1. Ted Cruz rails against the Mexicans for coming here, but expects aid and comfort from the Mexicans whenever a little snowstorm blows into town. Fuck outta here, bitch.
2. Carpetbaggers couldn't cause this if we weren't busy voting them into office. So no. Texans can't tell the difference between a Texan and a caricature of a Texan. That's on us as Texans.
3. Stay the fuck out of Brunei if you like to drink, also not much room to move around there. I quit paying attention to Phil Collins when he started doing disney songs. Didn't realize he'd gone tat/q crazy.
4. Yeah before I found that HEB slot in Lockhart, I was absolutely planning to take a drive up to Midland and get it there, where they are having trouble finding people in any group to get it done. 10 hours in the car in two separate trips seemed like a small price to pay and I would've happily paid it had I not found something closer. But to LL's point. I am (and we are as a whole on this site) pretty fucking lucky that we're in a position where we can organize our lives around getting this stuff and we have the technological know how to make it happen. There are a whole bunch of people who don't.
5. Jimmy, my asthma is well controlled. I use a rescue inhaler like 3x a year. My asthma doctor still gave me a note. And no one asked anyway....
6. wait, those last 2 don't make sense. 1) If situation warrants you can have further restrictions, but 2) you can't hold people accountable who refuse to follow those further restrictions. Fuck you Abbott. Also, I got my first shot last Thursday at HEB. I have had asthma since childhood so am in 1B. I took my medicine and a doctor's note with me in case they asked but they didn't. Also figured out that they don't care where you are coming from as long as you make your appointment. THere were none in Austin, and there was one in Waco that got filled before I could snag a time. I hit refresh and found one in Lockhart and snagged that one. They also auto-book the second shot while you are getting your first shot so no concerns like you can see with Austin Public Health and their super messy process.
7. So I can put you down for being a blinder, not a blindee. Got it. It's nice to show some versatility, but I get that some people like their ruts.
8. LOL "That video was meant to make fun of white nationalists, but I'm not going to confirm or deny if that's my client." LOLOLOLOL If it's some rando who is not your client, how do you know the intent of the video genius?
9. They were blinded by the (D). Because for most people it no longer has to do with their pocketbooks. Let's be real, if you are saving for your future, it doesn't really matter who is in charge, the general direction is up over time and has been for most of our lifetimes. There is a blip here and there, but recovery comes relatively quickly, and as long as that blip doesn't get you right when you are about to retire, it hasn't been that big of a deal. Because of that, it's not really about the pocketbook anymore, it's just what people who have picked the R team have been taught to say to justify why they vote R. That's it. It's not truth and reality, its talking points for the fandom that is important here. Not else matters. That's why the Dems need better talking points, and until they have them, this isn't getting better. And by the way, there are much much better ways to get blinded by the D, I'd love it if they'd put down the pom poms and try that instead.
10. Pre-COVID I know that CPAC was always a big deal for the gay rentboys.
11. Al Green? I heard he threw out a good bit of gay projection during this speech as well. I'm not going to watch it to find out just how graphic he got in describing gay sex, but I hear it was gross, as is everything related to Ted Cruz.
12. Can you imagine being so fucking obstinate about helping out your fellow man that you'd be willing to go to prison for years for pretending to be something you aren't in a ploy to exempt yourself from helping out your fellow man? I just don't understand how their minds work. Oh also, I'm against penis stealing, FWIW. Guess that means I'm not a leftist.
13. I've told this story before, but my mom used to send me the FW:FW:FW: emails. I started hitting reply all and inserting the Snopes article to help my older relatives better discern the facts of a situation, and I'd even write my own response to go with it. I only did it 3 times. I only did it 3 times not because they started coming back to reality, but instead because they didn't want to be told they were wrong, so she quit including me. My biggest concern is that we are living with a bunch of people who have completely checked out from reality and are just not open to coming back, and that those people are going to take this view of needing a revolution and starting a civil war over a bunch of shit that is completely not true. I have no idea how we're going to avoid this eventuality, but I know if we don't figure it out, it's coming.
14. Thatā€™s actually public record. United letā€™s you check flight status on all flights and upgrade list is included, you see the poor sobā€™s that havenā€™t gotten an upgrade yet until the flight takes off. I bet itā€™s about the 6 am rebook. Thatā€™s the one that wouldnā€™t be public.
15. Yeah, no shit involved. Might have been some semen left over. I expect they washed out the tub before the next baptism though.
16. yeah even that narcissist Trump went to Puerto Rico because he thought he needed to be seen "helping." His idea of helping was shooting paper towels out of a t-shirt cannon, but he at least showed up. When you can't even rise to the level that Trump did, you have serious serious problems.
17. Did you just out a sock or are you still so drunk you can't tell that's a different username?
18. This dancing for Rush's death is not surprising. I was reminded today of his regular segment in the late 80's and early 90's called the AIDS Update which had a theme song of Dionne Warwick singing "I'll Never Love This Way Again" and celebrated all the gays that were dying of the disease. By the way, he wasn't celebrating the life of the gay people who had died in these segments, he was celebrating the fact that another gay got what was coming to him. He was a terrible person in life and I will remember him as a terrible person who I am happy will not be able to pollute the eardrums of my family any longer. I'm going to just leave it at that. I do have to give him some credit, though. As a young stupid idiot, I listened to him a fair bit. He blatantly lied about something that I accidentally found out was just a straight up fabrication. I knew if he'd lie about something so easily falsifiable he was someone that could not be trusted and quit listening. That was the beginning of me opening my eyes to the idea that what believing things just because my parents believed them was not a good look, and I needed to start thinking for myself. So thanks for that Rush. I'm a much better person today because you were a filthy liar.
19. Apologies. I was reading a thread about the national anthem, so I thought when you said this:
LOLz. C'mon man. There are a few willing to stand, regardless of how many folks on this board hate America.
you were talking about the national anthem, since that's the topic of this thread. Since I don't follow you around and read all your posts, maybe I missed the context that you didn't provide here. Like I said, you can be better than this. Provide better context if you want people to draw different conclusions, man.
20. Nah your implication that those that ignore the national anthem hate this country was the stupid bit I was commenting on. You could be better than that.
21. It worked for LadyG in the Cavanaugh hearings. It wasn't going well until he started yelling, then suddenly Dems backed down and Cavanaugh got confirmed.
