  1. In Houston, there is only one booster that truly matters. Tillman Fertita. It's his world. SO perhaps Herman only had to dupe one booster there. I think Houston was so interested in keeping Herman because Houston had struggled for relevancy for a while in college football. As soon as they have gotten a decent coach that coach bolted for greener pastures. Briles and Sumlin were the first two. But they never got Houston to the level of competing for elite five star recruits like Ed Oliver or beating national powerhouse Top 10 schools like his victories over OU and FSU. So IMHO - their hot pursuit of Herman when the rumors started were likely solely the result of how thirsty they were for someone to stay. It's why Applewhite got a deal with a clause punishing a premature departure financially.
  2. That is brutal. Awful news for him, but hopefully he can focus on his education and get a great degree.
  3. I'm sorry, but as a lawyer I would love to try a case (every lawyer would) where the evidence of quid pro quo included: 1. I have the favor asked for by the executive of an organization in a written summary of the conversation that is detailed, accurate, and signed-off on by multiple people. and 2. The President and the person responsible with ordering OMB to withhold the aid (his Chief of Staff) both stating on national television that yes they asked for the "investigation" and/or yes on quid pro quo. and 3. The President admitting to his point person in Europe that the only thing that matters is the announcement of an investigation not an actual investigation (Pretext). I mean those are undisputed facts. We can say that's not an impeachable offense, but we can't say no quid pro quo existed or that a crime wasn't committed.
  4. Their schedule is so soft anything less than 10-2 should be considered a huge, huge failure.
  5. I don't get the attention span argument. We are impeaching a President. It should be done as cleanly as possible. I give zero shits for public perception or polling or the upcoming election IMHO. My only concern for timing related to the election is that this act related to receiving a favor meant to damage one of his political opponents in the upcoming election. As a result, the only concern I have is his propensity to keep doing it again and again over and over if it's not unchecked now.
  6. Republicans release their report early. Double down on everything. It's like what the witnesses said the last two weeks were irrelevant to their final conclusions.
  7. The problem is that the Dems have not figured out their end game especially in lieu of the general sentiment in the Senate and the likelihood there will never be a full legit trial.
  8. Man, CTJ just comes in here and shits on everyone's day. LOL. Seriously though, I was all thinking Herman nutted up, did the right thing, and dropped the dead weight. Then I read CTJ's post and I am disappoint.
  9. Damn Losing Fillinger is going to hurt. Hopefully new hire circles back with the kid and gets our foot back in the door.
  10. Who gives a shit if he's an analyst?
  11. Piss off.
  12. Anwar saying Ash is the top candidate to replace Orlando.
  13. Wasn't expecting that..
  14. Not quite as good on the recruiting trail either.
  15. Well gosh since you say so.....
  16. Honestly if he holds this class together and picks up a quality player or two, pay him all the monies.
  17. I know certain players take time to develop. So I guess that could be the case here, but I have to think that more playing time last year would have been beneficial for our offense last year. Also, I don't know how after watching the guy play all year this year that he was not a captain to start the year. He exemplifies everything anyone wants a football player to be on the field. No clue how he is off the field obviously.....
  18. Self-diagnosis has never been one of his strengths due to his ego. I know I should have the fatigue of years prior against me, but I kind of think that if we hire a good OC and move Beck to a position coach along (or he isn't back) with replacing a few staffers who are on most everyone's collective shit list, I think we have a really good year next year. On the other hand if we do that and our season next year is an even bigger dumpster fire than this year - I don't think I would be surprised either.

  20. Agreed. You can typically only range well if you know someone is good enough to know what a range is and to vary it by position. It's always going to get you in trouble, but if you are doing it in late position and not overdoing it you will always have the profitable play in the long run. So don't sweat losing some hands when that happens. You have to find the fine line between raising to thin out the field and raising and getting too much action. Most $1/$2 require raises $15 to even begin to deter your opponents from coming along.
  21. It's great. I finished it tonight. It's slow generally, but worth the watch for sure.
  22. You are starting your bankroll from scratch again. Track diligently your sessions and your profit. Keep your poker bankroll separate from your life bankroll. With regards to your first post regarding how you get up before you get snake bit by cards, recognize that is variance. If you are making good solid poker decisions and getting the money in well then don't sweat the outcome if it costs you some profit. As for ranging hands, focus on position. Start with pre-flop range charts like the ones found here: https://upswingpoker.com/texas-holdem-starting-hands-guide/ 80%+ of the opponents at 1-2 likely haven't used or seen the hand guide and likely don't focus as much on position. If you are playing a good player the charts help you with a range you can typically expect. If you are as profitable as you state in your first post you are adequately incorporating ranges in your decision making. I wouldn't sweat the books, but get active in serious discussions of hand histories in poker forums and here. Learn for Lurch and Sooner and anyone else in this forum when they post their hand histories. Chip in with your own thoughts and we all learn from each other. Grind until your bankroll is up to 2/5.
  23. It's important to remember Chip Brown is a fraudulent cocksucker who intentionally publishes material that damages the university and/or its recruiting efforts.
