  1. Good start. We will need a pass longer than 3 yards someday.
  2. The schedules for the teams were kind of similar. IU played one good team and got crushed. Notre Dame played zero good teams. However the middle of our schedule was pretty respectable with teams like Louisville Army Georgia tech Texas a&m etc all turning in good but not great seasons. The idea to wear green while inviting the Hoosiers to wear their home red uniforms would work so well that I'm sure no one employed in an athletic department could think of it.
  3. There's a few ducks to line up to make it worth while. It makes you wonder about the origin of football when it was so hard to score you would eschew a regular drive.
  4. The torpedoes had to be drawn towards the exhaust, they do make an arc. I thought Vader's fighter was a shallow choice. The TIE fighters have zero armor and rely on speed. So the Empire put their top field commander alone in a vulnerable ship and distinguished it so everyone would know which to shoot at.
  5. I remember that, and the episode where Fred Flinstone goes back to school.
  6. I have contemplated your post for eleven days and concluded that RR is not a good institutional fit.
  7. My favorite was 2012 when the computers ranked us above Alabama; same record but we lost to a better team.
  8. We were ahead of Penn State in every computer and behind them in most every human poll. I was wondering if I am the only one that thought UGA is upgrading their qb.
  9. As was said above, the number of losses is just window dressing; we are all NFL-lite fans now.
  10. At least through the Bobby Knight era, the deal was that we would play them in football if they would schedule us in basketball. It would make for a great playoff game in South Bend.
  11. This is based on an assumption that #5 gets to play a team like UNLV at home. If you posit that the PC allows TV ratings to influence their seeding, then it becomes likely that you are hosting Alabama or some other talented team that lost a few. And, an IU type 11-1 will always be 5-8 so you don't meet them. I would not trade places. I think the first round bye is best unless you have a crystal ball that says you always play G5 then Big12. Well, if you want a benefit for winning the CCG then there should be a detriment for losing it.
  12. ND is up there with Texas by that metric across all 12 games. We lost NIU in the last minute and otherwise trailed only a few times early in the game.
  13. That's why I opposed all post-season expansion. Still it is slightly possible, if there are upsets in the first round then the G5 champion may draw a favored matchup in the elite eight.
  14. Nonsense. Just look at Bama's resume and rank that team without seeing their helmet.
  15. That was some class on physical domination.
  16. They wrote a song specifically about you?
  17. Counter counter. Who has PSU beaten?
  18. Penn St won at Southern Cal, by one point.
  19. UGA should just send twenty men on the field.
  20. Is that reviewable?
  21. This is a 'random' game?
  22. Well, those of us who did not want to become NFL-lite were a distinct minority. It is not breaking new as meaningless and/or conference-harming CCGs were happening in the BCS and the 4 team playoff. It's only a matter of time before someone notices that teams half-ass the rivalry week for the playoff.
  23. I am curious to see if the PC looks hard at their non-cons because they were very interesting this year. Clemson - flattened by UGA. Miami - flattened UF, who it turns out is not that bad. SMU - lost narrowly @BYU which could be a quality loss. If they weigh that then Clemson should not get a lifeline.
  24. Another reason to hate/ignore many playoff games. I give Boise a share of the 2009 title. Not seeing a big12 exclusion this year. You would need multiple 13-0/12-1 teams from the G5 AND the polarization that got an 11-1 IU team to also occur in the SEC. It doesn't have to be the Big12 champion, they can take a non-champ with fewer losses. For scheduling wins vs quality OOC I think the difference is infinitesimal. The inflated playoff leaves room for both the two big conferences and any small team with a pretty W-L column.
