  1. It’s also just not the way the world works. Naming rights eventually expire (whether by expiration of contract terms or the allure of greater economic opportunity) and asset lifecycles/usefulness are not just theories. He should have had his name on something more protected if that was his legacy concern.
  2. I like this strategy. However, I think it assumes we’ll have series go like the Tech series did where we don’t drain the BP on Friday or Saturday. The conference is down, we already played one of the best offensive teams, and Texas can score runs, so it probably works more often than not. However, it’s a concern of mine in the postseason. Granted, maybe Pierce will have the rotation sorted by then.
  3. Considering linemen (both sides of the ball) have the most repetitive micro trauma of any position in football, I’m assuming the damage is done if he’s going to develop it. That being said, not all who played develop CTE, so who knows what if means for AD.
  4. Yeah, I know it’s college baseball and all, but frankly, I’ll be pretty disappointed if Texas doesn’t sweep. The huskies are not good.
  5. Needs more truck stick. In reality, that’s awesome! Also, OU sucks!
  6. It's only this evident because of injuries.
  7. Fuck that sanctimonious asshole. What an absurd distortion of the truth. He retired because he saw firsthand that his precious competitive advantage was gone and didn't want his legacy tarnished.
  8. 100% correct. It's not even a bad game or an off game thing. Hunter is such a net-negative 80% of the time. He drags the team down. Literally does nothing except miss shots and turn the ball over. Most players who contribute what Hunter contributes during his on games aren't such a detriment to their team when they're off. Hunter, somehow, is.
  9. I mean with Terry. He’s not getting fired after this season.
  10. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
  11. I’ll say it again and maybe I won’t get chastised for it: this team is so mentally weak. Not to mention the coaching adjustments are non-existent.
  12. Only silver lining is a possible 10 seed, but that won’t happen. Probably stuck at an 8 or 9.
  13. This. Even though they should have traded him this season for a cornucopia of assets. They're not going to win again with him and he'll walk after next season (if he so pleases) for nothing in return.
  14. OTF: "Position Battles Heading into Spring Camp"
  15. That isn't true in the slightest. But, don't worry, the Spurs aren't drafting him.
  16. An apostrophe before/after an "s" is to show possession/relation. RBI's is never correct. People do this incorrectly with acronyms and names all the time.
  17. That's just about the luckiest strike you'll ever see haha. Fontenot lost a pitch high and inside, the batter ducked as to not get beaned in the head, and the ball subsequently hits the bat that's still stuck up in the air.
  18. And this take has nothing to do with a modern D1 basketball athlete on an athletic scholarship. They get a full-ride, living allowance/stipend, and likely some NIL now. I guarantee you location has to do with most college athlete decisions when two comparable schools are being vetted.
  19. LOL. This is a really dumb take, and I don't even live in/like Houston. Fresno is one of the worst large cities to live in in CA. Fresno and Bakersfield are shitholes.
  20. His official title is: Coordinator, Hitting and Pitching Development At Duke: "Gordon served on the Duke baseball staff from 2017-22 and was elevated to the program’s Pitching Coach in February 2021 after four seasons as Special Assistant to the Head Coach."
  21. Yep, the best bet is to make a run in the conference tourney, get to the championship game (don't think result would matter), and get a 7 seed. Texas likely needs another Q1 win to have that happen. A win in the conference semis secures another Q1 W.
