Basically, both sides are right and wrong on this deal. The government is trying to avoid prejudicing juries but like most governmental decisions, they are going about it wrong. The UK is not the United States but the judge should not have sentenced Robinson without a trial. The most embarrassing thing about this is unrelated. It's the government and media's attempt to brush under the rug the thousands (documented) of young women raped by these unsavory gangs. You would think this is an issue everyone could get behind. The government believes that everyone can be culturally assimilated over time and they are willing to accept the collateral damage it causes. But, instead of addressing it, they are trying to hide it. That is wrong. People expect the government to at least try and protect them. Current immigration policy goes against the governments duty to protect its citizens. There is a way to handle this but like most politicians, they would rather avoid the negative consequences of their decisions.
