  1. True. And the category exists for Lincoln Riley.
  2. Same joke as some fringe top 25 team getting a berth as a 'conference champion.'
  3. Lambert's simplicity made the convoluted material work, see him as Beowulf.
  4. Muhammed Ali thought so. In the leadup to his fight with George Foreman, Muhammad Ali famously told reporters, “I’ve wrestled with alligators, I’ve tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning and throw thunder in jail. You know I’m bad, just last week I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick. I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.” "It's gonna be a chilla, and a killa, and a thrilla, when I fight the Gorilla in Manila." Ali played up Liston's scary image and cast himself in the role of hero readying to slay a dragon. "He's too ugly to be world champion," Ali crowed. "The world champ should be pretty like me!" 'I'll Beat Him so Bad He'll Need a Shoehorn to Put His Hat On!' Ali got another great line off on one of my pals, asking him if he boxed. "I've boxed a little bit," my friend said." "What'd you box, apples or oranges?" Ali shot back. 'You're That Ugly Fella' to Trevor Burbick https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2645884-ranking-muhammad-alis-10-greatest-lines-of-trash-talk
  5. Offered a tart, except an actual piece of candy, which he boxed up until Easter.
  6. The 'goat' tv theme song!? What other ones can someone who has never seen the show still sing along with and enjoy? Wendt attended Campion High School, a Jesuit boarding school for boys in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and then Notre Dame — until he was expelled with a 0.0 GPA as a junior. “I basically quit and didn’t inform the university,” he told The Kansas City Star in 2016. “I’d moved off campus my junior year, and I didn’t think it through. I didn’t have a car. It was cold. I never went to class.” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/george-wendt-dead-cheers-norm-obit-1236222950/
  7. The face would presumably have to be white. Guess we are exempt.
  8. Me 2. If you were in the market at that time you remember that one woman who moved in just to have an easier field to win the beauty contest. I would not be surprised if ^^^ Ms Maine is from the south.
  9. We were discussing who needs the game more, SC or ND? I posit this as another playoff casualty. Neither school needs this game because any 1 loss season = a playoff berth. The legacy of rivalries was built when, not only one loss could doom you, but teams needed a big win to impress the voters. We had undefeated seasons with no title and Texas had I think 1970.
  10. Braveheart is unique. It's a heroic tale in which the hero never actually has a dramatic stare down with the villain. However accurate, I can't imagine other creators will not contrive that scene.
  11. It is one of the most streaky rivalries. This chart is almost never plaid https://www.winsipedia.com/notre-dame/vs/usc Hah. An entire generation almost passed without seeing ND win @Southern Cal. Almost every single one of those games in the 60s-70s either won or ruined a national championship. The streak was broken by, of all people, Gerry Faust. Ya. This came out of the BUG media deal. I think Riley's punishment for his recent records is to play the fall guy.
  12. How small does Brian Kelly need it?
  13. Tom Brady turned out okay. More recently some Michigan State guy hung around for like 15 years.
  14. It's so weird watching an old flic like Prom Night and trying to find the jokes Nielsen wasn't making.
  15. How did Nico not go to Colorado?
  16. How about a Charlie Weis sized contract extension, with the same no-offsets. How about CU retires the hoody?
  17. Don't schools still dress players in the 'retired' jerseys?
  18. Slingshot (2024). Space madness. Directors are really overdoing the hallucinated alt realities. It's starting to seem like an excuse to show things that don't fit into the plot.
  19. Can we have a death scene without a dream scene?
  20. The Zombies conditioned me to always have 'a show' on Sunday night. Yellowjackets is filling that void. The everything is way off. Example, teen girls lost in woods should be a tense survival story, but the tone is as serious as a bachelorette flic.
  21. Disquiet, 2023. Exactly what you expect from Canadian horror. John Rhys Meyes stars in a retelling of wake up trapped in hospital horror shows with the all of the tropes. The symbols were heavy handed, and just in case they explain them halfway through. While quite mediocre, I could not turn away.
  22. I enjoyed his Batman back in the day. Some did not.
  23. Asphault Jungle. 1950. Purportedly the first time that the criminals were the main characters instead of the cops. I was very surprised how most of the score was quiet. No violins or intensity noise during the crime. The middle part was a bit dull but the plan and the escape were great. Surprised to see that Marilyn Monroe had such acting skills. The ending narration from the police commissioner must have inspired Dragnet.
  24. I am watching even though I don't like it. It captures the spirit of the girl power fad of the early 90s, which was shallow back then too.
