also…still would.
  23. I never understood y'alls hate for Dawn. Maybe I was watching a different show. She did kind of screw Sarah on the Restaurant Wars, but it wasn't on purpose and she admitted the next week that she should have handled things differently. Beyond that, she seemed to be intense, but well liked by everyone around her. Her inability to plate was frustrating. I did read an interview with Tom and he said that contestants miss items on plates all the time. The issue is, all of the guests this season were the ones being filmed, so it seemed like a much bigger issue than it normally is. As far as her abilities, I don't think she was that far behind Gabe and Shota at all. In the elimination challenges (before the finale), this is how it looked (Win/Otherwise Top/Bottom): Gabe: 3/3/2 Shota: 4/5/1 Dawn: 1/6/2 She also won 3 QF, compared to 1 for Shota and 1 for Gabe. Overall, before the finale, she performed below Shota but about the same as Gabe, and maybe better if you include QF. Anyway, I was rooting for Gabe (before the AAS story this morning), but would have been fine with Shota or Dawn. I thought it was a really fun season overall, especially considering the limitations due to COVID. I liked having the old contestants back to judge and I'm not sure you can do that in normal times.
  24. We had a 3pm flight today on Southwest to Denver for the family (me, wife, 1 YO and 4YO) and they canceled our flight at 10:30am. By the time we saw it and got on the site, everything was booked until late tomorrow. That would basically waste a day of the trip and had a layover in Houston, which is not ideal with two kids that age. So, we booked a flight on Frontier (ugh) tomorrow morning. Anyone have any info on the South Terminal? Our flight home is on United, so is there a car issue on where to park. Is there a shuttle between the terminals I can pick up? Just grab a cab?

That’s a weird one to judge.
