  1. I've never seen Oregon shut out in a half before. Or smothered in a NY6 bowl.
  2. Well it was a fun dream for both sides. People are paid a lot more than me to hire blue blood coaches. SO while I don't fully understand the Sark hire I won't say Mr CDC was right or wrong. fwiw I don't want Brian Kelly fired but also wouldn't have wept if Texas took him.
  3. I don't know about UT but we seem to lose a lot of players by the end of fall practices. Especially highly touted skill position types. ND's Oline recruits are a known commodity. A fairly deep talent river from Chicago to New Jersey. They're committing because ND has always been a cultural force, not because they grew up dreaming of playing for Brian Kelly.
  4. I would be happy to say we're still undefeated in the Road Bowl. I might say unbeaten in the real Rose Bowl.
  5. The Admissions office has the power to stop the recruitment of any individual prospect. Oddly enough it had not been a big problem with the offensive skill positions but mostly on the defensive line. That's why Kelly eventually switched to a 4-3 because he couldn't reliably get nosetackles.
  6. The only #4 teams to play competitive games in the CFP were named Ohio State and Alabama. It's not the PC's fault that all the talent is in the hands of 4 programs.
  7. Also not to beat the dead 🐎. But our current starting WR corps is a slow sr possession WR, a converted qb, and a transfer from Northwestern. Kelly didn't run this offense when he had Miles Boykin (3rd rd) and Chase Claypool (2nd rd) split out in 2017.
  8. If you can pass in the Big12 I don't see why you can't run the ball against the Big12. I can't imagine any defense is built to stop a 2 TE run first attack.
  9. And in the 3rd qtr down 3 scores. Facing 2nd and 24 BK had his backup run a draw + a 8 yard out. Yes that's right, Brian Kelly quit in the 3rd qtr down 21 points.
  10. ND & Bama. Bear got one from you when he was coach of A&M, but went 0-2 against Bama naturally with Kentucky.
  11. and GMAFB. 21-7 was not a foregone conclusion and we blow yet another opportunity.
  12. In the first half I thought Bama is going to boatrace the Sugar Bowl winner. But drives like that last one tell me there's a chance. Bama's defense is good but it's not the smothering D the Tide had from 2011-14. If ND can dink and dunk for 30 yards then TL-Etienne can get into a shootout.
  13. he's dead and never beat royal. loser pos Trivia, against which blue blood programs was Bear Bryant winless?
  14. "first catch by an nd receiver today" Slowmanek is actually a TE who lines up at wr.
  15. but really this was foretold in recruiting the CBs. We had to send out late offers to 3*s.
  16. Well... by recruiting numbers we're without our top 2 WRs (hammy and kleptomania) Also Book was recruited basically as a backup to Brandon Wimbust. I don't think any SEC team would accept Book's transfer with any promises.
  17. I could go for Malzahn if somone else ran the defense IF you don't have the dynamic qb you might as well line up in the wishbone and try for 9 minute drives.
  18. IT's actually an argument that we never needed or wanted a playoff. About this time last year ND played ISU and the Irish looked as invincible as Bama does now.
  19. Two 3rd and longs Two QB draw. WE aren't going to win if we try so why do it?
  20. I remembered it after, couldn't even edit the thread title IT seems more like shiny brass to me. Compare it to vintage era helmets 636131623465954951-GettyImages-1784456.jpg
  21. Against Bama ND won the toss and took the ball. Ran a QB draw on 3rd and 15. Still want to keep this thread going?
