  1. Yeah, unfortunately, scenarios from 1-3 to 4-0 are all real possibilities this week.
  2. This is the realistic ideal.
  3. 4-0 this week, or we riot. But seriously. Texas plays Abilene Christian (17-11, RPI 131) on Tuesday and BYU (11-14, 4-8, last place in the Big 12, RPI 134) Th/Fri/Sat - all at home. This is a conference series Texas absolutely needs to sweep. OU vs. OSU, KSU vs. UCF, and WVU vs KU this week. If Texas sweeps, they could be in/tied for first place come Sunday evening.
  4. Big 12 is currently third in overall RPI. As much as it seems the conference is down this season, RPI doesn't reflect it as much. However, things will continue to shake out. \
  5. While certain freak movements/impact/trauma certainly cause tendon and ligament tears, overcompensation due to other injuries, as well as overuse/improper recovery are the alternative primary culprits. The latter is the hypothesis around here given the style of play and cadence of Vic's practices, etc. No idea if it's true or not; but as @Js1 and others have pointed out, there seems to be a trend emerging. Additionally, female athletes are much more prone (eight times more likely) to ligament tears in their knees, especially ACL injuries. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37777208/
  6. He certainly might turn out to be if his mental attributes and drive match his physical gifts. He's a monster.
  7. I highly doubt he’d end up back at Texas. He’s not an elite talent at this point, and Sark won’t want to play games here again. He’s being recruited over in this year’s high school class, and they’re not wasting a portal slot on a guy who won’t have big production this season.
  8. Small sample size, it’s early, so bats aren’t up to stuff yet, and who knows who good the Mariners will be this season, but the starting pitching (and BP) has been really good.
  9. We wouldn’t be at all. We may actually like the Duncanville QB just as much/more.
  10. UCF is a pretty decent ball club. But yeah, Tech isn’t up to their prior caliber.
  11. All of the public schools in Georgia and Florida have an advantage on scholarship numbers due to their respective state programs. Frankly, none of the top public programs in either state should consistently underachieve. Both have great local talent pools and advantageous scholarship levers for academically gifted players. Top-tier public schools like GT, UF, and UGA have no excuse.
  12. 11-11. KSU with the bases loaded and two outs. Gage Boehm just walked in the tying run. Edit: he gets out of it with a ground out.
  13. Alright. Time for a double play to get out of this. Still don’t understand why he burned one of his best relievers last night.
  14. And when you shoot 3/24 from three. We talked about two weeks ago how this would cost them. Just keep chunking and not adjusting on offense.
  15. T1: Texas goes 1-2-3. B1: Lead off HR for the Wildcats.
  16. ACC, but yes. Marquette has had an easy path. Still, tourney wins are tourney wins. Shaka has shown tournament improvement every year at Marquette. 2021: Round of 64 2022: Round of 32 2023: Sweet 16 (at least) I don’t like him because he was an idiot of a coach at Texas who grossly underutilized and underdeveloped his talent. However, he has adapted some at Marquette, and it’s showing.
  17. Those calves Vernon Broughton is green with envy.
  18. Texas newcomers continue to make presence known in fifth spring practice (Howe 247)
  19. If they have no idea what the problem is with Witt, there's no way he pitches again this season. It's almost April, and I'd imagine he'll need some sort of a clean-up procedure.
  20. This season is cursed: - the entire transfer class is lost to season-ending injuries or “retirements.” - Texas loses an assistant coach mid season. - the entire pitching staff (outside of Ace) has regressed. Although, he has some weird “Rookie of the Year” type injury that actually makes him a more effective pitcher. Weird - they either score a massive amount of runs or way too few. This leads to more losses than there should be. - Top-25 ERA, yet a 15-10 record. See point above. - Witt hurt, yet again. Sucks for his future earnings, especially since he passed up a ton last year to come back. What else am I missing?
