  1. Wish someone at the white house would've thought to rent a Uhaul and park it in the White House driveway a couple days ago just to increase the lulz.
  2. This makes me very very happy. Been missing New Orleans in the worst way, this makes me think I might be able to get back there this year at some point.
  3. No I didn't miss your point, I think I wasn't clear in my rebuttal to your point. I was saying I wasn't sure about there being a difference because the types of places I was talking about weren't attracting the type of customers that would have been willing to pay a premium, so I wasn't aware that a premium existed. However, there could be completely different rules for dry vs. non dry areas too. Your followup made me think that there is potentially a different set of rules depending on your county and so I repped you and dropped it.
  4. Why do you say that? I grew up in Texas, in a dry county. Every bar was a private club. It had to be in order for you to be able to buy a drink there. You got a card for like $10 that gave you the ability to buy drinks at the club and this was a small hick town of 8000 people, they didn't have the foot traffic or the high brow clientele that would've been required to sell at big margins.
  5. Iā€™d pay $199 for him to film his moment of clarity when he realizes heā€™s pissed away his legacy and his friends for a piece of shit that did exactly what everyone expected by not paying. It would need to include real tears and contrition, and heā€™d need to agree to exile himself and stay out of the public eye for the rest of his miserable life. You think heā€™d go for that?
  6. If I was an old white man that didn't know any, nor know anything about black people, and I'm thinking I want to talk to the utes, this is the type of commercial I would've come up with.
  7. Meanwhile, this was never a problem for the measles vaccine, or chickenpox vaccine, or the rubella vaccine, or the smallpox vaccine, or the polio vaccine or any number of other vaccines that parents have routinely forced into their children's bodies since vaccines were developed. As a country, we also have no concern about forcing a shit ton of vaccines into the bodies of every immigrant who applies for a green card. I think my husband had to get 10 vaccines as part of his green card application. I don't buy this bullshit excuse, because it is bullshit and we as a country have a proven track record of not caring about personal choice when it comes to vaccines going way way back to before I was born. Hell, I don't have a smallpox vaccine scar on my arm because so many people got the vaccine that smallpox was eradicated in the US. That didn't happen because of people who needed to do their own research, it happened because people listened to actual experts and did the right thing for their countrymen. I'm not in the mood to excuse the people today who have chosen that they are going to selfishly ignore the experts in the name of choice, when in reality they are just scared of fucking needles. Also, if I had a dollar for every time someone claimed a slippery slope was coming I'd be Surly .0001%.
  8. Seeing that tweet with Gutfield got me riled up because that fucker is spending a shit ton on advertising but he only made one commercial. His commercial is a sizzle reel which is maybe the worst attempt at comedy Iā€™ve ever seen, and I saw the Pat Sajak and Magic Johnson talk shows. I do not understand how that guy has a tv show while a bunch of you funny motherfuckers are making us laugh over here for free.
  9. Donā€™t you mean the sun? Itā€™s the only way to be sure.
  10. And further, let's assume that immortal is correct and he has lost his marbles. That makes 2 presidents in a row who had no marbles, but at least with this particular marble loser, there is a competent staff. I'd much prefer crazy presidents who at least know how to hire people to do work and it's shocking to me how the swamp drainer fans were so invested in the success of Trump's team when they brought out their water hoses to add more water to the swamp.
  11. Have to admit, I saw this thread bumped and clicked on it hoping that fuck Jeff Fisher was dead.
  12. snack sized dick? I think you give him too much credit.
  13. A GoFundMe or a GoFuckYourself? Because when it comes to that guy I'm picking the latter.
  14. I mean they committed to that path awhile ago I would think.
  15. There is nothing quite so inspirational to me as someone who can see what they have done, and atone for it. I aspire every day to see my own mistakes and to own up to them, and my hope is that all of us can do the same. Kudos to that man for owning his own responsibility in getting duped and taking action to help make sure others can avoid the same fate.
  16. Negged for not sending me the pictures of the threesome.
  17. Then you know I'm right. You don't work at a company that has a product so free of bugs that you fix every bug reported, because that company doesn't exist. At best, there's a long backlog of bugs, most of which aren't prioritized, because if you spent all your time chasing bugs, you'd spend 0 time creating new features. But you work in software development, so you know that.
  18. You arenā€™t my kid, you can manage your own damn sleep schedule.
  19. Obviously you donā€™t often work with software if you believe that. Thereā€™s a reason why help articles often talk about workarounds, and that reason is because they ainā€™t fixing a bug unless itā€™s affecting everyone, and then they still might not fix it. And thatā€™s for software you paid for. Expect developers to have no shits to give if you arenā€™t paying.
  20. good news is, it looks like soon we will be paying for his housing, clothing, and 3 meals a day. I bet he can work off some of that debt in the laundry.
  21. Normally Iā€™d be very interested in a story about semen on a poop deck, but shriveled hillbillies and lady bugs just arenā€™t my fetish.
  22. Yup I'm turning 50 this year, I'll be in line for the shingles jab too. I have heard enough stories to know that shingles is a DO NOT WANT situation.
  23. Ok, I've been reading about it here, but would like to talk through the ethics of this. Husband is going to be at 6 months since his last shot in 3 weeks. I've got a month and half to go to get to 6 months. Both of us got Moderna We've been having some pretty serious discussions about getting a 6 month booster of either Moderna or Pfizer. It feels like the right answer for us at a micro level, but ethically I'm struggling with this from a macro level. I think a couple thousand people getting a 3rd shot booster that looks like a 1st shot in the stats is fine, but if bunches of people do it, does that start to give medical/political leaders a false sense of security that vaccination rates are high enough to lower restrictions, when it wouldn't be prudent to do so? How do you weigh the societal cost of public health decisions being made with bad information vs the personal benefit of the extra protection of a booster that hasn't been officially called for yet?
  24. And this is why we're going on a year and a half since I've seen my dad. My dumbass sister is one of those 72%. I am not going to accidentally give her COVID and I wouldn't be able to go up there and see my dad without also seeing her, so yeah. Fuck Midland. So Julie is on board with the idea that someone sat in a lab to create a disease that would kill her and a bunch of other people. Wouldn't logic dictate that if someone is getting ready to shoot you, that you put on the bullet proof vest people are trying to give you for free? Is this showing me unvaccinated rates of infection that is either, sever, critical or fatal by age group? If I'm going to do a vaccination risk-benefit, where in the table can I see the percentages by age group of vaccinated people? Oh, and also the incidence of myocarditis from vaccinations. All 3 of those put together I think gives you a pretty good analysis on how much risk you are taking on (myocarditis) vs. avoiding (vaccination) compared to the status quo. I would actually love a chart like that.
