  1. God dammit, I'm sick and tired of having reps so stupid that I can't tell if they actually said some stupid shit or if it's a parody. I honestly can't tell here.
  2. I will say that the 1:33 mark was pretty fucking funny. You only need to watch it for a couple seconds. "Scientist" with a snake around his neck while a golden sits in the back of the room smiling for the camera. No context provided for why those animals showed up or disappeared at all.
  3. Sorry if I wasn't clear. What both W and Abbott did in these two cases is terrible. The only way it is analogous to what W did with marriage equality was that they are doing it for politics, not because of closely held personal beliefs. Otherwise, they are only related in that they are both issues that affect the rainbow acronym. And the were picked because the rainbow acronym is an easy target because our resistance historically has not been that strong. What W did was wrong, but he was just reaffirming what was already the law of the land, but it was reprehensible to cut into programming during the Iraq war, not to talk about the war, but to denigrate the gays in a televised address to the nation. The targets of W's ire were at least mostly adults as well. What Abbott has done here is go all in on authoritarianism to kick a marginalized group of children in the teeth for the sole purpose of shoring up his base. That moves his actions from reprehensible to downright evil. The level of disgust I have for the current strain of Republicanism keeps growing, even though I thought I hit my limit a few years ago. I keep waiting for the "Have you no sense of decency?" speech that will end this strain, but so far it hasn't happened and I lose a little more hope every day that it will.
  4. Or else just that old habits die hard. I caught myself calling it the Ukraine just yesterday after learning why I should drop the the just a few days earlier.
  5. I grew up in the south plains, where the water is more naturally fluoridated than almost any place on earth. As a result, many people where I grew up had these water stains on their teeth. Despite this, and despite the fact that it is plainly obvious that the people of the south plains aren't big government sheep, my grandparents, who also lived out their for 40 years, believed this bullshit 100%. About 30 years ago, I asked my grandmother when she became a sheep to big government since she spent 40 years drinking that water, unfiltered, right out of the tap. Or when her neighbors did. Or her children did. Or when I did. She admitted maybe she didn't think that one through and neither her or my granddad ever brought that particular bullshit up again. I definitely didn't eradicate the John Birch craziness from that household but I did at least make headway on a topic here or there.
  6. Oh he believes it needs to be done. Not because he truly thinks that trans kids are somehow misguided and their parents are abusing them by humoring that misguidance. No, that's not the reason. The reason is he has to find a disenfranchised group to harass because that's the only way he can curry favor with the Republican base so that he can stay in office. It's about him, collateral damage be damned. He doesn't give a fuck about the people of Texas except to make sure he can get enough of them to vote for him to keep him in office. That's the only purpose of the people of this state in his eyes. I remember someone back in the old days of hornfans sent me a message about W's cutting into regular programming to give a speech about needing a constitutional amendment to outlaw marriage equality. The message was that he knew something of W and W didn't actually care about the issue, but he needed to say that because his base was a little antsy. It's the same shit Abbott is doing now, and it's even worse behavior than either of those would've been if they actually believed the shit they were spewing. I can deal with you as a person having a different opinion and basing your policies on that opinion. There is some chance that given the opportunity I can change your mind in that circumstance. But to be so craven to create fake issues that aren't really a thing for the express purpose of getting people to take your side in the controversy is just fucking cruel. It's disingenuous. It's heartless. We should not be electing cruel, heartless, disingenuous people to office in this state or anywhere else. It continues to blow my mind that not only do we elect them, but in some places it seems to be a fucking requirement to even make the ballot. I want off. I'm tired of being represented by pieces of shit that are representing me for the sole reason that they were found to be the largest piece of shit that we could choose from.
  7. Wait, so she is going to get hanged after all?
  8. The lie is that immigration is spelled correctly in that graphic.
  9. Have one of those that reports to me. Kicked his ass, he complained about him not being back up to fitness for over a month after he recovered, and he complained of brain fog for almost a month as well. It's time for us to get on airplanes and go visit customers again, and he's back to "i'm not getting vaccinated because I'm a fanatic about my health and don't get sick because I wash my hands like mad." O RLY? Did the brain fog give you amnesia from when you got the delta version? It's amazing to me how many otherwise smart people just become such complete and total morons when presented with any kind of mud in the water.
  10. I'm telling you, if I was a teacher, I'd be crowdsourcing legal funding because I'd be opening myself up to lawsuits left and right with this bullshit. And it's worse because they are also going down the path of white fragility with some other nonsense about making white people uncomfortable. Here's a tiktok from a teacher in Florida talking about why she's looking to leave education: https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPdSNnJWM/
  11. Anyone who walks into an Allsup's and fails to walk out without a chimichanga is doing it wrong. Wait, if the borders are open, how were 839 pounds of anything found and seized? And this is the kind of shit that makes it really really hard for me to forgive my family when they say they still vote Republican. They are actively putting a whole segment of the population at risk, they are perpetuating policies that undeniably had a profound negative effect on one of their children/siblings/cousins/grandkids, and they want to keep the madness going. Sometimes it makes me sad but usually it just makes me angry.
  12. As someone who flew enough last year to keep his 1k status with United, let me say I've yet to see any of these incidents in real life, which I'm grateful for. Maybe us United flyers are just better sheep, I dunno, but I'm grateful. And Fuck Cruz for this. Terrorists should be on the no fly list, and these people who are creating terror on airplanes, no matter the fucking reasons, shouldn't be on planes. If casinos can get together and blacklist unruly/cheating customers across all casinos, why shouldn't airlines be able to do the same thing? Fuck these people. Calm down and behave or learn the train schedules. Fucking Republicans are trying to remove all repercussions of asshole behavior because they know that they've cornered the market on assholes come election time.
  13. Whoever she is, it is very clear that she learned how to do makeup from drag queens.
  14. I'd consider myself a pretty frequent Howard Stern listener and have been since he first came to Austin in the 90's. I'm not recalling a time when he was even an infrequent user of the n-word. I can attest that he does use "shit", "piss", "fuck", "cunt", "cocksucker", "motherfucker", and "tits". And pussy too. So I looked it up, turns out the time he was using the n-word, he was playing the part of Ted Danson in a bit about what a buffoon Ted Danson was to show up in black face 30 years ago. And it looks like Biden said it while reading the words of a Republican who he was grilling about his racial profiling also at least 30 years ago. Was Joe Rogan even at the cockroach eating stage of his career 30 years ago?
  15. He even lied on his tombstone, that fat piece of shit.
  16. Lucky for me, one of my employees is in St. Louis, so all I need to do is create a reason to visit and my company will pay me to go piss on that shithead's grave.
  17. You had me at Bud Adams. Every day is a good day to piss on that motherfucker's grave. The rest of your list is scrong as well.
  18. So I watched the halftime show. I saw no fucking. I saw no same sex shenanigans. I thought Mary J Blige could've worn something a tad more flattering to her figure than she did. I thought my big disappointment was that the low riders never bounced, but apparently I blinked and missed all the sexual anarchy, which I would've been completely in for. Or is "sexual anarchy" a new incel term for "wrong color" and I missed the memo? I gave that show a 9.5/10. Would watch again.
  19. Saw this thread posted and my first thought was very similar, it was "Good, he's still dead."
  20. Dude, it's Canada. They don't follow the American Constitution, so their laws and rules are going to be different from ours. We're supposed to be staying out of Ukraine's and Russia's business, I thought, so shouldn't that extend to Canada as well? I've found this guy hot ever since I had an inkling in my head of what hot was. Would smash, or be smashed, whichever he wants.
  21. What none of them want to admit is that it's not their looks that's the problem, it's their shitty personality. Their looks don't always help, but come on. I've seen some freaking monstrous looking people who had no trouble finding partners because they bring something to the table deeper than their Rocky Dennis face.
  22. Consistency? Hah
  23. I had a quick look at his website. Everything I know tells me he'd be a terrible representative for Texas if he won. Also, would not bang.
  24. This is the hairdresser, right? I know who I trust to lead me in front of my government is a person who knows how to use a pair of scissors.
