  1. FIFY Fuck that. For a young player who doesn't hustle like he needs to, isn't a commanding blocker, and drops balls, there is something wrong with wanting assurances regarding PT. Now, a good team will give him that to get him in the door, but they'll most certainly be on his ass about those things above.
  2. More context from FCB: What you need to know about the "mutual" parting of ways between Texas and WR Johntay Cook Yeah, this wasn't mutual. It reads like Sark is trying to protect his culture and doesn't want someone who has already checked out around to bring others down. "All gas, no brakes." Seems like Sark viewed Cook as a "brake" based on his comments and FCB's additional color. I don't have clips handy, but I noticed a few occasions earlier in the season where Cook wouldn't run to block downfield or from the other side of the field to follow up the play. That's something Moore and Bolden both do.

  4. SMU would be a good landing spot for many reasons in my mind.
  5. This was a really good post. I wish I could pos rep it more. I'll get you elsewhere. Increased, as well as more skilled, pitching depth, a shorter leash so pitchers don't crater and start sliding in confidence (depth will help here too), and a different approach from a younger and more attuned pitching coach leads me to believe Texas will have fewer pitchers that look like this on the mound this season: At least that's my hope.
  6. Not a chance Quinn is the starting QB at Texas next season.
  7. Yep. This just screams CYA with a paper trail. Fake injuries won’t stop. Staffs will just get better at planning for them and covering their tracks with plausible deniability.
  8. Rupturing a spleen or damage to the splenic artery is 100% life threatening. It’s the most vascular organ in the body. You can bleed enough internally pretty quickly to die without intervention. I’m assuming one of those things happened here. Chris Simms had to have his spleen removed after rupturing it in a game in 2006. Needed a blood transfusion because of the blood loss.
  9. They’re firmly still in the hunt for a SEC title and the CFP, and control their own destiny to boot, yet they’re melting down. Never change, aggy. BAS lives, real hard.
  10. Yep. The narrative on Surly seems to be that he’s simply not playing and should be. However, OTF said he has had an ankle injury. Nevertheless, I don’t think he has been listed on the injury report. Maybe it was just one of those “he can go if needed” things, but the staff was being careful. Either way, we need his change of pace ability down the stretch. Especially in the fourth quarter of games.
  11. Lol WTF? Possibly? I don't care about NFL projections and potential, but yes, we would 100% rather have the current version of Gabriel over current Quinn. He's mobile, evades getting sacked well, is a genuine threat with his legs, and actually consistently throws an accurate and catchable deep ball.
  12. We (the fans) are going to have to learn to temper our expectations when it comes to W/L record. The SEC is going to be insane this year. This team might have a poor record by historical Texas terms, and then wind up in Omaha. Who knows. Gonna be a different type of season, that's for sure. Glad to hear we should have the pitching depth. It'll also be fun playing in some of these smaller SEC parks. It assume the Disch plays a lot bigger (and is) than most of them.
  13. As others have said, no updates. But, take from this what you will. The slow motion view looks like he tore at least one ligament.
  14. By the movement of his knee, it was... uh, not good.
  15. Seriously. Especially considering we’re not through the election yet.
  16. I feel like this is a pretty weak slate of programs given who is normally in a Maui. Oh well. Glad Texas will be back there again.
  17. That would be amazing for multiple reasons. Pulling pitching talent like him to campus consistently would be a huge boon to Texas Baseball.
  18. He is on scholarship now. I believe he was awarded one late in 2022. This award is for athletes who started their college career as a walk-on, regardless of their status now.
  19. Hate that he got hurt, but that's a pretty minor season-ending injury as far as it concerns his future football career.
  20. Knee, lower leg (ankle/Achilles), shoulder; do we know?
  21. Quandre did get torched on a TD run where he took a bad angle and then gave up on the play when his teammates didn’t. Still love the guy, but it was not great. Gibbs is fast, fast though.
  22. Didn't meant to imply a "correction." Just helping explain the context. Now, let's get this thread back to people bitching at each other.
