  1. Our boards are about a day to 6 months behind. I have only read domers wondering if our *rivalry* with Stanford will be broken up by SMU.
  2. Me neither but SC would have been favored against the actual BCS champion 2003 - 2008. Hey did CA ever resolve that boycott of however many states?
  3. The 'rumors' are 100% focused on these exact three schools. It would be odd if every leaky mouthpiece was getting it wrong. and also this week the Noles seem to have figured out the mute button.
  4. Where did you get that day as the beginning of the UCLA treachery? For it to be leaked so soon it was likely being plotted before there was a rebel alliance.
  5. I am a bit behind on my SMU traditions. Did they once play the same as the Dallas Cowboys?
  6. they moved campus to Detroit? I thought the ACC's expansion strategy was weird enough already. Whatever it reminds me of the Louisville add; Oh we need to expand? Who's on sale!?
  7. There is some talent in the Bay Area towns. I can't imagine a Stanford-Clemson recruiting battle.
  8. The Big12 of the LHN era was very competitive. Only one easy win in KU and while OU seemingly always won it, the Sooners had a loss. While the 12-1 conf champion was common in all conferences, I think in the big12 it was more likely because there were so many high risk offenses. the new Big12mart does not look like that. The best of the AAC is joining but there is only hope and few reasons to believe the PAC adoptees will be more than doormats.
  9. In the same way Frankenstein guaranteed the survival of parts of people.
  10. Well they got those boycotts all sorted out.
  11. SC has a 100 year tradition of wrong coach-right coach-probation. It has cycled through many times without destroying the PAC. The PAC's problem was the same as the state of California. The power is all centralized in the Bay Area while the money is highly weighted in LA. In football there was only one talent base and one real blueblood program paying for everyone else. In 100 years the conference could not establish even a consistent #2. So it was always vulnerable to the keystone being removed. It is just a lot easier for SC to change conferences than for SoCal to form another state.
  12. Why would your conference put the final Bedlam the first week of Nov?
  13. Yeah it's measuring what is spelled out in the contract. It would be like ranking teams based on the biggest school mascot network. Even Disney doesn't put a boring matchup on primetime ABC and the real game on ESPN too often. The times I remember are like ABC shows Rutgers @anOSU (#3) while two ranked SEC teams play on ESPN.
  14. The ACC contract is not really below market value for most of its members. There is just a few usual suspects who could make more in the Big2 without dragging down their average very much. The new Big12mart will become known as a bargain bin. They recently signed a good contract that pays them not to sue big media for breaking up their former conference mates.
  15. Well, at least the PAC-4 can say that 25% of the conference is ranked. Well they wouldn't really leave their conference. That would be like Duke trying to flee the ACC to. . . They should try approaching FSU/Clemson, however awkward. Surely there is someone at those schools desperate for a pat on the head from the ruling class.
  16. Before you disagree, try to name one famous battle that took place in Indiana without the wikipedia.
  17. The sport decided to be NFL-lite about 10 years ago. It hasn't gotten less dumb. Notre Dame claims to be the only team that does not claim a title they were awarded, 1953. No thanks to Iowa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Notre_Dame_Fighting_Irish_football_team Reportedly FSU woulda needed a board meeting yesterday or at least called one with 24 hours notice. I would just ask the Noles publicly, "If the ACC meets your demands you will extend the GOR?"
  18. Was it a cliffhanger? The only thing I remember is Mon Momtha got deposed and arrested.
  19. And the BUG is moving into Texas. So, Baylor and Houston new rivals for Northwestern and Minnesota? First time ever that the sport would be better off being designed by the federal government.
  20. Don't know Marcos but Cedar City is nice in the summer. Years back I was able to stay in an empty SUU dorm for like $15. sock-puppet.
  21. That has been the one reliable white smoke. When a couple schools refuse to sign the new contract it is because they know they have an offer for a new conference. It was Pitt and Syracuse in the Big East. TX and OU in the Big12. And SC in the PAC. (I did not hear anything about UCLA's position on expansion but they knew they were pulling out). Now there's this.
