  1. Why would others in the AD, outside of the baseball program, manage NIL allocation? They don’t tell Pierce who to put on scholarship. I’m sure Pierce doesn’t do it all himself and his staff assists, but that’s still on DP to manage and oversee.
  2. I mean, the head coach is ultimately responsible for the entire program.
  3. Yeah, I think it’s a bad allocation, i.e., poor strategy and execution.
  4. We’re not behind in NIL. Texas is easily a top-five baseball program in terms of NIL. @closetojumping has already stated this in multiple occasions. The allocation of NIL might be poor, but the aggregate number is not. What @trophsaid above is likely the right call.
  5. Yeah, Mitch Canham is my vote. He’s young, has two rings, and has done really well thus far. Only issue is he’s an OSU guy through and through.
  6. Iowa State knows how to hire basketball coaches. I feel like they never get it wrong. Haven’t had a bad coach since Nance.
  7. Texas has one quality starting pitcher. Let that sink in for a minute given the history of this baseball program. And even LBJ has regressed from last season.
  8. This is our Saturday starter… Howard is a Tuesday guy, at best.
  9. We're gonna drop a home series to fucking Washington.
  10. It’s also just not the way the world works. Naming rights eventually expire (whether by expiration of contract terms or the allure of greater economic opportunity) and asset lifecycles/usefulness are not just theories. He should have had his name on something more protected if that was his legacy concern.
  11. I like this strategy. However, I think it assumes we’ll have series go like the Tech series did where we don’t drain the BP on Friday or Saturday. The conference is down, we already played one of the best offensive teams, and Texas can score runs, so it probably works more often than not. However, it’s a concern of mine in the postseason. Granted, maybe Pierce will have the rotation sorted by then.
  12. Considering linemen (both sides of the ball) have the most repetitive micro trauma of any position in football, I’m assuming the damage is done if he’s going to develop it. That being said, not all who played develop CTE, so who knows what if means for AD.
  13. Yeah, I know it’s college baseball and all, but frankly, I’ll be pretty disappointed if Texas doesn’t sweep. The huskies are not good.
  14. Needs more truck stick. In reality, that’s awesome! Also, OU sucks!
  15. It's only this evident because of injuries.
  16. Fuck that sanctimonious asshole. What an absurd distortion of the truth. He retired because he saw firsthand that his precious competitive advantage was gone and didn't want his legacy tarnished.
  17. 100% correct. It's not even a bad game or an off game thing. Hunter is such a net-negative 80% of the time. He drags the team down. Literally does nothing except miss shots and turn the ball over. Most players who contribute what Hunter contributes during his on games aren't such a detriment to their team when they're off. Hunter, somehow, is.
  18. I mean with Terry. He’s not getting fired after this season.
  19. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
  20. I’ll say it again and maybe I won’t get chastised for it: this team is so mentally weak. Not to mention the coaching adjustments are non-existent.
