  1. Love learning new words, thanks @wildcat09!!
  2. A lot of people reserve more hate for the Lucy's of the world that continuously pull the football away at the last second instead of just learning not to ever count on Lucy.
  3. I 100% disagree with you on this post. Well, with the first word. The rest is spot on.
  4. It’s not even liberal stuff, it’s being against a caricature of liberal stuff. What he rails against isn’t even real most of the time. I do not understand how we have wound up with two completely separate realities in this country.
  5. My experience is that people that incessantly talk about things generally have an interest in participating in those things. It's very weird to me how they fixate on this, and I think of all the people going on about the gays that liked to suck a cock behind the bushes and it makes me wonder how many of these people would 100% fuck a kid if they thought they could get away with it. Or how many of them did because they realized they could get away with it.
  6. I had a Celica GT-S, fucking loved that car! Drove it for 12 years until. Sad thing is they killed the things that made that car special a couple years later, so if you got one after '92 or so it was a complete piece of shit from a performance perspective, but the earlier ones were great!
  7. Or you could just be an adult and remember to put it back. Don't be a fucking dummy.
  8. Fuck off man, we aren't claiming any of those idiots.
  9. Boo, I thought so too but was hoping not. I actually care more about tracking hospitalizations than cases and that data seems harder to come by.
  10. Can you link me to where you are pulling this data?
  11. So, I'm to the point now that what I want to know is 2 things....#1, what are the hospitalization rates looking like with these upticks? If positive tests are going back up but hospitalizations aren't, that's a pretty important data point. Also I don't like roller coasters. #2, where we saw this going crazy first was in South Africa, what's their chart look like?
  12. I LOVE Gary Chambers, Jr. Been a fan of his since he called out Connie at a school board meeting back in the early days of COVID. Have donated to his run for House and for his run for Senate. We need people like this who will call shit out that's fucked up.
  13. When did you start caring about lying? Aren't you a Republican? <---did not watch this video, so no idea if she's lying here or not.
  14. I've been to Washington's house. It was right on the Potomac. I wouldn't be at all surprised to know that Washington also rode in a boat that was rowed across the Potomac.
  15. Why though? If they would've been wearing masks they couldn't have done any COVID related owning of the libs.
  16. So they call chips and queso "nachos" in Alabama? Good to know in case I ever accidentally wind up there.
  17. They trying to capture the tween market, or is Gaetz using them as bait to bring in the (young) ladies?
  18. God dammit, I'm sick and tired of having reps so stupid that I can't tell if they actually said some stupid shit or if it's a parody. I honestly can't tell here.
  19. I will say that the 1:33 mark was pretty fucking funny. You only need to watch it for a couple seconds. "Scientist" with a snake around his neck while a golden sits in the back of the room smiling for the camera. No context provided for why those animals showed up or disappeared at all.
  20. Sorry if I wasn't clear. What both W and Abbott did in these two cases is terrible. The only way it is analogous to what W did with marriage equality was that they are doing it for politics, not because of closely held personal beliefs. Otherwise, they are only related in that they are both issues that affect the rainbow acronym. And the were picked because the rainbow acronym is an easy target because our resistance historically has not been that strong. What W did was wrong, but he was just reaffirming what was already the law of the land, but it was reprehensible to cut into programming during the Iraq war, not to talk about the war, but to denigrate the gays in a televised address to the nation. The targets of W's ire were at least mostly adults as well. What Abbott has done here is go all in on authoritarianism to kick a marginalized group of children in the teeth for the sole purpose of shoring up his base. That moves his actions from reprehensible to downright evil. The level of disgust I have for the current strain of Republicanism keeps growing, even though I thought I hit my limit a few years ago. I keep waiting for the "Have you no sense of decency?" speech that will end this strain, but so far it hasn't happened and I lose a little more hope every day that it will.
  21. Or else just that old habits die hard. I caught myself calling it the Ukraine just yesterday after learning why I should drop the the just a few days earlier.
  22. I grew up in the south plains, where the water is more naturally fluoridated than almost any place on earth. As a result, many people where I grew up had these water stains on their teeth. Despite this, and despite the fact that it is plainly obvious that the people of the south plains aren't big government sheep, my grandparents, who also lived out their for 40 years, believed this bullshit 100%. About 30 years ago, I asked my grandmother when she became a sheep to big government since she spent 40 years drinking that water, unfiltered, right out of the tap. Or when her neighbors did. Or her children did. Or when I did. She admitted maybe she didn't think that one through and neither her or my granddad ever brought that particular bullshit up again. I definitely didn't eradicate the John Birch craziness from that household but I did at least make headway on a topic here or there.
  23. Oh he believes it needs to be done. Not because he truly thinks that trans kids are somehow misguided and their parents are abusing them by humoring that misguidance. No, that's not the reason. The reason is he has to find a disenfranchised group to harass because that's the only way he can curry favor with the Republican base so that he can stay in office. It's about him, collateral damage be damned. He doesn't give a fuck about the people of Texas except to make sure he can get enough of them to vote for him to keep him in office. That's the only purpose of the people of this state in his eyes. I remember someone back in the old days of hornfans sent me a message about W's cutting into regular programming to give a speech about needing a constitutional amendment to outlaw marriage equality. The message was that he knew something of W and W didn't actually care about the issue, but he needed to say that because his base was a little antsy. It's the same shit Abbott is doing now, and it's even worse behavior than either of those would've been if they actually believed the shit they were spewing. I can deal with you as a person having a different opinion and basing your policies on that opinion. There is some chance that given the opportunity I can change your mind in that circumstance. But to be so craven to create fake issues that aren't really a thing for the express purpose of getting people to take your side in the controversy is just fucking cruel. It's disingenuous. It's heartless. We should not be electing cruel, heartless, disingenuous people to office in this state or anywhere else. It continues to blow my mind that not only do we elect them, but in some places it seems to be a fucking requirement to even make the ballot. I want off. I'm tired of being represented by pieces of shit that are representing me for the sole reason that they were found to be the largest piece of shit that we could choose from.
