  1. Battled back from a 3-0 count to get that strikeout. Ace is a fighter. Love to see that considering the problems this staff has had.
  2. Well, for one, right now. It's not blown yet.
  3. Galvan reached on catcher's interference. The catcher's mit hit his bat on the back swing. Then, with the bases loaded, Gaspar got an RBI on an infield single. Then, PB had a terrible AB to end the inning on a SO.
  4. That’s not saying much. I may alter my viewpoint once I see what he pulls (or doesn’t) in the portal haha. Nevertheless, RT will be judged by W/Ls. Regardless, I love Texas Athletics and will vigorously follow the basketball program - same as I am with our schizophrenic baseball team, and with football when they stunk it up for 11 seasons straight (compared to the stint before it). Bottom line, I want RT to succeed, and I’m very excited to watch Tre Johnson next year, but I’m certainly not sold on RT as a long-term option. I hope like hell I’m wrong, though. The worst thing that could happen is he’s just another coach who makes the tourney, wins a game here and there, and this program stays relatively static - when it has so much potential. I think that’s why @shadow_operative is so upset about all of this. He doesn’t hate RT or something of the sort. In actuality, he’s deeply disappointed that Texas Basketball had a potential 20-year guy at the helm who then offed himself by being a damn fool before the going got really good. Then, Texas replaced him with someone who possesses (seemingly) way less potential for mega success without really conducting a search. I get it. I empathize with that sentiment. Again, though, RT must lose the job - which he definitely has not done at this point. If and when that happens, I’m confident in CDC to make a fantastic hire.
  5. I interrupt today's shitprogramming to bring you an OT post: Evaluating the Midway Point of Spring Football | Friday (CJ Vogel - OTF)
  6. There is absolutely no reason for O’Dowd to play. He doesn’t give this team any advantage in any regard. Even as a LHB against a RHP, he’s worse than his RHB counterpart would be. There is no excuse for such a poor player to be getting so much PT at a program like Texas in the days of NIL.
  7. Yep. Greenspoint with another dumb take. LBJ was great last season. This year, not so much.
  8. Alright, offense. Keep up the recent pace. Need to make this guy look like his ERA.
  9. Flores should have made that play.
  10. Porter? What did Porter do other than catch a FO?
  11. LBJ with two walks already. BB, K, Stolen base, BB.
  12. I know in your position you don’t want to provide too much, but can you speak to timeline at all?
  13. I read that username as "FoolsFanatic." It was an apropos mistake.
  14. Cool extrapolation seven games into a 162-game season. You only have 95.67% of the schedule left. However, and I’m going to regret saying this, but they do look pretty good.
  15. I think there are two distinct and separate arguments being merged together here. 1. Women definitely get inappropriately classified when doing the many of the exact same things men get a pass for doing. 2. Kim Mulkey is a POS person. I’m sure she has fallen victim to some of 1 in her life, but that’s not the reason she is/is viewed as 2. Also, as far as Bobby Knight. The dude died and he was a legend of a coach. Legends are often treated much more kindly when they die. He didn’t have the same “fond” reputation or sentiment when he was alive - unless you were one of his.
  16. Again, I started this thread, but RT has earned the right to be Texas' coach at this point. Four tournament wins in two years is above the norm for Texas. Likewise, he's going to have to lose the job, which he has not done at this point. We can speculate on his credentials all we want, but he's going to have to underachieve enough to get fired. Again, this has not happened. @shadow_operative, we understand (and agree) that he would not have been hired under a normal coaching search, but that's a moot point. RT has his work cut out for him in 2024-2025. Let's see what happens. The true build starts now.
  17. Jake Majors is allowed to drive a Lambo on lease while being a football player at Texas? Holy fuck. FIFY.
  18. Not a retort to your assertion, but we'll find out when she accepts her $5million Big3 contract.
  19. While I understand what you're saying, we better hope Mukuba is more successful - because that means Texas is impacted more positively at the safety position. Mukuba has more upside than Taafe in probably every trait. So, I want his potential realized. If it is, that realized potential will generate very impactful production and Texas Football will be better for it. That being said, Taafe provides very good depth and leadership in the safety room.
