  1. He didn't play much, but based solely on his PFF scores, he's not ready.
  2. If Williams is gone, Texas certainly needs Taaffe back and probably needs another competent safety from the portal.
  3. Probably couldn't pass a Enzyme Immunoassay for cocaine or already blew up on somebody in the building. Either way, I bet it's Cook.
  4. It's a good thing the schedule seems rather backloaded (outside of the OSU game to begin the season and UF at five).
  5. You haven't disliked a player more in Texas history than Cam Williams? WTF. Why? He was inconsistent and drew penalties, but was also downright dominate at times. He wasn't a program problem or a shithead though. He wasn't even the most frustrating player on the Oline this season. To me, Conner getting stonewalled at the LOS and completely whiffing multiple times per game while pulling was infuriating.
  6. It doesn't matter if they sign anymore. Plus, there is a spring window.
  7. @Longhornlove - just let the uninformed keep looking haha.
  8. Yeah, it's MM. Honestly, losing him will suck, but it's better than losing any of the three above. we have some young corners with a lot of potential.
  9. CTJ has basically told us MM is gone, but this all but confirms it if this is how our 9.95ers are talking. Black is going to be one of the starters; so if Wilson and Phillips are battling for the other spot, MM is gone. \
  10. Are you under the illusion or assumption that anyone is "running" college football?
  11. FUCK OHIO STATE (and its shitty fans)
  12. Exactly. A "mobile" QB is basically table stakes in football nowadays. They don't need to be Vince Young, Tebow, Jackson, etc. However, they need to be able to evade pressure, move the pocket, and at least present the threat to run. I'm not a "Ewers hater," but his upside is limited due to his lack of mobility and inconsistent pocket presence. He could only dream of doing this (timestamped) instead of falling down to protect himself:
  13. I wonder what they are if you remove sack yardage. It's still not a lot, but probably much less stark. Also, you must admit that Penix is much more mobile than Ewers - even post knee and other injuries. Go back and watch him navigate Texas' pressure last CFP. Ewers can't do what Penix did.
  14. Bond probably goes pro, but as others have said, sounds like he won't be back no matter what (time-stamped for convenience): Overall predictions for draft-eligible juniors: Quinn: declare Blue: likely to declare, slight transfer, tiny chance to return Golden: declare Bond: declare or transfer, but gone either way Banks: declare Williams: more likely to declare than return Campbell: likely to return Moore: up in the air, but more likely to return at this time Taaffe: likely to return Auburn: as of a week ago, likely to return to Texas. This was before he didn't see the field against OSU Predictions for the Portal: more DL numbers, especially if Moore declares the right OL guy, if there is one safety, if Taaffe declares maybe TE, depending on Niblack
  15. 100%. Dropped his head, led with his crown, and had helmet-to-helmet contact.
  16. He didn't call the blitz, I'm sure. Your other sentences encapsulate my thoughts.
  17. Ohio State has played it pretty damn well too. But I agree with you, Sark has been the top with maybe one or two others.
  18. Yeah. I’m not concerned the dude is Charlie Strong. Sark is a top 10% head coach, at least. I’m concerned he’s Franklin or Mike Martin (college baseball reference).
  19. We have not played for a CFP title since Sark has been here. I’m not saying we can’t and he won’t lead us there. I’m saying he’s getting in his own way and needs to learn from it.
  20. Improvement alone isn’t the standard. Texas Football has enough talent and resources (especially now in the NIL era) to expect to be playing for and winning titles semi regularly. Texas played a good enough game to win. Coaching mistakes were the difference. There were others, too. Not just those two.
  21. You also don’t call a blitz when the other team must drive 75 yards right before half and they won’t do it because they don’t have enough. It’s a well-known strategy to call a draw or screen in that situation. Our defensive call was terrible for those two plays. I’m concerned Sark can’t legitimately think like a HC in games because he’s too focused on offense. Those two plays cost us a chance to win.
  22. You can be “one of the best” and still need to improve. Shitty situational offensive and defensive play calling cost Texas the game.
  23. Change must happen regardless. We’ll have a new QB, either way. Hopefully Sark pairs it with better situational scheme.
