  1. Not at all. In a vacuum, two weeks from now is better. However, concussion symptoms can last a few days to months, or even years. Bobby reported that Arch's concussion was considered "slight." However, the risk of re-injury is always higher following a first concussion, with risk compounding with each occurrence of TBI thereafter - especially so if the trauma occurs soon after a preceding concussion. Therefore, while diagnostic symptoms might subside, risk does not. This is why I am saying it is more nuanced than simply passing RTP protocols. Passing protocol β‰  an elimination of risk, or even an absence of elevated risk. No matter what, if Arch plays Saturday, he has both a heightened risk of re-injury, as well as a heightened risk of greater injury. I certainly to not have access to Arch's medical record, his real-time progress, symptoms, etc. However, doctors clearing him does not do anything to the fact that he will be at elevated risk if he plays this Saturday. They're simply clearing him based on formulaic symptom existence/the lack thereof. Accordingly, I don't believe he'll be at his best regardless of what Texas' doctors say. He'll likely be tentative, less mobile, and potentially neurologically delayed (even if it's imperceptible outside of game-time conditions). It's likely that Texas will have a sub-optimal version of Arch if he plays, which I why I personally believe they should start Caldwell and see what happens. Not to mention the elevated risk factors I laid out above.
  2. It's more nuanced than that. While RTP concussion protocols are formulaic pathways, post concussive symptoms, especially processing speed, decision-making, noise tolerance, activity tolerance, what happens when he's hit again, etc., are much more variable. It's basically impossible to simulate a real game environment to tell how Arch is realistically going to respond if he's trotted out there on Saturday.
  3. I completely agree with you. It's highly unlikely that Texas will get an outcome where: 1. Arch is as effective of a QB as he can be 2. He's able to, and without reservation, use his mobility 3. Is not re injured/more severely injured. I'd rather Caldwell start and the staff see if they possibly need to go to Arch.
  4. The Latest on Arch Manning (Friday 10:37 a.m.) - Vogel "But things are trending in the right direction to seeing No. 16 behind center on Saturday barring a set back. The Friday evening Availability Report will drop this evening around 7:10 p.m. I would expect a QUESTIONABLE or GAME-TIME DECISION designation for Manning. Texas is not fully in the clear, but right now, it's at an encouraging stage."

  6. Friday - Bobby Big Notes: "Taaffe has been practicing all week, but been in a green practice jersey. If he goes on Saturday, it’ll be two weeks earlier than the initial prognosis of his return at Georgia." "Manning, meanwhile, is a day-to-day situation. The concussion he suffered at Mississippi State was considered slight. If there are any signs that Manning is unable to protect himself properly, then he won’t (and shouldn’t) play."
  7. Nah, Cosmi was c/o 2017 out of high school. Herman flipped him from Houston and signed him. Williams was a Chuckles recruit. Jones wasn’t wire to wire for Herman. He had his best and final season in 2022 in Sark’s second year.
  8. Looks like Texas is playing Vandegrift, not Vanderbilt. Given where you live, you sure you didn’t list the wrong one in your AI prompt haha?
  9. Oh, he's likely not playing. As I detailed above, he might be progressing through the RTP protocol, but that doesn't mean he'll play, let alone be effective. I do think he'll return for the next game, as there's a bye after this Saturday. He'd have to be experiencing legit lingering symptoms not to. The big question is: did he suffer a concussion at A&M, last year? I feel like we would have heard for certain if he did, but who knows. Nevertheless, in my professional experience, concussions and post-concussion symptoms, are highly variable. Caldwell's backup is KJ Lacey, a true freshman. He's apparently looked good in practice, but I'd rather not him have to play at all in any meaningful sense.
  10. And ironically, while the overall lines weren't that good, he somehow lucked into four OTs that played in the NFL (three that are still playing). Williams Cosmi Anderson Jones Granted, he only recruited two to Texas out of high school (Cosmi and Jones).
  11. Hopefully Bald Mamba or AR15 2.0. Shoots 44% percent from three: "Sterling is a big-time shooter off the basketball who made 44% of his threes, on over 8 attempts per game, during the Pro16 season." Yeah, I'll take that clip, especially on that n value.
  12. The wife is from SB. God, I love getting to visit there. Anyways, he's Texas bound. The Texas roster is going to look like historical Duke soon - and we're not talking just walk ons haha.
  13. This team should be so much more fun to watch (at least offensively) than the past two years. Sure, the defensive efficiency will likely be worse, and we'll lose a couple games because we miss way too many threes, but I doubt we are going to be complaining about a general lack of competitiveness and lack of offensive identity around here. That'll be a nice change.
  14. *Highly likely. Especially given the overt directness re: following the six-step RTP protocol. Would tie hand-in-hand to being coy about whether or not Arch is going to play, as well as following SEC guidelines about being transparent about injury availability. Would be a great strategy, really. **Or the risk for re injury/further TBI.
  15. There's a loony extrapolation. I never said I cared about my rep - simply that I'd outlast you. Again, don't fucking call people retarded.
  16. What might the Texas offense look like if Matthew Caldwell is QB1 against Vanderbilt? - Howe (OTF)
  17. Keep it up. We'll see how this act works out for you. Maybe keep calling people retards while you're at it.
  18. If the dude wants to be a hyperbolic, petulant dickhead, especially as a newer poster, I'll gladly keep matching him neg for neg and race him to the bottom.
  19. We absolutely need the mobile version of Arch. I don't like rushing him back even if he's cleared - that doesn't mean Texas gets an effective Arch Manning. Given there's a bye after this week, I'd be inclined to start Caldwell and bring Arch in only if Caldwell struggles.
  20. Thursday - Bobby Big Notes: Sark also relayed that Manning practiced on Wednesday which means he is progressing through the concussion protocol timeline cleanly. We also know that Taaffe practiced in a green jersey on Tuesday and Hutson is attempting to return for the Vandy game. Perhaps Texas could get all three starters to return in time for this weekend.
  21. Helobious is basically Carl. However, instead of "a lack of thots," it's undersized athletes of Latino decent, guys from small Texas towns, and underdog stories. Fuck the manufactured drama post. No one here misses that self-absorbed quitter and his budget circus of a mom.
  22. Recruiting: 2026 Big Board headed into November (6:57am CT) - Gerry
  23. Here's the full update from his sis:
  24. Wednesday - Bobby Bobby breaks down the six-stage RTP protocol for concussions. Very long shot that Arch plays.
