  1. Need this win. I really want to be a one seed come tournament time.
  2. Damn, I knew Chicago produced a shit ton of talent, but not that much (this is me assuming that Illinois number is clustered in Chicago)
  3. This. If Texas wins this game, it's because SCar doesn't have a Kamilla Cardoso on the court today.
  4. Sir, I believe you mean "Smiley!"
  5. I've noticed our guards don't really utilize the post screens at the three-point line to their full advantage. They're consistency leaving space for their defender to easily go over the screen instead of dribbling tight against the screener.
  6. I agree. I'll also say that (I think) a fully weaponized Texas is a better program than the same at Indiana because of corporate NIL opportunities in Austin vs. small-town Indiana. Hopefully, we get to test that premise one of these days. That being said, who knows what Cuban might throw at the program if they actually became consistently good. His first ultra successful business was built because he wanted to listen to IU games over the internet.
  7. Booker throwing up bricks, but Oldacre is seriously saving her ass.
  8. I'm not trying to be a dick, but all of that is a much different argument than "If you go to Indiana you have to recruit nationally. If you come to Texas you can go get six guys from Dallas every year and win 25 games if you know what you're doing." All great programs recruit nationally. Texas and Indiana both have great state and regional recruiting bases. Either one, with a great coach, is a top-tier job and has the NIL support to justify it. I also agree that Texas has more collective high school talent than Indiana. That's certainly true.
  9. Yep. This is my exact concern about this team's upside. We'll see what happens
  10. Not a great start. SC looked like they had much more intensity those first two minutes.
  11. Yep. We know SC will go on a run and DS will make good adjustments. Need to match the intensity and keep up the confidence to counter the run.
  12. For real. Even with the little adjustment, Lee still got to the spot first.
  13. That was a fucking charge. WTF.
  14. Damn. Another post outruns the defense for an easy score.
  15. The only thing that worries me is the lack of consistent three-point shooting. That being said, if we play smothering defense like this, combined with a significant rebounding advantage (especially on the offensive boards), they for sure can win it all. I just don't feel like Texas matches up well with a team that can shoot the three well, like ND.
  16. Lee needs to look to shoot off those curl screens. She has had looks.
  17. 100%. They keep hitting shooters/posts on shots. Like it or not, they're fouls.
  18. Man, I wish Jones wasn't in her final year. She's really developed into a great player. She draws so many defensive fouls and creates foul trouble for opponents.
  19. Early Justice Carlton sighting. Separately from that, Texas needs to adjust to SC running the floor after defensive rebounds. Already cost us twice.
  20. That wasn't partially blocked?
  21. Oh, for sure. Painter, his staff, and program consistency certainly plays an outsized role in Purdue's success. However, much like any causal relationship/system, there tend to many variables of material influence. My original rebuttal only meant to challenge the incorrect notion that Indiana doesn’t serve as a sufficient college basketball recruiting base. That state churns out plenty of quality DI basketball players. In any event, a weaponized IU Basketball program can tap into that pool, as well as recruit nationally. If someone like Beard gets hired there, they’ll be very good very quickly.
