  1. Bet he'll be breaking through into backfield.
  2. Likewise George O'Leary stayed just a bit too long. I suppose at that level a few over-achieving players can have a drastic effect on the bottom line. 2013 UCF 12–1 8–0 1st W Fiesta† 12 10 2014 UCF 9–4 7–1 T–1st L St. Petersburg 2015 UCF 0–8 0–4 6th (Eastern)
  3. A grad transfer with 3 years of eligibility? Is that because he was at ND 3 years, played 2, + 1 bonus yr from Covid?
  4. Brady's senior season is a fun read considering whom they beat vs lost to. Not fun was remembering the ND game where the Big# refs gave M an excessive celebration penalty on our go ahead 4th qtr TD. 1999 Michigan Wolverines football team - Wikipedia
  5. Enough time lapsed for the refs to check their instagram.
  6. That's the son of Kevin White, former AD of ND and Duke. Is there a Ty Willingham Jr to make UTe Woke Again?
  7. YTP - Bill Clinton Says "No!" - YouTube
  8. Scott managed to build a PACn that was not on the basic cable packages in-footprint. That seems self-defeating. Although I'm unsure where the ACCn starts in-footprint.
  9. Hasn't the man suffered enough?
  10. Did Brees marry somewhat late in life?
  11. FWIW we went through this in 2004. The rumors said UM wanted 10 exemptions from ND's somewhat strict admissions standards and a vague 'have a say' in disciplinary decisions. Neither one of those was realistic so many felt Urban was not negotiation in good faith. andtherestishistory
  12. That's what we should have had under the bowl system. Notre Dame vs A&M would have been one of those Cotton Bowl classics before Playoff Mongers distorted everything. A&M had a dramatic victory over a UNC team that had some starters sitting out. ND stepped on those Tar Heels at full strength.
  13. to my knowledge the assistants aren't allowed near the Bama recruiting machine. Of course they meet the players but don't get the intel on their personal network. Likewise in NE there was a separate department of analysts for choosing free agents which was the real money shot of the Belichek dynasty.
  14. That would mean more G5 teams who really really want to play Oklahoma. Historically you can find a few examples of big bowls where one team was unmotivated because they were not playing for a national title. Or before 1973 when the title was voted on before the bowls, which were treated as a football vacation for good teams.
  15. You don't want to hear it here, but this is why the bowls are good. Many teams can end the year happily as opposed to the pros.
  16. I didn't think O'Brien was a bad coach. He certainly found himself in bad situations.
  17. Damn that;s scary good. I guess the Texas Bowl had streaks where little brother won a bit.
  18. I wonder if Bama's defense was getting a dose of . . . Big12 Syndrome? It's hard to look dominant when the offense keeps sending you back on the field every 90 seconds of gametime.
  19. We had a bidding war with LSU for ND's new DC Freeman. I think it boils down to that Freeman got the right to hire his own defensive staff. Freeman had worked with Mickens but not T Joseph. dems fightin words!
  20. i think you made a good hire. Not hearing much from fan boards. TJ recruited Kyle Hamilton out of Atlanta and got him to come to South Bend IN, now our D anchor. TJ had some disagreements with former ND Star Todd Lyte, which is likely why TL is gone. TJ was in charge of safeties, they played fine. The corners were the problem. So of course we kept the CB coach Mickens and let UT get Joseph. I'm not sure any coaching could have made them fast enough to keep up with Clemson/Bama. Right now everyone in Irishland is gaga that we got Marcus Freeman from U Cincy (LSU wanted him). Mickens worked with Freeman before so mayyybe TJ thought he would be an outsider. As I said not much . Looks like many up and coming assistants are playing on the carousel.
  21. I'm scratching my head too. He coached Kyle Hamilton into a star but ND whiffed on many many CB targets which bit us when we finally played teams that could throw the ball.
  22. From memory it was that Urban was telling recruits not to worry about academics because football players would always pass their classes. You don't have to be angry, maybe Urban didn't know he was clairvoyant.
