  1. I don't want the guy to fail. I don't want CU to burn down. It just seems pretty obvious to me that his tactics (which apparently include a lack of program oversight) have inherent faults to building sustainable success. Otherwise, I have no qualms here. It would be great (to me) for Deion to prove everyone wrong. However, it just seems like we've seen this movie before; and the ending doesn't match the promise of the start.
  2. What a shit show. Don't worry. @Chewbacca will show up and tell us why it's all fine.
  3. Texas football practice report: Can't-miss observations from the Longhorns' first two days of fall camp I really wish Hutson or Neto could usurp Conner at LG. Either one would be an athletic upgrade. I'm tired of Conner getting beat to spots.
  4. Correct. But in RTG mode, you don't get to control when your player is on the field. So, the CPU engine fucked him over by playing him one play in five games.
  5. Also, the coaches will plan for this sort of situation. It's not complicated to premortem this type of scenario.
  6. I don't know. I was just responding to this portion of CTJ's post: "So there are a lot of red flags there. If he doesn't cost a program a ton of money (but he probably will), he's a quality lottery ticket. He will boost hype and rankings of the class, which helps the overall class"
  7. I'm all for taking a flier on the guy if he positively impacts recruiting overall on the defensive side of the ball. However, if he doesn't help bring in anyone else of significance and ties up needed NIL money, those aren't great ramifications of a commitment to Texas. He's gifted enough to provide true impact for football and/or baseball. I'm skeptical he'll be able to do both at a highly effective level (although, since he doesn't play QB as many pitchers do, maybe he can), but I'm even more skeptical he'll forgo the MLB draft - especially with his pitching potential as a LHP.
  8. Probably doing him a solid. 1. Speak some sense into the team about avoiding drugs and why. 2. Paid speaking gig. Money + résumé builder on that front.
  9. Nope. It's not a contingency for the MLB position. It's a contingency plan for the primacy communicator on the defensive side of the ball. None of the three players being trained on defense play the same position. If the primary communicator went down, it's not going to be their backup who calls the defense. It's going to be one of the other two players mentioned. How is this so hard for some of y'all to wrap your heads around? Regardless, we're not even at the point at which we know who it will be. I'd assume they want it to be Hill though.
  10. What gives me hope is that I don’t think he’ll secure a college job better than Texas or an NBA HCing position before Texas is open again. However, unless he experiences college coaching success elsewhere, he doesn’t fit what CDC normally hires. I hope he finds his way to Austin eventually though.
  11. Both teams probably boast better defenses than offenses (especially true for aggy). However, I think ND's defense will be better than aggy's offense, especially with a new offensive system and question marks at both QB and OL for the ags. While ND's offense is rather meh, I think Leonard and Love are decent enough to win that game. If it were in South Bend, it wouldn't even be a question in my mind. Here's to hoping Freeman doesn't fuck this one up like OSU last year. If aggy does pull it out, the roller coaster is going to be mighty high up the initial lift early in the season.
  12. Fantastic that he has movement in all 4.
  13. Where does Texas go next for defensive line prospects? Hank South, 247 Notes: -Still in hot pursuit of Myron Charles. He'll be back to Texas "soon" -Texas is the favorite for DJ Sanders -Texas may really try to flip Chace Sims from aggy; has a legit shot to do so if they push -Zion Williams is a long shot -Texas wavering on trying to flip Coleman from Auburn now (hard to keep track of who he's even committed to these days)
  14. The Insider: Texas football nuggets galore as the Longhorns begin training camp FCB "I feel like I'm crying from a yacht right now," Sarkisian said. "That's a good problem that we have too many good players."🤤
  15. At least John David has a father (John Sr.) who went to extreme lengths to get him the heart transplant he needed to end up as a very mid actor.
  16. I hope for our sakes it’s actually, “they s’posed to be SEC.” If it’s “we’re,” well, you know that thing you say about cigarettes…
  17. Are you referring to Kelshaun Johnson who Texas tried to jump back into the mix with last minute before he committed to A&M? Texas sits in very good position for Lockett, lately. I’m assuming you meant Oregon? Edit: sorry, I think you were saying we were prioritizing Moore with NIL, so aggy was offering Lockett more than we were. Now that Moore when to Oregon, we can reallocate to Lockett.
  18. Oh, man. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll finally get the fisting extravaganza this board was once promised from a certain poster who will remain unnamed.
  19. Sanders is 215 pounds. Whaley and Houston were much larger and stronger. Probably faster, too. Sanders isn't going to get PT over any of the five scholarship backs.
  20. Texas baseball player Nik Sanders joins the Longhorns' football program This upcoming fall, Texas catcher Nik Sanders won't just be focused on baseball. Sanders has been added to the roster of the Texas football team. He is currently listed as a 6-foot-2, 215-pound running back on the team's website. He has been assigned the No. 31 jersey. Earlier on Monday, Sanders tweeted out a picture of his new locker and wrote "Let’s get it @TexasFootball." Sanders last played football at University High in Waco. This past baseball season, Sanders was the designated hitter in UT's season opener. However, the freshman later found playing time hard to find. He appeared in just nine games and hit .056 over 18 at-bats. Texas is set to open practices for the 2024 football season on Wednesday. Sanders will be one of eight running backs on the roster. https://www.statesman.com/story/sports/college/longhorns/football/2024/07/29/texas-baseball-player-nik-sanders-joins-longhorns-football-team/74596583007/
  21. For good reason! Losing that would surely hurt his draft stock.
  22. Yep. Invest half. At her age, she's set. However, enjoy Lubbutt, Canady.
  23. Well, shit. Now I know who to resurrect on my College Football 25 dynasty. Anyone know if I can I unlock a coaching ability for banging hookers in cheap hotels?
  24. The talent is definitely there for a title, but with the dearth of coaching experience on that staff across the board, I don’t see a title happening.
