  1. I think, maybe rightly, they don't think their imagination is good enough to consistently come up with conspiracies that are so crazy that 1) it isn't already a real conspiracy theory, or 2) they don't actually start a bunch of new conspiracies people actually believe. They are probably right about #1 and would any of us want #2 on our conscience?
  2. Apparently, she prefers her homophobia with lasers coming out of her eyes.
  3. Since I did not both sides you in my response (or even, for that matter, say that all Republican votes are white supremacists), I fail to see how I'm saying you have to agree with me or you are a white supremacist. Further, I'm not saying you are a white supremacist if you are voting for Republicans. I'm saying you are promoting white supremacists by voting for Republicans. And we can all see the evidence of it as more and more of the white supremacist playbook gets implemented as Republicans win elections. Why do you think that is? Coincidence? Also, you didn't answer my first question. When a Republican pushes the white supremacist playbook and gets elected, what message do you think that Republican received from the electorate that elected them?
  4. So when you see the Republican party enabling this nonsense and you vote for them anyway, and they win while spouting that nonsense, what message do you think you are sending them? And quit being so binary, just because voting for Republicans is promoting white supremist thought, doesn't mean that you have to pick the Democrats. I've managed to live just fine since the second Bush Jr election to both not vote for Republicans, and only sporadically vote for Democrats. Up until that point, I didn't see the nonsense they were up to and was a straight ticket Republican. Also, the only news I ever get from a television is the local news on the nights where I happen to be in front of the TV at 10 PM.
  5. Majority of white folks, maybe, but definitely not a majority of white Republicans. Because if they were, this wouldn't increasingly be a part of their platform. To the extent that Republicans are saying GTFO about that topic, they are doing it with a wink and a nod and still voting for them to keep it up. Simply put, if you vote for Republicans you are complicit.
  6. What am I missing? Why do Republican megadonors continue to spend money on creating this division? They have shit tons of money, are they happy to watch the world burn if it means they'll save a dollar on their taxes? I continue to be shocked how people who have made enough money to be considered a megadonor would have such inability to see the big picture.
  7. Jesus, there was a time when people were able to tell when they had kooky opinions and would keep that shit to themselves. I guess that ship has long ago sailed. Thanks Obama!
  8. They got rid of their health insurance to own the libs back during the Obama times, so no.
  9. I was happy to do it, I feel like y’all should never have to buy another drink, but since I can’t be out at a bar to make that happen, food it is for the time being.
  10. Can someone post a version of this that doesn’t insist I install the Reddit app to see? Because I’m not installing that app.
  11. You understood enough earlier to call it silly. Are all things you don’t understand silly in your estimation or just this thing you don’t understand?
  12. Umm, I think anyone who was thinking ahead was thinking that this would be a regular part of our lives for a good while and unless everyone in the world quickly went and got the shot, we'd be dealing with ongoing flare ups due to waning effectiveness of vaccines/disease antibodies on a regular basis for at least a few years. I figured I'd be getting a booster shot periodically, at least. Now we've gotten enough data to understand that yes, boosters are going to be required and we have a general time frame as well, at least for two of the vaccines. I suspect when Moderna turns in their numbers they are going to be pretty similar to Pfizer. I mean, you can pretend to be dumb, but all of this stuff logically follows if you think about all the other vaccines that are available for all manner of other diseases in both humans and animals. The only time we stop with vaccines is when enough people/animals have gotten sick/vaccinated that we've eradicated the illness. And the only reason we don't get some boosters for diseases that still roam the planet is because there's no one telling us we need to in order to go back to work, or because our risk diminishes for certain diseases as we age out of childhood. This isn't something new with COVID, this is just maybe something you never thought about before COVID. But now you know, and you can think about it some, and I'm sure you'll be fine with following the protocol.
  13. That's not real is it? I mean, if I were going to try to create a parody of the most ridiculous anti-vaxxer, I'd work to create something just like that.
  14. Yup. United Airlines now has a 97% vaccination rate and is getting paperwork together to say bye to the 3% who aren’t vaccinated. Since they are my airline I'm very gruntled but this development.
  15. I will never understand why so many people must learn all their lessons the hard way. Sometimes, yeah I get it, you learn better by failing first, but this one is a pretty easy one to skip the hard lesson because the teachers have made the answer key public.
  16. There are lots of people who should bot wear sleeveless shirts. I spied proof of that just two posts up.
  17. Found out this week that another one of my employees had covid just before she started working for us. Took her a month to shake it. During that month she apparently gave it to a neighbor, who, 10 months later, still has no sense of taste or smell. I'd think that would be almost as bad as long term loss of lung capacity.
  18. I see Nazi Roomba made an appearance, would have loved to watch him get interviewed. They are behind, but I got an email from People's Pharmacy today saying that while it hasn't been officially approved, they are following the Pfizer protocol for people who have gotten the Moderna vaccine and offering a 3rd shot for those that want it.
  19. True story, my now husband was a 20something directly from Asia, and he lived here for 10 years before he gave up on wanting to buy a minivan. The thirst is real.
