  1. Not a replay. That softball game is live. This baseball game is on ESPNNews and ESPN+
  2. Probably because Pierce is the pitching coach, our pitching largely sucks across the entire staff (starters to bullpen), and we got crushed by a terrible team while starting a position player. Also, you can think of 6-7 position players that started a game; or just appeared? Because I can’t think of starters, unless they were a legit two-way player, which JT is not in college.
  3. Not that one must be religious to guide their morality, but what's really going on here is that you've constructed your own moral compass that confirms and codifies any and all assumptions you conjure in that hateful skull of yours. Nothing we say is going to change your mind. However, there is mountains of evidence (from democratic countries all over the world) that show you are wrong.
  4. Except it is your problem. The most stabilizing force in the United States has been proven to be a reduction in childhood poverty. It also works in the inverse - i.e., it's the most impactful predictor of a child's life trajectory (spoiler - bad). Poor children aren't doing something malicious to have this happen to them. Not everyone can have jobs that pay them/their family above the median household income. How do we reduce childhood poverty without tax revenue? What's your idea for an alternative source of revenue for the federal government?
  5. Well, I'll be damned. Sheppard actually declared and forwent his remaining eligibility. I did not expect that to happen. I wonder how much the coaching change influenced it? The pre-draft workouts and scrimmages (G League Elite Camp) and the following combine in May are going to really alter these mocks - much more so than many years, I'd bet.
  6. Off-topic, but I'm curious why Schertz went to SLU from ISU. Is it that much better of a job? Does it pay that much better? I guess the A10 is more likely to get more than one team in the NCAA tournament, unlike the new MVC. His alma mater is FAU, so no ties there. I can't nail down an obvious reason.
  7. Meh, I'll gladly trade VB for any of these guys. I don't want to lose Collins. However, I'd trade Collins and VB for Toia and one of the Michigan DTs. Unless you're moneybags Max Merril, with the portal at a place like Texas, it's up or out.
  8. His entire recruiting history and his one year in college, thus far. Every sign points to him being "all about me," but not in a mature or professional "I'm going to maximize my value" type of fashion. It's more of a blatantly egocentric style, IMO. The next school he commits to will be his fourth (Miami, UF, ASU, next school) in a three-year period. Obviously, it's conjecture on my part. However, this type of timeline routinely indicates bust and/or locker room cancer.
  9. Even if he's not a bust on the field, he seems like a headcase who will duck out at any sign of adversity.
  10. It's also likely Texas won't end up at a perfect 85 scholarships, so maybe Bert is a recipient at that point over another walk-on player. Either way, I'm sure he is being taken care of if he is happy with the arrangement.
  11. Yeah, that was a very nice surprise. Overall, the starting pitching is remarkably good - especially with Pivetta healthy. This team can win plenty of low-scoring games. They just don’t have the offensive firepower or relief pitching to win more.
  12. Butler just fucked up his R knee on an awkward landing. Edit: he’ll continue for now, but it didn’t look good at first.
  13. I’m not sure that’s the case at WR. At least early in the season. Edit: I see this has been addressed.
  14. More curiosity and less of a leading question haha.
  15. Where does it say he’s entering the portal? That just says he’s maintaining college eligibility.
  16. I'd rather Tulo be one of the three paid assistants under the next head coach. I think he'd be a real asset on the trail and with hitting/defensive development.
  17. Well, that was a fun glimmer of hope while it lasted (really, just the first 10 games). My assumption is they cross under the .500 mark today and live there the remainder of the season. Let's not fuck up again next offseason, again. Okay, front office?...
  18. This is all fair. To be clear, my assumption is that Young "succeeds" at least at the historical level that BYU tends to. BYU Basketball seems to have a general floor of "make the tournament" success - although, this has been a tougher assumption the past 10 years. They're in a harder league now with a brand new and unproven coach, so we'll see. I do agree that this is a more inspiring hire than Kentucky's - from a general program prestige POV.
  19. While Young seems impressive based on what you said, he has practically no college coaching or recruiting experience, and none in the past 18 years. Tons of great college coaches have been poor fits in the NBA, and the inverse can also be true. I don't think it's a bad hire by any means, but it's also not a sure thing. It's more likely that BYU Basketball remains mildly successful, as they usually are.
  20. Yes, sorry. Head coach at SHSU --> Tulane --> Texas. I misremembered the order, but it doesn't change the point.
  21. It was one - petscii. You two are the only morons suggesting Texas hire a 4A high school coach as it's next head coach. Regardless, it's a moot point. That's just about the opposite of CDC's hiring method. Thank God he won't make such a stupid decision.
  22. He deserves to be neg-bombed into next week for this asinine comment. I'm not sure he's trolling.
