  1. Yeah, this team may fuck next season. The bullpen looks really good and the offense should produce enough on average. Just need to nail down the starting pitching roles.
  2. Well, that was painfully obvious.
  3. Listed at 6'3, 235... Are you at all familiar with a certain TE that just got drafted from Texas?
  4. This is quite ironic given his poor ability to hire and effectively manage his assistant coaches at Texas.
  5. BTW, Jalin Flores is slotted as the 116th-ranked prospect. That's mid-fourth round to the Giants with a slot value of $624.80k. He has a lot of leverage, and will next draft too. Would not be a surprise to see him come back.
  6. Jared Thomas drafted 42nd overall to the Rockies. Was ranked as the 60th overall prospect. He's definitely going to sign, but awesome for him. Slot value is $2.22m. He's set financially if he invests a large chunk. He did everything right, did whatever the team needed, and was so fun to watch. Hook'em, JT! I hope he's one helluva utility player for that org.
  7. Well shit, he’s for sure gone.
  8. We knew those two wouldn’t make it to campus. Both were projected first round.
  9. Yep. Rich Paul told teams that if they drafted Bronny, he’d opt for the NBL in Australia. It was always going to be the Lakers.
  10. Oregon has been recruiting Texas for years. Hell, they had very productive players from Texas on their BCS runner-up squad in January, 2011 (2010 season). High school recruits in class from Texas: 2024: 1 2023: 6 2022: 1 2021: 1 There could also be increased overlap for a few reasons. Both Texas and Oregon NIL are top-tier. Naturally, that's going to create some NIL-driven recruiting battles. Both schools heavily recruit CA (Sharma this year, among others). Texas stole Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams (among others) from them. Maybe they're tired of losing recruits to Texas and have the NIL to combat some of that. However, I don't think Oregon is "directly targeting" Texas, per se. Maybe I'm wrong. They probably just want to win recruitments in Texas. It's an obvious part of their recruiting strategy. With Uncle Phil's NIL and Samples now on staff, they're posed to compete more in Texas in pursuit of that strategy.
  11. CenTex kid - from Wimberly. Pretty good stats to work with. WHIP, SO9, and SO/W all look promising.
  12. Class of 2024. Will be on campus for fall practice and appear in 2025.
  13. Obviously a huge draft risk, but this dude is elite.
  14. Per the first quoted post, OB says Gage is back. Fingers crossed there. Get Mercer back to health with Gage returning, and that's one hell of a back end to the bullpen. Also, I don't remember the last time there were this many initial options for LHP. The more balanced staff (at least prior to cuts) is good to see. Overall, the initial roster boasts a quality core to work with. I wish Schloss could have pulled a star player from A&M, but the offense should still be very competitive and we should see improvement from Borba and Gasparino (hopefully). I'm willing to bet we see a few more transfers and get lucky with one or two with the draft. I'm very excited for next season after what was a dismal outlook back in May/early June.
  15. Yeah, even “professional writers” have multiple editors/editing layers.
  16. Again, this has nothing to do with Oregon’s NIL. Knight is funding it with his personal assets.
  17. I'd take that over what Texas has now.
  18. Yep. He was very, very good defensively his junior year. Offensively, he wasn't bad, either. .271 BA and a .391 OBP. Obviously, not all inclusive of his offensive performance, but those numbers could be much worse for a defensive-minded catcher.
  19. Which, based on Thamel’s certainty and sources, leads me to believe he knows it’ll be Oregon.
