  1. Could Schuessler or Galvan play 1B if JT was in the outfield?
  2. Play JT in the outfield. Kennedy 100% needs to start over O'Dowd. Greater range at 2B, more speed on offense, a greater BA and OBP. His small sample size shows promise.
  3. Brown and O'Dowd need to sit. If you can't hit at all, a young guy needs your reps.
  4. What happened on the Galvan injury? I missed it.
  5. Look five posts up. I haven't seen anyone saying UConn is "ripe for the picking," but it has been insinuated that we would match up better with them if Texas had another shot. I do agree with Derka (even with his propensity for the extreme) about that being false.
  6. Lefty starters with low ERAs have been our kryptonite lately. Granted, that’s true for a lot of teams, but they often make Texas look like little leaguers at the plate.
  7. Witt: "He threw an incredible inning last night. It looked like down angle, ball jumping, up to 93-94. That was the most encouraging outing he has had. We'll see how he recovers and we'll build off of that. I think too, people look at it, a guy has surgery, 14 months. He's going to be ready. He's going to be better. Some guys are slower than others. Some guys, it just takes a little more time. Hopefully it's starting to together for him. He's worked really hard at it." O'Dowd & Brown: "They're going to have to keep working and understand we're trying to win games at the same time. And so, we have some good young players that can fill in here or there." Thoughts: 1. Pierce sounded really encouraged by Witt's performance. 2. While he was supportive of both O'Dowd and Brown, I liked that he started with a qualifier that he wants to win.
  8. And if Texas has a weakness as a team, it’s defending quick guard movement and three-point shooting. Jinx
  9. Yeah, that was not my impression. But, it makes sense in retrospect. She's an AA-caliber player as a freshman. Top-five in the league in steals, assists, points, AND blocks is wild. Absolutely wild, especially for a true freshman.
  10. FB was touching 92, so that's an improvement.
  11. Okay, now I’d be okay seeing Witt.
  12. Yeah… I may need to let go of my hope on these two pitchers.
  13. Probably so haha. However, it'd be really nice to get an early lead (like 8-1) and let both Harrison and Witt throw with absolutely no pressure.
  14. Has 11 SOs in 22 ABs to only 1 BB. Right now, unless he gets a hit, he’s not getting on base. He’s chasing a lot of fastballs he shouldn’t. Granted, it’s a small sample size and he has a massive strike zone. He’ll hopefully adjust to the speed of the game soon.
  15. Shit, had they involved Bijan a lot more he might not be standing at that podium. Atlanta lost/tied seven one-score games this past season, and their best offensive weapon was primarily on the sideline or used as a decoy.
  16. Worthy’s draft status comes down to his 40 time. I he runs 4.34 (or something of the like), he’ll shoot up draft boards and won’t be outside the top 10 WRs taken.
  17. Yep, it's the inverse of the defensive "disconcerting signals" call when defensive players are trying to get offensive players to jump. Not calling twitching could lead to unfettered gamesmanship toward inducing offsides (besides faking a snap count). Those calls need to stay.
  18. It's only a $15.3M contract. Despite the "vote of confidence" in terms of five years, CDC did hedge in the overall amount. It gives me some hope he was slightly skeptical of Terry's ability and won't wait to cut bait if Terry's substandard tenure continues.
