  1. We’re happy with our Fire Recast after a month or so of use. We screwed up and got the 500GB/2 Tuner version if we would have paid attention we would have went with the 1TB/4 Tuner. We are just using it on a single TV right now but I would assume it is multi TV capable with multiple Fire Sticks.
  2. Couple good FL snek stories this week. Snake handling homeless preacher tells the residents of Jacksonville Beach the good word. https://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/local/large-snake-spotted-in-jacksonville-beach/922227189 Alligator helps out with the invasive snake problems https://www.wptv.com/news/protecting-paradise/video-alligator-eats-large-python-in-everglades-national-park
  3. I bought a 3” M60 Pro in December, there is a picture in here somewhere. I’d still like to get a M640 Pro. After that I have some wants for a M28 and something in 44 Special maybe a GP100. Id love a 44 Bulldog but I don’t quite trust Charter enough to put the cash down.
  4. Dr Pepper and Jameson have some weird synergy that makes both better
  5. My wife just told me Miranda announced she got married, could have helped send Evan into a relapse.
  6. I went once back in the early 00s, it was fun back then. They had a N and S stage set up and rotated back and forth. If you were at the front of one show you’d end up at the back of the next one. There we lots of tits by the end of the night.
  7. I don’t want a V6 let alone an electric truck.
  8. I’m curious about this. I believe we are in the same industry based on another thread. Are you using any additional information to vet the job changes? I’m 13 years into my career with 3 different companies. My tenures were 8 years, 9 months and currently 4 years. The 9 months looks bad but it was a company that relocated my office and I elected not to move. I’m interested to see if the 9 months raises a red flag for you or if the other tenures balance it out.
  9. Maybe it’s the career I’m in or that jobs have been fairly plentiful the past 15 years but if my company wants me to have 24 hour email access they will either provide the phone or pay my bill. With the legalities regarding work data on personal phones during a lawsuit finding I’m not offering my phone even with a stipend Of course this will not apply to self employed white collar jobs.
  10. And which one do we think is happier?
  11. You can roll a regular IRA into a Roth with no income restrictions. It does become more complicated with an existing traditional IRA balance (pro rata rules).
  12. We officially cut yesterday, looks like about $180 net savings per month. We’ve spent the past couple months gathering all of our equipment and trial running everything and were finally ready to pull the plug. Happy times at the Archer house.
  13. 11 new NSAA thread replies and nothing added. I’m looking at you @mulletpelini
  14. Got us too. 4/4 Last year our CPA ran our 2017 numbers using the 2018 brackets and said we’d see about a $10k drop. I’ve had that number in the back of my head all year and when I did my 80% rough TurboTax estimate a few weeks ago it looks like we might owe a couple Gs.
  15. I see this as a win, you can finally convince your wife she doesn’t mind the taste of rubber.
  16. Sorry for the diarrhea of post but I really loved and miss our Mal. On the protection side at our current house we have a wrought iron fence he would patrol the fence line and make lap after lap. He’d chase bikers, joggers, kids up and down the fence. Luckily it was a ways off the street and he couldn’t get to anyone. Like LJ mentioned he was super cool with people if we let them in the house. We had one party with probably a 5 year old kid climbing all over him pulling his lips and he just laid there. He was also super small animal aggressive no real problems with dogs but everything else was fair game. We found several dead cats in the back yard over the years. Right after I got him he caught a cat in the yard and proceeded to throw it in the air, watch it hit the ground, pick it up and throw it again until it was dead. I buried it and he dug it up the next day and was throwing it around again.
  17. If you aren’t dead set on a puppy the rescue is awesome and they have a ton of TX dogs available. This is where mine came from. He was a pedigreed European dog that was imported for K9 work but the officer didn’t go through with the training and gave him up for adoption (something about a pregnancy or divorce was involved). I can’t check the site or I’d have another which is not in the cards right now. https://www.malinoisrescue.org/
  18. Mals are also clingy and like to cuddle. A pro trained dog may be better but I’ve seen too many pictures of other Mals acting just like ours to think ours was a one off.
  19. I’d get another Mal in a heartbeat. I’d do a lot of research on the trainer and if I thought the value was truly there for my family. I just googled protection trained Mal and the first site I pulled was $55000-85000 a dog. You have a breeder and trainer picked out so you probably have a more realistic budget for what you are expecting. One options that you might want to explore would be joining a schutzhund club and doing some of your own training Someone mentioned insurance, I was doing some online home insurance quotes over the weekend. One of the companies specifically listed Mals in their applications. When I got him in 2005 not many people had heard of a Mal and they hadn’t been blacklisted. With their rapid increase in popularity they have found their way onto a lot of naughty list with the GSD. I don’t remember seeing a Dutch Shepard listed...
  20. What’s a dog thread without pictures, he was our goofball
  21. We had a Malinois that we lost a couple years ago. He was not protection trained but was an awesome dog and had some natural protective instincts. He was much more protective and aggressive when I was not at home. I’d do a lot of research before getting a trained dog. The first is cost I’ve seen fully trained going for close to $20k or more. Second is follow up training and cost. Third would be your wife’s suitability to maintain dominance on an aggressive alpha dog. Fourth would be family integration, a friend has a retired service Mal that she has to keep kenneled during the day because it has went through the front glass window multiple times to get after people in the front yard or on the sidewalk. Ours busted our storm door open one day and chased someone down the street. He also jumped and grabbed our neighbors arm when he stuck it over our 6’ stockade fence. This is a neighbor that he was cuddling with a couple days earlier. When we lose our Border Collie we will probably have another Mal but it will not be fully trained.
  22. We’re not. We already had the Roku before we ordered the Recast. We did the combo deal with the Recast, Fire Stick and antennae that basically gave you a free Fire stick. Looking back we might have been able to save a little by going with the Fire Recast Combo and skipping the Roku. We haven’t tried streaming through the Fire Stick yet but have been blown away by the Roku. I also much prefer the direct app buttons on the Roku remote.
