  1. That shortstop fielding practice has really paid off for our pitchers this season. They’ve been great defenders.
  2. I think there's a distinct difference between polls and postseason seedings. I don't mind if Arkansas is ranked higher than Texas given they just beat our ass 3 days in a row and don't have that many more losses than we do. Overall body of work seems to matter more for me for regional seedings. But what do I know? In the end, polls don't mean shit unless you're ranked 1 when it's all said and done.
  3. If the season ended today, I can’t see UGA being the top overall seed. I also don’t think they’ll have SEC straight top-five. However, I do think it’ll mirror RPI more than the weekly polls.
  4. Agreed with both points. Selection Monday is going to be really interesting. I bet there’s a lot of disconnect between the weekly polls and the regional seeds.
  5. Much of the SEC is likely overrated this season. What else is new?
  6. Here’s to hoping. Need to get Belyeu, Mendoza, and Rodriguez fully healthy, and hopefully today helps get Jalin out of his funk at the plate. Honestly, not a bad time in the season for them to remember their shit still stinks and they have to take every game and every series seriously with true focus. Only eight regular-season games left and then it’s go time.
  7. I would certainly like to, but Arkansas finishes with LSU and Tennessee. Texas should have the easier finish, especially with a two-game lead.
  8. He will. He has all season. He wants keep winning series and win the SEC in his first year. That's why he did the following: After Riojas, Texas used two pitchers (Howard and Navarre) who haven't pitched in any conference game of substance this season. Howard's only previous appearance was in the 8-2 loss to LSU. And, all things considered, Howard did exceedingly well. Went 3.1 with only 1 hit, no runs, 3 SO, 1 BB, and 1 HBP.
  9. Well, flush this one down the shitter and move on.
  10. Nope. All sun in F’nam, right now.
  11. I have no idea what the opportunity cost (other projects in your roadmap) is, but many of us would greatly appreciate you doing this. The UX is worse now.
  12. I agree this is all true. I laid that out in more detail on page 97. However, ideally, we'd have three or four of five players on the court be credible threats from distance at any given time. That may just be my basketball strategy bias, but it's where the game is nowadays - especially when shooting percentages for good three-point shooting guards are close to their overall fg percentage. It just makes statistical sense to create more looks from beyond the arc. Combine that with Texas' ability on the offensive glass, as well as typically winning the TO battle, and you can create more of a point spread shooting more threes. Again, I'm hopeful this is the direction Vic is looking given who has targeted in the portal this offseason.
  13. Thankfully, this series is not in Austin. I guess they would have had to move today's match up to early afternoon and play two on Saturday -or- one or Saturday and one on Sunday. Austin is going to get pounded this evening and tomorrow. However, based on where the rain is projected to fall, it should do wonders for the Lower Colorado watershed.
  14. Don't worry, it could be worse. You're not Ian Boyd level of asinine postion change takes... yet.
  15. I know it's a joke, but they play entirely different WR positions
  16. Damn. I hope we can convince Phelia not to transfer (unless it's an inability to get medically clear here). We need the three-point shooting!
  17. Again, as it has been said, the WR is supposedly a graduate transfer, so they don't have to enter the portal. So, I don't take this as it's not still a possibility because they didn't enter before the portal closed.
  18. Surly Horns in the pole position of your bookmarks. #priorities
  19. Wasn't there mutual interest at the time but what actually happened was Augie told Schloss not to take it because of how dysfunctional the AD was/had been under Patterson and to wait until that was no longer the case? I could have sworn Schloss said that/it came out after he was hired here.
  20. Especially if you have to go back to Williamson County from Austin. They're just waiting to pull you over for anything they deem a "DWI behavior." Which, is basically anything they want. They just want to pull you over to ask you if you've been drinking. Sounds like the entire Texas Football team needs a seminar on what you should and shouldn't do after hours and how to interact with police officers.
  21. Lips to my tip routinely makes my day, as well. Also, @Js1, I first read that as "my new tits" and thought congratulations were in order for you.
  22. But not in the top 1 Cross-posting something I said in another thread: Also, holy shit. While looking at Missouri's RPI, I just noticed that West Virginia is also 37-5 (RPI 15 - which tells you their schedule is trash). And when I look, indeed, the schedule they have played thus far is absolutely terrible. Plus, they dropped the one series against a good team they've played (Arizona, 30-13, RPI 26), and they still have to play @Kansas State (26-18, RPI 43) and against Kansas (35-10, RPI 21). There's something to be said about winning 37 games and only losing 5, especially in baseball, but they really haven't played many (maybe two?) teams that will make the postseason. The two best records of any team they've beaten after the one game against AZ in that series lost are Jacksonville (26-16) and Cincinnati (24-20).
