Realignment talk not going away
Iowa is at the top of their brand, the scrappy lunch pail team that wins with 3 stars. It has been evidenced. It was like 15 years ago but Iowa was on top of a chart of the ratio of wins:recruiting. Somehow the Hawks run this ancient offense that found their way to the conf title game when the BUG was split by geography. I haven't encountered many overly proud and enthusiastic Hawkeyes. Tennessee is #3 in SEC titles and only recently was passed by UGA at #2. I have no idea where Iowa is/was in the little 8.

Films About Mental Health/Illness
IIRC Stephen King's complaint about the film was that his book was about a sympathetic author who gets driven mad, while Jack Nicholson was pretty much there from the start.

Shawshank Redemption 2
They meet up with the folks from Trading Places. Easy game, they go out for a tour on Andy's boat; a three hour tour.

Iowa has had something like two head coaches in 50 years? And all without a pedo scandal.

This is the single platoon era where he had to play defense to be on the offense!?

The movie you just watched
We need a separate thread for movies we started on tv and will circle back to. until then, Meet Jon Doe, 1941 Gary Cooper, Barbara Stanwyck, dir Frank Capra. Need to budget two+ hours. Very bright and light hearted for the pseudo-dark premise. Neat how bright and cheery Hollywood was back then, and Barb was once young.

That's why they need daily visits of home care and health care. Somewhat surprising that Hackman did not need to see at least a nurse every few days.

the academy's appeal to watch movies in theaters
Yes it's a community experience that you don't get in your cave. Blockbuster was a little bit if you went at like 7:30pm on a Friday.

the academy's appeal to watch movies in theaters
I go to the theater if the film is important to me, so I don't have to hear my family's non-stop talk. Subtitles are mandatory in our living room. My tube tv still works.

Criticize your favorite movies
The Death Star officer says "Commence primary ignition" meaning there is an ignition sequence. But it fires like 2 seconds later, meaning there was one sole ignition not to be called primary.

Biggest Academy award fuck ups
I was thinking that Landau should have won it for Rounders playing Damon's law professor/confidant. But Ed Norton had the superior role. They need a 3rd award for best bit part character actor.

Blockbusters you’ve never seen
I think the last time I saw a Quenton Tarentino movie,
